My Tissot PR 100 Sport Chronograph failed after only 23 months!

My Tissot PR 100 Sport Chronograph stopped working after 23 months. I initially believed it must be a simple battery replacement, who wouldn’t think that? Most watch batteries only last 2 years and most Swiss watch movements last 10 to 20+ years before having issues.

Using Tissot’s website, I used the “location icon” feature and it immediately located (what I believed was) the closest authorized Tissot shop AND service center near my home and I brought the watch there to get the battery replaced. The official Tissot retailer never warned me that they weren’t actually authorized to replace a battery, and accepted my watch immediately. When I returned to collect my watch, the store told me the battery was fine and that the movement itself was defective and not working at all and needed to be replaced.

I was in total shock and disbelief. How could that be?! How could a Swiss Made movement fail after just 23 months? I then contacted Tissot corporate headquarters to request warranty repair, and after waiting a few days they forwarded my request to the “official” representative in my country. After explaining my situation, I was then told that the authorized Tissot retailer that attempted to replace my battery was only authorized to SELL Tissot watches, but not to replace a battery. This was surprising, because replacing a battery should be a simple routine task and not rise to the level of voiding a warranty. In addition, the Tissot website itself directed me to that store based on my location and did not even include the name of any other service center. Basically if you put your postal code in or allow the website to use your location, you only get whatever facility is near you, but it won’t list the authorized service center location if it isn’t nearby. And that is ultimately what led to the confusion.

It’s also very inconvenient for Tissot to require something as simple as a battery replacement only at one shop in your country - which could easily be hundreds of kilometers away. In addition, it should be official policy for all Tissot sales representatives / stores to inform and warn all Tissot customers up front before opening any Tissot watch. Maybe even require the customer to sign a consent form alerting them to the risk of voiding the warranty.

Ultimately, Tissot should consider amending this policy and grant more of their official sales representatives the authority to at least perform a simple battery test and/or replace a battery and report any movement failures or manufacturing defects directly to Tissot. This would be more fair and more in line with consumer protection laws.

All that being said, the ultimate disappointment is that this Tissot watch is not reliable and from my experience, not true “Swiss quality”. After reading dozens of customer reviews, it is abundantly clear that many lower end Tissot watch movements fail after 24 to 36 months. While the exterior might be stainless steel and sapphire crystal, the interior mechanisms of their lower end watches (under €700) are mass produced and less quality.

Tissot should take all these customer reviews seriously and make changes and improvements to their products, website, policy, and overall production quality to greatly improve their customer service & satisfaction.

The watch itself is beautiful and Tissot has a very good and storied history. It’s a shame to tarnish this great brand reputation by accepting inferior quality mass produced movements and offering confusing, or unfair warranty policies.

Tissot Watch Service Review

I recently sent my Tissot watch for servicing and would like to share my experience.

After receiving the service report (Repair: 229233213), I reviewed it and contacted Tissot to discuss the findings. My primary concerns were the unexpectedly high service cost and the necessity of additional repairs that were not explicitly outlined in the report. During the conversation, I was informed that if these additional repairs were not performed, the watch might not function properly.

This was quite perplexing, as my watch was functioning perfectly before the battery was discharged, a fact confirmed by the watchmaker. The photos I took before sending the watch for service clearly show no severe impact marks or visible damage, contrary to the suggestion of shock-related issues in the report.

I am disappointed with the lack of clarity and the implication of additional, unexplained repairs. I have requested that my watch be returned with only a new battery, as this was the primary issue.

While I have always appreciated Tissot’s craftsmanship, this experience has left me questioning their service process and transparency. I hope for a resolution that reflects the brand's otherwise high standards.

Ordered a replacement watch strap for a gents Tissot watch. Seven weeks later still no strap. My local jeweller unable to explain what is happening as Tissot not in communication with them. It should not take up to seven weeks (49 days) to get a watch strap to the UK. Absolutely shocking service.

Urgent Complaint Regarding Tissot Watch…

Urgent Complaint Regarding Tissot Watch 1853 and Poor Customer Service
I am writing to express my disappointment with both the quality of my recent purchase and the level of service I’ve received.
About a month ago in August of 2024 , I purchased a Tissot 1853 watch from Macy’s in Manhattan for $1,500. Unfortunately, I have encountered several issues:
1. Fading Numbers: The white numbers on the watch face have already faded and worn off, making the watch look cheap and unworthy of its price. I’ve attached photos for your reference.
2. Time Setting Issues: I tried to set the time for New York, but it was impossible to do so. This is when I first contacted your customer service for help.
However, every time I called customer service line many times and emailed , it takes an excessively long time to connect with someone, and I am transferred multiple times without resolution. This has been a frustrating and ongoing experience.
I kindly request that you address these issues promptly. Please let me know the next steps to resolve both the product defect and the challenges I’ve faced with Tissot service. I would prefer not to write a negative review, but I need a solution as soon as possible.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

Sincerely,
[

T Touch Solar (£1,000)

Purchased a T Touch Solar (£1,000). Tissot sell it as primarily a watch, rather than a 'smart' watch. Because perhaps, it's not very smart, doesn't actually work. Very fiddly set-up, menu functions crazy complicated. Managed to get it to connect to the App... but then Tissot updated their App, connection lost (see App Store reviews !). The App is awful rendering the watch largely useless. Customer services invite you to send the watch for diagnostic - but the reviews/feedback there is similarly poor (expensive bills, time taken to return the watch). I don't think there's anything technically wrong with the watch... it's the App. The T Touch isn't fit for purpose, Tissot really shouldn't be selling it.

