Steer clear from TileRight Capalaba
We recently engaged TileRight for a full bathroom renovation. The demolition and tiling stages progressed at a reasonable pace; however, a number of issues throughout the project made the overall experience disappointing.
The most significant recurring issue was a lack of proper documentation. Several key details discussed during the quoting stage were never formally recorded, including our request for navy grout to match the tiles. As a result, external contractors had to be engaged at short notice to complete the epoxy grouting, resulting in an additional cost of $1,300. Similarly, a brushed brass floor waste that had been agreed upon early in the project required multiple follow-ups and still arrived incorrectly, causing further delays.
Communication was also inconsistent throughout the renovation. Messages often went unanswered, progress payment invoices were issued on the same day payment was expected, and we were only informed late in the project that measuring for the shower screen was outside Rodney’s scope of work. There were also workmanship concerns with some of the wall tiling that required rectification, and Rodney did not attend the site to inspect the work before grouting commenced.
While some aspects of the renovation were completed to a good standard and we were happy to pay fairly for the work performed, there were additional issues that detracted from the overall result. For example, the bathroom mirror was installed noticeably out of level.
Unfortunately, the combination of poor documentation, communication shortcomings, workmanship concerns, and unexpected additional costs means we would not feel comfortable recommending TileRight for a renovation project of this scale. It was also disappointing that a project initially estimated to take 14 days ultimately extended to seven weeks.
