Glad I did a check on my proposed purchase. Turns out the car is a Cat S vehicle. Search revealed all the photos taken at the salvage/auction depot, and loads of other information. Money well spent.

Codes go inactive randomly or trying to use a code, get an error thrown for rate limiting.

Waste of money

I was ready to buy this vehicle on at first looking at the information you provided on the search but on looking a bit deeper at the MOT history it looked like it had ongoing problems.I did'nt buy it,thanks to your in depth report.

Totalcarcheck are the source for a 'Complete check' I purchased from Rapidcarcheck for a car in July 2024. In the check the section for Finance detailed 'No finance found'. I made the decision to purchase this car based on this information.

I have learned today that the car has outstanding finance and an proper HPI check revealed the full details.

Rapidcarcheck directs you to Totalcarcheck when looking into their so called 'data guarantee'. I expect no joy on this based on other reviews showing no response to complaints and the contact form on the Rapidcarcheck site returning and error every time I tried to submit a message.

The checks provided by the likes of these companies appear to be a scrape of some available data but not the full picture. Information such as finance and insurance write-offs are the whole point of background checks.

These checks are nothing more than a scam, avoid at all costs.

Really easy to use and detailed car hpi check

I have used Total Car Check 100s of times over the past decade to buy my own cars and to help others buy theirs. Total Car Check is my go-to for all my car checks. The details they give [even in the free check] are so helpful and useful, and always accurate. I always recommend Total Car Check to all those who come to me for help with their cars.

Recently when I was looking at buying an accident damaged car I got the silver check and the details are amazing. The check gave me a thorough background of the car including all 22 photos from the time of the accident and pretty much every other detail that I needed to know like full owner history, engine number, complete MOT details and mileage details. The list is endless.

I would definitely recommend without any hesitation.