Daylight robbers

This review is in regards to the after-sales service of Tissot and not the actual watch.
Bought my first Tissot in December 2023, I had the case back professionally engraved after receiving it. I decided a month later I preferred the original look and sent the watch to Tissot for a quote on just a replacement case back. I was in utter disbelief when I received a PDF quote of £156 (for a one month old watch that was worn on 2 or 3 occasions) recommending it needed servicing and replacement bracelet in addition to the case back. Absolute joke. To add insult to injury, they also invalidated the warranty due to the engraving and send me back my watch with the bracelet not fully attached.

Tissot chronograph perfect watch

I have worn my Tissot chronograph everyday for about 28 years apart from having replacement batteries at which time I have had it serviced, it has always kept perfect time . I would recommend Tissot without any hesitation.

Bought my Tissot watch a year ago it’s been worn a total of five or six times and it stopped working. Local jeweller tells me it’s not the battery. Things happen, but literally cannot get a hold of customer service, have called them a dozen times either get hung up on or nobody answers. Finally got through to the sales line. Spoke with somebody they assured me they would mail me the necessary return box for service, nothing has come! Tried to call them back again nobody picks up. This is at swatch group, the owners of Tissot customer service in Canada. This is absolutely atrocious service.

Complained to Tissot regarding the clasp fastener on my wristwatch. The wristband is almost impossible to fasten one handed. The actual fastener stands proud of the wristband when fastened. Tissot told me this was a feature of the watch. Biggest load of rubbish I ever hear. Poor quality manufacturing is more likely.
Would I buy from them again - not in a million years, would I recommend them- not on your life.

The best value for your money

I really like the design of their watches. It is trendy and has quite many models that will make it hard for you to decide which one is the best.
I recently bought one, and I literally love it!
In my opinion, this is a brand that offers the best quality for the price. While it’s not the cheapest brand of watches, their prices are quite reasonable and affordable.

Horrible Tissot CS Belgium and CS Portugal

Tissot CS Belgium and CS Portugal: Horrible service.
To replace a crown on my PRC200 (17 years old), they want to replace the entire movement, charging 200 dollars, approximately 50% of a new watch (450 dollars). Completely disproportionate. A scam. The watch is in perfect working conditions, except for the crown that doesn't screw.

Very bad service compared to other watch makers TAG Heuer (excellent) and Citizen (Very good).
As comparison, TAG Heuer charged me 60 euros to replace the crown of my Series 1500 watch (price 2.000 dollars, 27 years old).

I will trash the Tissot watch, I refuse to pay 50% of a new watch to replace the crown. TOTAL LOSS.

Steer clear

What a con. You buy a prestige brand and expect it to last. 17 years on they describe your watch as vintage and tell you they no longer do spares/replacement parts for it. Offer a time limited voucher "as a loyal customer" of £250 that can only be used on a purchase over £500 and can only be redeemed on their website products!!!!!!
My equivalent watch is over £1,000 on their site.
They charge a mint to change the battery and service the watch in it's lifetime then throw you out with the bathwater.
Wouldn't go anywhere near them ever again.
Swiss quality? Customer focus?
Steer well clear of Tissot

Scammers

Poor customer service. The watch has been in warranty twice now. Both times the work somehow falls outside the warranty and will cost £100 plus. Selfie the first time and got the work done with the promise of the warranty next time. Won’t you later same result trying to charge me another hundred pounds. Sharks. Do not buy from this company.

2nd watch, Tissot just falls short.

2nd watch, Tissot just falls short.

This is the second Tissot Watch I have bought, the 1st was the Tissot T Touch, it was returned to Tissot twice as the bezel fell off twice. It took ages to repair, but came back as good as new.
So I have now bought the Tissot T Touch Solar Connected. I love the watch, it feels premium, is light to wear and does what it says on the tin.
I did have an issue setting it up and connecting it to my phone.
The phone is a new google pixel so I would have thought all should be good.
The app wouldn't let me use the same email as my Tissot account, so I had to use a different email for the app.
Then connecting the two, thank fully after sales were on hand, and after two phones calls and a set of instructions, plus a bit of fiddling on my part, we got there in the end.
This is one area that really does need addressing, hence the 4 stars. I was about to give up and ask for another watch when it all came together, but it should have been seamless.
Overall I am more than happy with the watch, the app needs to improve as does the syncing.
Tissot, you are nearly there! Keep going.

TISSOT needs to be SHUT DOWN

I needed help with changing my delivery address. The order was just labelled, and I contacted customer service and was in contact with Anwar. They told me I gotta contact the Sales team. I talked with Mark from the sales team, who told me they cannot change the delivery address. SO i contact UPS where they told me that it is a LIE, and told em only the sender can change the delivery address, and showed me a url where it literally says they have delivery interception options, but only the sender can do it.

So today is Friday, while i went back to talk to Mark, they were already out of the office, so i went back to talk to Anwar, not only it took me 15 minutes to confront him and tell him what I exactly wanted because he started giving me false hopes as if "Sales team is out now, but I'm writing everything down and will get this right for you" - and when i told em how can you guarantee this? cause if i trust you and wait, since you don't work on weekends, on Monday the item is going to be delivered to a wrong address. He told me to give him a second to look into it, and disappeared for 5 minutes, after that he just closed the chat, and finished his working day.

For the context; I bought $1095 worth watch for my boyfriend as it's our anniversary. Since my boyfriend lives in Armenia, I used an address of a shipping company so that tey ship it on my behalf. So while Mark told me, "we don't send to straight shipping company addresses" - he didn't do anything about it. Now my order is going to that shipping company's address - where they are going to send it to Armenia, where I'd have to pay $500 customs, which I can't afford. And since I can't afford it, the item is going to stay in customs, and if it stays there for more than 10 days, the company will just take the item and won't return it. In short, I just lost $1095 worth of watches, because TISSOT has incompetent employees, who lie straight to your face like Mark did.

Shame on all of you!
