When we set up Tridify's service, we opted to work with IFC files because this is the global standard. Also, because all major 3D architecture and CAD softwares have an IFC export functionality, we felt this would give our clients the greatest flexibility. When we were developing our service we chose this format because all major 3D architecture and CAD softwares offer IFC export. You can use the sample IFC file (https://www.tridify.com/support/tutorials/upload-ifc-and-install-unity-bim-tools/) which we created to help people test their free Tridify accounts and we’ve got a number of tutorials and reference materials in our online Support centre (https://www.tridify.com/support/). If you would like any help in getting your designs into IFC format, please contact our Support team and we’ll be pleased to help.
Prefer to have a local tool v. service
Nice tool that is well implemented. I like the technology and innovation of what you have; however, I'm not in a position to upload models that are frequently confidential and have associated IP. I would much rather have a toolset that I could integrate into Unity at a cost to convert models and retrieve attributes locally via json. If you can get your tool to coordinate document storage on a per-element level that would be extremely beneficial to the industry as well.

I have tried Tridify for importing revit based architectural 3D model into unity enviroment for further VR development. It worked great for me. Plugin imported very good quality materials.

I think Tridify is a great conversion platform for 3D visualization in Unity. However, I feel that for other use cases such as AR/VR experiences; I feel that the mesh optimization could be better in terms of polygon count.
