I ordered a design chair that should…
I ordered a design chair that should have been covered by a genuine black leather. There wasno black leather but an artificial black polyurethane cover. On top of that, the furniture cannot be assembled because there are some defaults. I hope the customer servise will sort out the return without problems, but so far I have a quality problem.

I placed an order for a mirror on March 6, with an expected fulfillment time of 6-8 weeks. The initial shipping date was scheduled for the end of April, but it has since been pushed back to May 2, then May 18, May 24, and now May 30.
I understand that delays can occur, but I have not received a clear explanation for these changes. Every time I’m reaching out to customer service they apologise for shipping delays and BSing me with production delays due to extensive quality control to meet their high standards! We are talking here about simple no frame mirror, not a moon rover! All what I am asking for is an honest update on the order status, but, obviously it’s too much to ask for.

I do like the chairs. They are sturdy, comfortable and look great. I will concur that this company is not super up-front about their shipping delays. I waited nearly 3 months for my chairs to be delivered. Customer service is prompt and friendly , but there was never a clear timeline until they actually loaded onto a FedEx truck in CA after cargo shipment from China.
You should note that you will have to assemble these chairs yourself. Takes about 25 min per chair. Easy to follow directions once you figure it out. Tools included. Several dowel holes were not drilled large enough, requiring sanding and a hammer, so that was frustrating. Chairs packed well, only one had minor damage. Little chunk of wood missing, but it’s underneath so I’ll keep it.

I ordered bar stools on January 15, 2026, finally cancelled my order on April 28th, as the shipping date kept changing, at least by 30 days. When looking at the product I ordered online, their website still says ships within 5 DAYS! Do not trust this! Very unhappy consumer here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing that happened was a charge on my credit card within 5 DAYS. I did get my money back once cancelling, but they had my money 3 months.

I have been a loyal customer for the past few years but was disappointed with my furniture arriving on time. I am please with the quality of the chairs that I ordered. However, the estimated time of delivery was pushed back numerous times.

**DON'T USE THORVALD & DESIGN**
I purchased 3 bar stools and 1 side chair on December 4, 2025, and here we are almost in May 2026 with no product and no reliable ship date.
For the past several months, I’ve been told the order is in the “final stages of production.” I received that same message back in February, and now I’m hearing the exact same thing again—along with a projected arrival date of May 27, 2026. At this point, it’s hard to trust anything being communicated to me.
While their response time is quick, the updates themselves have been consistently inaccurate. Each time I reach out, I’m told the order is delayed another month, or given the option to cancel. That’s not a solution—it’s deflection.
This entire experience has been frustrating and disappointing. If you’re okay waiting 6+ months with shifting timelines and no clear answers, this may be the company for you. Otherwise, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Terrible. This company is awful. Returns are virtually impossible. 14 day return policy which is ridiculous. You have to email someone who won’t give an answer and I’ve never been able to get a person at the number they list which is probably bogus. I would never buy from them again.

I recently placed a large order with Thorvald & Design, and while there was an unexpected delay in the production timeline, the customer service has been absolutely world-class.
Joe reached out early with a very transparent and personal update, making sure I felt supported rather than just another order number. When I reached out to discuss the lead time, Levi was incredibly professional and accommodating. He went above and beyond to find a generous solution that made the wait feel much more manageable.
It is rare to find this level of proactive, human-centric service in furniture retail. I am still eagerly awaiting my pieces, but based on the support from Joe and Levi alone, I wouldn’t hesitate to shop here again. Highly recommended!

Outstanding customer service
I’m giving Thorvald and design five stars because of their customer service. Both Levi and Noah were very helpful and very professional. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my order because I placed it in January and it is now the end of April and I still don’t have the stools. I’m disappointed of course because I really liked the stools. Thorvald and Design has beautiful furniture, but bear in mind that they’re located in Ireland, which I just found out.

My order was delayed from 6 weeks to 8 weeks to 10 weeks to 12 weeks and when I asked for a status update the agent immediately cancelled my order and issued a refund, after wasting 3 months of my time waiting. Absolutely garbage behaviour
