CCJ against Tred
I advise all customers who have not received their funds back to consider civil action through the County Courts. Tred Earth returned my money to the payer, when they had no legal mandate to do so as all the funds in the account legally belonged to me. I initiated legal action and won because Tred did not have any legal argument for not releasing my money to me. I suspect their belief that by operating out of a virtual office will prevent anyone recovering any debt against them, which is correct in the sense I am unable to instruct a Bailiff to recover the debt, but I am able to complete Form N349 as I have a CCJ against Tred, which means I can recover my debt directly from Tred's bank account.
Missing funds from account
After joining Tred due to their more sustainable approach, I was really disappointed, I couldn’t transfer money to different accounts, there are charges when money is withdrawn past a certain limit and they also charge a monthly fee for the use of this account.
I cancelled as the account didn’t work for me unfortunately, the remaining balance had gone missing back in January 2023, they emailed me in July about the missing funds, the customer service was really poor, the refund forms were faulty and took a further 10 days to rectify, but I could be waiting a further 60 days to receive the missing funds, really poor overall
Update: 6.9.23
It has been more than 3 weeks and I am still waiting for the refund.

Tred have removed my money from my account as part of the closure process. I was expecting it to land in my designated account (monzo or revolut) details of which were provided to them as requested, within a day or two.
They claim I provided them with incorrect details, which is untrue and a stalling tactic.
It has been weeks.
Someone is profiting from customers funds being held somewhere.
I've issued an ultimatum to them and will be involving regulatory bodies if the funds have not arrive within 2 days.
My current situation is that I feel I have been robbed. Therefore Tred, you are thieves. I advise anyone, business or personal customers to stay well clear of Tred.

I have received an email that Tred is closing my account down and I think this applies to all their customers.
I think it is a stupid idea to focus on business accounts after they spent the last 3 years building the current account therefore I have reduced my star rating from 5 to 2.

Dishonest, Untrustworthy Clowns Posing As A Bank
Tred started spamming my business email with their offers of a free account; I suspect they targeted me because they could see that I run an eco-friendly company with shared interests in environmental and climate issues.
After several months of their spam I decided to give them a go; I accepted their offer of a free account, and transferred monies from my business account to my new Tred account. The inquisition started straight away, and whilst I was under their interrogation they would not allow me to access MY money.
“What is this money you transferred? How did you acquire it? What do you intend to do with it?”
When I explained that it is money from my business account, which I earned through my work, and intend to spend it as I wish, I was told that I cannot use the account in any business related way whatsoever. So why then bombard my business with your spam? Why target small businesses with your marketing emails if we’re not allowed to use the account?
In order to get my money back from them I had to change my email address to a non business one.
Next up, after thirty days of opening my free account, I had a text to tell me that the very next day Tred will be taking £2.99 out of my account to pay for my account which is now - without any notice - not free anymore.
Let’s have a look at what you get for £2.99/month:
You can’t set up direct debits or standing orders.
You can’t send or receive money.
You can’t use ApplePay or GooglePay.
You don’t get statements.
You can’t withdraw your own money.
Customer service is absolutely shocking.
The next headache was trying to close my account. To do this you have to email Tred, stating your reasons for wanting to close account. My first three requests went ignored. On my fourth attempt I happened to mention the Financial Conduct Authority, and would you believe they actually responded. I had to give a reason for wanting to close my account. And then I had to give a reason again. And then again. Eventually, after three weeks of attempting to close my account, my account is finally closed. But the money I had left in there? There is no way to withdraw it. I spent what I could just so that these clowns don’t get it for themselves.
So, do heed this warning. There are plenty of real green banks out there, ones which won’t mess you around, ones which are honest and dependable. Triodos, Starling and Monzo being the best ones. Avoid Tred AT ALL COSTS.

10/10 5 STAR BANK! NO ISSUES. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I have been with Tred for a solid month now. I am more than happy to say that this is by far one the best banks i have come across. Although payments go pending and don't arrive straight away, Tred will never fail to credit my account with the correct amount and no further than 24 hours after payment as promised. For a beta version this bank is really good. Out of experience i think its better than most mainstream banks. My Tred card arrived very fast! (3 Days within opening my account. My transactions have never failed or declined. I am so excited for Tred's future and i wish to be a part of the whole journey! 5 STAR! (i HARDLY EVER GIVE 5 STARS!!!!)
I hope they introduce faster payment services for instant payments and payments outwards. :) 10/10.

Do not open account with this company and do not spend a penny trying to deposit funds eventually your money will be held for unlimited time. STAY AWAY there is plenty other green banks that won't steal your money !

Account creation fails, app is useless
The card can only be signed up and used on the app, but during the process my application was rejected without reason. This happened several times, and has never happened with any other bank. Recently I thought I'd retry, but the app fails to send SMS for logins. And when I finally got in, the app logged me out instantly. But it has my email registered so I can't start clean.
