Total Wireless by Verizon is horrible!

I live in central Arkansas and have trouble getting a signal in most areas. I can be standing next to one of Verizon’s cell towers but still only have one or two antenna signal bars on my phone.

Sometimes, I have zero bars and cannot even call 911, which is not good in an emergency. I used to have both Verizon & ATT post-paid. Yet, the service was just as horrible. So, I don’t understand what’s going on with them.

When I call customer service, the foreign call center agents who answer my calls barely speak English. And, all they do is defend Total Wireless. They refuse to acknowledge my issue.

I had the same problem with the major carriers, including Total Wireless’ parent company Verizon Wireless.

I miss Alltel Wireless. Verizon bought them out in 2008 for $28 Billion dollars. Before that, I had the best service no matter where I was.

99% of the time, my antenna signal had full bars, the connection was always clear and I seldom had any dropped calls.

I could be inside a cave in the most rural area of Arkansas, yet still have a good signal. But, now, it’s horrible, no matter what carrier I’m with. FYI: Alltel only hired U.S. reps. I miss those days.

This Service ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!

This Service ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!! the Indian ( red dot) Idiots that this company employs are all but IMPOSSIBLE to understand. If you try to use the website it simply will NOT let you do what needs to be done and when you call the customer Svc. number and are actually lucky enough to speak with someone ,, you can't understand them . I tried paying on line with the prepaid card and it tells me it went into my wallet,,, there in the site tells me I have $75.00 in my wallet , and my balance to be paid is only $19.16 yet i CANNOT apply ANY of the 75 to my bill. When i type in the pin # on the card in it tells me sorry but we cannot complete this transaction try again later. My Sve was shut off so now I can't call em to complain either. This company is designed to rip you off and they simply disguise it as ineptness to do it. All they do is apologize repeatedly and thank you for your patience . but they do NOTHING to fix your problem ,, they transfer you in circles with other MORONS until you just give up . DO NOT USE THIS SVC. !!!!

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. I had to repeatedly call, 8 times this time, to get a customer service rep re 3 different emails I received with conflicting info in each. The rep I finally got and I had a communication problem and for over an hour and a half I asked to be transferred to a US rep. He ignored those requests and began saying he couldn't hear me, static on my end, whereas he had been hearing me, I could not understand his accent, and he began saying my problem wasn't clear. There was tremendous background noise on his end that I had to keep raising my voice to hear myself over. I finally hung up with half information. They won't transfer you to someone you can clearly understand. Ignore questions and make it your problem. Saying, "I'm sorry repeatedly, I will help you," Doesn't help me. Good customer service is getting a rep that you can communicate with, who is thoroughly knowledgeable with issues and questions, who will get someone to help you if they aren't succeeding. This was enough to make me start searching for a new cell phone service.

Y'all don't give a crap.

It would be so nice to call someone and talk so we could understand them. Nothing personal against them they are super nice for the words I could understand but it makes for a very bad experience.
But y'all don't give a crap so I'm wasting my time typing this. PS I am leaving total wireless after 9 years but once again y'all don't give a crap.🤷‍♂️

Awful should be called total garbage

It’s such mess a let me see if I can summarize. I Moved over went fine later tried to move my daughter with them they told me I could add her for additional 15 a month to my account. Well that was a lie. It went from 25 for me to 65 for both. Trying to get straight took 2 months and half dozen calls not to mention the lies of it will be fixed next billing cycle. Fine got her on her own account and it was fixed for a day then she lost her byod discount. I forgot to mention she has randomly been shut off of service 3 times straight up sos. So now we have her own account and the byod 50% discount. However she is on the 40 plan and she’s was always supposed to be on 55-5/1/2=25. So I am almost terrified to try and get it straight I mean I have 8 hours of phone and text with them already. Never text with them always call you will burn hours on text. I have never experienced as bad of customer service/ tech-support.

The 6 hour and 86 cent ordeal

I'll attempt to put this in a nutshell: On 3/8/25 I used the automated phone line to renew my service (as I always do without a problem). It gave me the amount of $54.14 to renew, which I payed by card. Payment was accepted, service was renewed and my card was charged $54.14.
Restarted my phone (several times) but had no network connections. Phone showed service active but network connections deactivated or disabled. Customer service recording said, "We're sorry, there is currently no representative available to take your call. Please try again later." Roughly 6 hours later, (I'm leaving a lot out here) I finally got a live person who informed me that I had caused the problem because the amount I had payed was 86 cents short. Insane. I payed the exact amount their system asked for, and the agent had no clue what this 86 cents was about. By this point I was struggling not to go psycho on her, and told her to draw the 86 cents from my card and get my network connections back on. "We can't draw 86 cents. It has to be a minimum of 5 dollars," she said. I agreed to it just to get off that call.

