Zero communication - avoid!
Okay, I’ve had enough after reading some of the other reviews.
I’ve been waiting for a response from customer service for almost a month. After completing a trip as a trip leader and submitting it for review, nothing happened for about two weeks. Then the status was changed back to draft without a single word of explanation.
I was still hoping this wasn’t a scam, but seeing responses from JMT here claiming they aim to reply within 24 to 48 hours is honestly laughable. At this point, it feels like a dead project.
Even if they start communicating at some point, I’m no longer interested.
I can’t imagine how they could be helpful if I or my travel companions needed any kind of assistance, or if there were any payment issues on the part of some travel mate.

Thank you for your honesty. Our CEO recently reached out to you via email because we recognize that we completely failed you on multiple levels—from the ignored WhatsApp messages to the lack of feedback on your trip.
You are right to be frustrated. We are not using the Whatsapp support anymore, and we failed to deactivate it. The move back to 'Draft' status was caused by a technical bug that prevented you from seeing our feedback regarding missing images for your 'Singapore Food Experience' trip. It’s incredibly disappointing to us because your trip is exactly the kind of high-quality content we want to champion.
We aren't asking for blind trust, but as mentioned in the CEO's email, we want to prove we can do better through action. He has offered to be your direct point of contact to skip the support queue entirely, get your trip live within 24 hours, and provide dedicated marketing support to help you get bookings.
We respect any decision you would make, but we hope you’ll give us this one chance to make it right personally. Please refer to the WhatsApp number provided in that email whenever you're ready

They take ages to reply, if they reply at all. The organiser never responded to me, and despite multiple follow-up emails, they failed to reply and return my deposit. I eventually had to involve my bank to resolve the issue.
I had already booked my airline tickets based on this trip and ended up having to manage everything on my own.
Do not trust them.

Just to clarify: Your deposit was fully refunded in early December, and we informed you in our last email that it might take a few extra banking days to appear in your account. We didn’t hear back after that.
We also regret that communication with the TripLeader didn’t happen as expected after your booking. Normally, Tripmates book the trip first and then coordinate details directly with the TripLeader before arranging personal flights – this helps avoid exactly these kinds of inconveniences. We’ve addressed this case internally to reinforce that process.

A HYPOCRITICAL COMPANY
Absolutely HYPOCRITICAL company. I been a Tripleader for 2.5 years and then a new CEO popped out of nowhere and decided to change things. My whole account was deleted due to the new payment system (at least that's what they said) I was told they were going to go with Stripe from now on, and Stripe is not available in my country. So, all my work was thrown into a bin without any last thoughts given.
But that's not the only thing.
When I check tripleaders from countries where stripe is not available, those tripleaders' accounts are still available on the website. It gives the idea that the stripe excuse was just a lie only to dismiss MY account for some reason.
The company is in Germany, but the company is run by a team that mostly consists of people from countries like India, Lebanon, Ukraine, etc. Most are not even in Germany, they work remotely. So, I guess, that's why the company lacks the German discipline. As a Tripleader, I had to remind them about things where they had to take care of. Their excuse was, "there are too many Tripleaders". Does that sound professional to you? You have a d.m.n whole team for that! But apparently, they are only there to dismiss the accounts they think they don't like, and protect certain accounts they are friends with. And the new CEO, he believes he knows the best. The company is NO professional whatsoever.
Besides, their marketing s.ck.s as they are not able to get much of traffics on social media, thus, not enough interest is received for the trips. I've got all my tripmates by myself.
Even one ⭐ is too much for such an unprofessional company. Hope to see it won't last for long. And with such decisions, they probably won't, as they are still a start-up company and yet they shoot themselves in the foot.

Stop being a liar, JoinMyTrip. You say 'we decided to use Stripe, so we had to cut ties with you, because Stripe is not used in your country,' yet when I check your website, and go through the tripleaders, there are Turkish tripleaders whose accounts are still active. Not to mention that my original review was written in July. After 3 months, you suddenly decided to reply back? Really? And still lying about the situation? There are Turkish tripleaders whom I talked about this "Stripe issue" back then, and they were upset as their accounts were going to be deleted, too. But it's been 3 months since then, their accounts are as active as they are in the beginning. So, I don't buy that new regulation thing you put forward.
I don't know what was the beef you had with me, as I had no beef with anyone there, but whatever that was, was enough to terminate my 2.5-year-old account without giving a second thought.
And yes, there is no problem about being diverse, as long as it affects the work culture, which you obviously lack, adversely.

Great trips with great people
As someone who loves travelling and does many trips a year, JoinMyTrip is also a great way to find well curated trips by other travel lovers. Went on 2 trips with joinmytrip, both of them were really good. Trip leaders are also very helpful and they are quick to reply to any qunestions you have about the trip before joining.

Do NOT ever use this company. I was suppose to Bali with them and they never confirmed it like they were suppose to a month before the trip. I had to email to ask them if the trip was still on and of course it wasn't. This was one of 2 countries I was visiting this summer (2024) and took longer than 24 hours to reply to my email. I couldn't cancel my flight without a cancellation fee. They don't have a phone number you can call. They also said they would contact their finance department to refund my deposit and they never did so I had to call my credit card company and do it that way.

Don’t even try
JoinMyTrip is not a working idea because most of the offered trips don’t have a single enrolled participant.
On the other hand, everybody could be kicked out from confirmed trips at the trip leader discretion.
In both cases there is a high risk that the trip doesn't happen, and the traveler will lose money, e.g. on flight tickets.
Therefore, it is useless to take a trip with them.

JMT TripLeader Christian Hübsch
A year ago I was looking for a fun trip and the opportunity to meet new people, this is how I came across JoinMyTrip. I found a trip to Croatia that was about to start in a week's time and was pretty booked, but I contacted Christian Hübsch (the TripLeader) and it turned out that I was lucky to get on board on such short notice! This trip was a blast, one of the best parties. Everything was well organized, and many fun activities were thought through by Christian. We didn't have time to be bored, the people were fun and easy-going, I really loved everything about that trip! So no surprise that I joined another trip organized by Christian. This time it was Oktoberfest in Munich. I had high expectations and they were all met, it was again a very well-organized trip, and everyone's wishes were taken care of. The third time I met Christian Hübsch was actually in my country, Finland, where he brought the Tripmates for another fun trip. Although I wasn't technically a TripMate during this one, I joined some of the activities that were planned by Christian. I totally see myself joining his trips again because I know that they will be good! And I highly recommend JoinMyTrip to find fun trips and connect with great people :)
