Guide was knowledgeable and made the tour interesting.
I arrived for what was supposed to be my only planned tour in Rome with the TOUR GUY, an 8:15am Colosseum tour that I had specifically booked based on the positive reviews I had read. After waking up early and making my way across the city, I was informed on arrival that the tour had been moved to 11:45am without any prior communication or option to cancel.
When I returned later that morning, the check-in area was complete chaos. Huge crowds, people cutting the line, and almost no direction or organization from staff.
Things only got worse once the tour began. Our guide informed us that we would not actually be receiving the Colosseum tour we had paid for. Instead, we were rushed through the Forum and Palatine Hill before being dropped off outside the Colosseum and told to enter on our own. We were instructed to call “The Tour Guy” if there were any problems with the tickets.
Everyone in our group had also had their tour times changed without notice, and more than half the original group never showed up, presumably because they had already made other plans for the day.
A very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend booking with this company.
The tour was great. Lori, our guide, was so personable and fun and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond in assisting me when I lost my jacket. Would recommend the tour. Siena was beautiful, and the winery experience was wonderful. Wish we had more time in San Gimignano though!
Federico was a fantastic tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and patient. There was not one question he didn’t have an answer to.
We booked a Coliseum tour with The Tour Guy, and apparently The Tour Guy sold us to another company. When our group arrived t the Coliseum we weren’t allowed into! Total rip off!
Eddy was welcoming, entertaining, informative and a great guide. His style drew you in to listen intently to better understand the amazing sites. His firsthand experience from decades of tours and earlier archeological digs as a student gives him an amazing depth of knowledge (ask him about his historic find)!
My wife Mary Jo and I from San Diego recently took the "Rome in a Day Tour," and it was absolutely phenomenal. Our tour guide, Erturk, was simply incredible. He was friendly, funny, kind, and incredibly informative throughout the entire day. Erturk masterfully navigated our group through the Vatican, the ancient Roman Ruins, and the Colosseum and so much more. He kept everyone together seamlessly while sharing a wealth of fascinating facts and captivating stories about Rome's rich history. We honestly cannot envision a better tour guide. There is so much information to take in that we would love to do this exact tour all over again—but only if Erturk is leading it! We highly recommend both this tour and Erturk to anyone planning a trip to Rome. Thank you for an unforgettable day!
Francesca was a fantastic guide. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable.
The guy really knew his stuff and we learned a lot. I would definitely recommend it. I was hoping for more different things to look at. Instead they focused on a few distinct items. I would have preferred less time on one piece of art and on more multiple different ones

Serena was great. Hit the best (new) parts of Palentine Hill. Great tour of the Colesseum. Serena’s English great and she was pleasant to be with. Even recommended a fabulous lunch place.
The ease with which we went from start to finish was impeccable. Our guide (Julia) was welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable about the region and history. Smooth excursion all around.
Great communication and clear instructions. Pleasure to deal with.
Gulia was fantastic and a great tour guide!
Amazing tour in Rome of the Coliseum. The tour guide has a PhD in archaeology!
Tour guide was nice. However, the tour was very rushed. We saw zero art in the Vatican museum. We never even went that way. We only saw sculptures and tapestries. The guide did not pause long enough for pictures and in a semi private group she never offered to take one picture of the guests in a special place. (I booked 5 semi private tours and this was the only one where the guide did not offer to take a single picture of the guests in front of a special place). The tour guide’s English was very difficult to understand so I cannot comment on how knowledgeable she was. This was the most disappointing tour of the week.

Our guide was a wealth of knowledge.
The pace was good not too fast, or too slow.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. The pace of the tour was excellent, and we felt we were able to see everything we hoped to and more.
Giovanni saved the Colosseum! Not only was he knowledgeable, engaging, friendly and humorous, Giovanni and his partner truly were worth the price of the tour to just get us through all of the lines and check points to get into the Colosseum. Great tour, great guide. We were initially disappointed that the Underground was cancelled, but didn't miss it in the end.