My full service was then restored, but several hours later I got an email stating I had a past due balance of 54.14. Beyond insane.

Lies

Accidentally chose a stupid phone promo rather than a free month of service, called them and got escalated to the Loyalty dept. they told me to call back a week later and a day before service was due to refill. our service is due on the 8th, i call them on the 7th to make the switch for the free month of service, the lady i got told me she is not willing to escalate the conversation to the dept because "She is trained in this department" meanwhile she told me it was impossible to do meanwhile the guy i spoke with a week prior told me it was possible and to call him the day before. Well not only did they charge me a day early and is still saying our service is not available yet but they deliberately lied to me on 1 of 2 ends. due to their policy i wasnt even able to get a refund either. Switching to GoogleFi. So long to 5 years of service, glad it meant nothing to you guys.

The absolute worst customer service

The absolute worst customer service. If I am one second late on paying my bill my service is suspended. Verizon on the other hand will send me a polite email stating that my bill needs to be paid.
Total Wireless is the worst! I am shopping around for a new carrier.

Customer service screwed me, and my phone plans up.

When I contacted customer service about a phone plan error that they made, they weren't willing to fix it. They told me that I'd have to purchase a whole new phone plan, and forfeit the one that the total wireless person added to my son's phone. We had auto pay, and it froze up on in a system error on their end, so customer service said that he would take care of it. Next thing I know, I'm told that it's all set, and everything should be working. I've talked to multiple customer service people since, and gotten nowhere, I'm ending my auto pay, and my service with them.

If I could give them a negative 20 I…

If I could give them a negative 20 I would!! Their on line express payment system sent me a confirmation on payment that was made the day before monthly expiration date. The next morning our phones were deactivated. When we called they could not even find the payment confirmation #/code that was sent by them via email. The third CS rep & 2 and 1/2 hours later charged us an additional charge but only re activated 1 of our phones. I kept calling to reach a CS rep that I could somewhat understand he informed me a completely new account had been opened, without or consent, and we would have to speak with the refund department. When it was convenient for us to not have a cell phone we called yet again and they refused to issue a refund on the second payment!! This is flagrant fraud against consumers!!! We are out $, Time and patients!!! The FCC should shut them down!!!

Not worth reading, settle for low standards, not 0.

Pretending to be verizon, dad bought a card because he's old and they copied; then discontinued verizon cards. Followed up by using total wireless imei checker since we already paid for it.. and the websites broken, tries to sign you up without validating. Sad really, figured it'd have horrible reviews.

The promotion they advertised was false. I would have been a new customer using their service for the first time. They wanted to charge me 228 dollars to walk out with the FREE PHONE. The gentleman was very nice and did the best he could but even he didn't understand how it was promoting a free phone but yet wanted to charge me 228. RIDICULOUS!

If I could give a zero I would!

If I could give a zero I would!! I don't even have an account with them. I started receiving texts from Total Wireless that my Verizon phone was being transferred to them. I called Verizon and they said it wasn't , so I let it go.
Then I started getting texts messages that my payment had been pulled successfully. I called Total Wireless and they are useless. First girl wouldn't help at all. I called back and got another person. He argued with me that I opened the account. After an hour of arguing with me he realized it was fraud. But he couldn't close the account. Said I had to call Verizon and have them transfer the number back. Also make a police report.
I called Verizon and they said my phone number was not transferred. Called police made a report. Police said to call and have TW shut down the account.
I called them and I got a girl. Useless, I hung up and called back. I got a man. He wouldn't help me either. He said I couldn't validate the account so he can't close it. They are ridiculous!! I have no way of getting this account closed, even though I have the account number, pin and details about the account.

BUYER BEWARE!!

I have been with Total Wireless for close to 10 years.

Last month on January 12, I refilled my service plan using their online site. I bought the $40 plan.

After the payment went through,
checking my bank I noticed 3 additional $40 charges (4 total) on the EXACT same day and at the very EXACT same time I refilled my plan. I only have ONE line on my account and have NEVER had this problem.

I've spoken to multiple people trying to get a refund. Their answer is "It says it was refunded". That's as far as they go and I still do not have my money back! It's like they refuse to look further, make calls to other departments, get higher up involved.

So frustrating!!
