Do Better!
Given that Trivago has lots of money to run ads on tv, you’d think they would use some of that money to keep their customers satisfied. While I understand that they are only the booking platform, the fact that they use scam companies like Algotel makes them equally at fault. I understand about some bookings being non-refundable, but when you have to cancel your trip due to travel advisories about wildfires and blocked roads, give me a break! Other companies were more than willing to reimburse us given the extraordinary circumstances. Do better!
Really ‘bot like’ customer service
Really ‘bot like’ customer service.
Wanted to add an extra day to my hotel stay. Wasted so much time going back and forth only to be told ‘no’. Went directly to the hotel and sorted.
Only book if you don’t need any support.
I'm sorry but they need some better…
I'm sorry but they need some better actors not some guy with big fake white dentures that are too big his mouth. Horrible commercial.
They don’t deserve a star!
They don’t deserve a star!! Wish I had did my research before booking thru Trivago! I feel as if they are part of the SCAM!!
My daughter booked a rental through Trivago that turned out to be completely false information! The place was shut down! She lost her money and when we contacted Trivago, they told us there was nothing they could do. How can they advertise listings on their site but take no responsibility when the listing is fake?
Trivago acts like they’re just a “search engine,” but they profit from these SCAMS while customers are left out of pocket. No refund, no accountability, no protection. Travelers BEWARE! If anything goes wrong, you are completely on your own!!
I would never recommend using Trivago to anyone.
Classic bait and switch
Liars! Looking for a room at the Tropicana and Trivago advertised a $188 rate for saturday that includes ALL FEES but not taxes. Click on the deal and Of course there is no room available for that price AND there is a resort fee of $27.99 at check out. Beware the smoking rooms they don't tell you about. Gross. Too good to be true. It usually is.
Got a room in a different hotel
Booked room on Trivago, was directed to Algotel. Got confirmation email from Algotel, but for different (cheaper) hotel, but still same price. Called service hotline and wrote email to them, but they said they cannot do anything. If Trivago works with these fraudulent platforms, it is not any better.
False advertisement
If I could give them 0 stars I would. We booked a Days Inn through Trivago in Edmonton Alberta. In the ad, the photos showed a microwave and mini fridge, they also said breakfast included, and on-site coin laundry. We arrive late in the night to check in only to find out Trivago's ad was false and there was none of that included in our stay. When we called Trivago to pursue a refund, 3 agents said they would call us back in 30 minutes. Not one of them did so we had to keep calling back only to get a different agent each time and to have to re-explain our situation. Now this morning they say they can't refund us at all due to the "strict cancellation policy". Can anyone do their job anymore? False advertisement and terrible customer service. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. We'd have better luck calling the hotel directly.
Don’t expect any customer service
I made a booking with Trivago.deals. A week later I wanted to edit the reservation (which the site said you could do) but the only option was to cancel. I reached out to Customer service 6 times and never received a response. 6 times they promised a response within 24-48 hours and never responded to an email or a phone call. Never again. It cost me $211 out of pocket to make the change at the hotel (which would have been free if they had done it right away). Never again. “0” stars…
This company is a scam
This company is without any doubt, the worst customer service and scam. I made a reservation for the correct date, I promptly received a confirmation, the confirmation was wrong. The only way to correct it was to call them right away. I called them right away they are refusing to refund my money or make the date changes to my reservations. Buyer beware!
DO NOT USE!!!
DO NOT USE!!!
They took my money then did not pay the hotel so I was then charged by the hotel as well.
I have tried repeatedly to get in touch with Trivago but no response. Also, the price Trvago charged me was £40 more expensive than the hotel themselves charged me!
The 3 times I've Tried Trivago..
The 3 times I've Tried Trivago there were No rooms available for the dates I needed. I called the hotels directly and got rooms without a problem.
Out of curiosity I typed in 5 star hotels to check their prices against Trivago's prices, the hotels websites had a cheaper price. I would never look at Trivago's site again.
Terrible service..
Terrible service... Hidden charges.
We modify our reservation when was supposed to be 100% refundable and only received 30% back... Do not book with them
TRIVAGO DEALS IS A SCAM SITE!
Booked with Trivago Deals. Received a booking number. Called Hotel and they had no reservation. I called Trivago Deals customer service and they said they would get back to me within 48 hours with a resolution. An hour later they sent me an email back with a reservation number. I called the hotel again and gave them the reservation number they provided, and still no reservation. No reservation of any kind whatsoever. I have called Trivago Deals a dozen times since then and they insist they will sort it out and get back to me but never do. Additionally the hotel is now sold out and I had to book another hotel for $800 more than the original stay. I now have cancelled my booking with Trivago Deals and haven't received my refund. Will have to go through my CC company. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS ITS JUST A SCAM!!!!
Spend a over a week trying the contact…
Spent a over a week trying the contact NO CALL BACK , COWBOYS SPRING TO MIND ,stay well clear.
Can I actually give 0 stars
Can I actually give 0 stars. Customer service is non-existent. Keep telling me a service ticket has been issued and a response is forthcoming. Nope. Crickets. Don't use, ever!
Their mistake, our loss
The month of our reservation got changed on the confirmation Trivago sent. We contacted them and requested they fix the date. They refused and we were charged $400 for a room we were unable to use.
Trivago broker behaving like scammers.
Trivago it’s just a broker, and I got a very bad experience with them, as they are publishing prices that does not reflect the real price you’re gonna pay. They redirect you to another broker where you get double disappointments. If you have an issue, they forward you to the other intermediate broker, where you end up with a never-ending story and mails. I lost a lot of money with them, never again. Trivago Bookingref: 148xxxx.
Asked for a refund, but just a load of excuses as to why they wouldn't pay it
I booked a stay in a Holiday inn through Trivago Deals, when i went to stay at the Hotel, there was a problem with the room. Holiday Inn offered me a refund, but said i had to submit through Trivago Deals and they would refund me.
Well, all Trivago Deals have done is made loads of excuses as to why i can't have a refund, even blaming the hotel, although they had written a letter saying i could have refund.
Booking date changed when redirected to Trivago to finalize booking. SCAM ALERT
Recently on a road trip, I used Google maps to find a hotel along our route for the night. I booked a room using Google's suggested booking site which ended up being Trivago. I didnt realize until after confirming the booking that Trivago's site booked me for a night a month in advance, when my search on Google was for a room for the same night.
I immediately called Trviago, advising them that there had been a mistake and that the booking was supposed to be for the same day, not a month later.
I spoke to two different customer service agents, both of whom told me they would call me back within 30 minutes with a resolution (neither called). Instead I got an email saying I was out of luck and that they would not refund or change the date of my booking.
I now have a room booked 30 days from now for a hotel I will never use and the booking site will not reschedule the booking.
ABSOLUTE SCAM!!!
Be careful when using Trivago. If there is any mistake on the booking you are screwed and customer service is absolute garbage.
Trivago info out of date.
On a busy day for hotel bookings, with all train journeys south from Glasgow cancelled we tried using Trivago to book accommodation in Glasgow. The site repeatedly identified vacancies that didn't exist when we reached the hotels. The information on the site was hopelessly out of date. Perhaps this might be due to the accommodation websites not being updated fast enough but we were completely let down by Trivago.
