I must unequivocally state that this has been the most exceptional editing encounter throughout my academic journey. So I paid $2,463 for this company to…
So I paid $2,463 for this company to edit my book. The result was overall catastrophic.
They did a the basic job of correcting grammatical and spelling errors but there was nothing you would not be able to achieve at a fraction of the price with a good editing software. I also know for a fact that this company used software editing as the version they sent me included protagonists names being replaced with “the other person” and the overall tone of the book being changed to become overly formal to the point of ridiculousness: exemples such as replacing let me think with ‘let me ponder a bit...’ , or despite what you think with “Contrary to what you opine.’ being case on point.
I had very specifically asked for a summary of what was working well and what needed improvement, but the tracked file included almost exclusively edited grammar/syntax/vocabulary corrections.
Equally worryingly, there was nothing but praise for my book despite the fact that it contained many issues from a development and characterisation point of view (I know this, having had to pay another-professional this time- editing company, to have the book edited again).
Apparently my work was undertaken by Jason, their “most experienced” editor.
That tells you everything you need to know about this company.
I spent about two months trying to get them re-do their work diligently. And they promised to do so, about five times in writing, only for them to never do so. This company operates as a scam (whether they are a scam company is a different matter). Live and learn but I am warning others, as I’ve had to learn the hard way.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT hire this company for book cover art. I hired them for the whole kit and caboodle for booking editing. The editing was okay (still had some errors here and there) but the cover art was so bad I ended up having to use another service. They took forever and only ever sent me cheaply photoshopped together images and did that repeatedly for months even after I told them that's not what I wanted.
