Simple clear way to book a ticket and…

Simple clear way to book a ticket and good pricing.
The only improvement would be to save some personal details between visits to save time on each transaction

My favourite app for booking rail tickets

I have always loved train travel. But the cost is just insane nowadays. 'Middle class' occupation indeed! Traintickets.com kind of runs a bit under the radar. It is a split-ticketing site but it seemingly uses a different platform to any other. In my experience (and I've booked now umpteen times, and I do searches a lot) their splits are cheaper than Trainline and Trainpal to name two better known sites. If they save you money with splits, they take a small fee, if not there is no booking fee. They have mobile tickets, apple pay wallet was a great addition a few months ago. I've had very little customer service contact but what I have has been quick and no fuss (e.g in Dec the strikes. I had two bookings cancelled pre-christmas and they were refunded no bother). I wish there was a mobile app and accounts for storing card details although Google and Apple Pay mitigates that a bit.

My card was charged three times for the…

My card was charged three times for the upgrade and it is taking ages to get my money back. I have your response but you have that wrong. The payments that were charged 3 times are for £12.50 which has nothing to do with the cancelled tickets that you are referring to. The upgrade occurred on the Train on the return sector and there should have been only one charge of £12.50 not 3

The upgrade made on the train will have been paid directly to the train company (Avanti West Coast in this case) & not to us at traintickets.com, and so the details of your review apply to your experience with Avanti West Coast. We are a third party retailer retailer of train tickets, and do not own or operate any trains.
We'd really appreciate if your review reflected the service you received from traintickets.com when you made the 3 bookings and received the 2 refunds.

I've investigated this for you now, and can see your card was charged three times, but this was for 3 different bookings you made & so is what we would expect to find.
The refunds you requested for the first 2 bookings were issued immediately from our side on 3rd May, and the money should be back in your account by now. There can occasionally be delays with our payment processor - this is unfortunately outwith our control, but please be assured the refunds have been issued.

I love traintickets.com, cheapest splits, ethical company

I love traintickets.com. They have the cheapest split ticket prices with the lowest split fee of any train ticket site, on normal end to end non-split tickets they have no fees at all. They take Apple Pay and Google Pay. Booking is quick and easy. They are a small business, an ethical worker co-operative, so not either a scummy train company or a hedge fund like Trainline. Their customer service is first hand. I book regularly. I always get an amazing discount. Customer service has been first rate. When my bookings have changed (strikes, cancellations etc) they have quickly refunded what I was due. I love it. Highly Recommended A++

Great customer service.

Had hospital appointment cancelled on the day, shortly before leaving for the station. Contacted customer services at traintickets. I had not yet collected the tickets and explained the circumstances to customer services at traintickets who very kindly arranged a refund.

Traintickets. Com to the rescue

I was looking for return tickets to London every week for a few months and traintickets. Com found cheap tickets for all journeys, even when the Ipswich line had work on the embankments,
Traintickets. Com found an alternative route for the same price.

AVOID!

Booked a train journey from Birmingham to London for Saturday 13th May before knowing this is a strike day. Contacted this company regarding this and what they're advice is - NO RESPONSE!!
They DO NOT offer full refunds - we've had to lose £10 for something that is NOT OUR FAULT!! They offer no compensation for strike days, and you can't change the date of the journey, hence why we had to get a refund!
AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!! We wished we checked reviews beforehand and booked via Trainline!

Absolute con artists
Bought tickets last Saturday for a journey tomorrow, screen shot the booking number at the time of placing the order
Went to check the tickets earlier to discover no email has been sent with the tickets yet the money has been taken from my account
Emailed them earlier asking for an urgent response no reply at all
Please guys don’t buy tickets from this lot

No phone contact number so you cannot explain your unique circumstances, would never book with them as long as I live. Had to cancel trip for personal reasons. Would have happily taken a voucher to use at another date. Vouchers not available.

They changed my travel date so I had tickets I didn't want ... but they gave me a refund

I went to change my request from 1 adult to 2 adults and they changed the travel date without me noticing (the stations were left as I had put them in so I didn't think to check the date). I have spent £68 for some train tickets today that I don't want. Have sent an email but can't find a telephone number - DON'T USE OR BE VERY CAREFUL!
Update - I have been given a full refund which is fantastic but it was still frustrating that it happened in the first place and it was stressful trying to get hold of traintickets.com and contacting my credit card company etc.
