Too difficult to unsubscribe

Like the many reviews before me, I also give a bad review due to the difficulties that I faced in trying to cancel my subscription. I really think that companies who make it difficult for customers to cancel a subscription should be penalised. Firstly the Times makes is difficult for you to find out how to cancel your subscription and when you eventually find the area of the website with the information that you need (this information is not in your subscription section, not in account section or any of the usual places!) you find out that anyone in the UK or Ireland that wants to cancel their subscription has to phone them! What a waste of both their personels time and the customers time. I spent 10 minutes on hold and then a minute or two speaking to their representative. A very very nice man, Anish, took my call, and he couldn't have been nicer. But in all it was such a waste of time when a simple click button on their website would have sorted it.

cancelation made impossible

their cancellation options are atrocious! i spent 60min on the phone as there was no other way to cancel online subscription. you get to one team, they take all your details only to tell you they cannot cancel and they will put u through to another team! its a joke! how many people just keeping paying for the service, because its impossible to cancel! completely against all customer rights I would say!

Unable to communicate about subscription

I have telephoned The Times and followed it up with 3 emails about my subscription. It seems very odd that a company that is in the business of writing and publishing is unable to write an email back to me.
3 emails..... all unanswered.

Don't waste your money on this pathetic excuse for a company.

Absolutely pathetic censorship for…

Absolutely pathetic censorship for subscribers. Draconian moderation with totally unfathomable "rules" and no chance of any right of reply.

They have a completely useless complaints service; you can complain as much as you like, you'll just be ignored. Forget getting any kind of response.
The "Freedom of speech" they hold so dear to journalism obviously doesn't apply to the subscribers. The obviously don't understand the meaning of the word "irony" - google "the times view on social media censorship chilling effect

Sadly I paid up front for my subscription so I'm stuck with it for a few more months. I won't be renewing.

Devious Subscription System

Devious and underhand subscription system that facilitates cheap initial memberships that are easy to sign up for (online), then not so easy to cancel (over then phone).

I called to cancel during my £1 for six months subscription as I didn't use it (I am still within the six months) only to be told that I will be charged £4.99/month for another 6 months, whether I cancel or not!

"It's in the terms and conditions" they said!

Shameful behavior from The Times.

Crap cancellation policy

Unable to cancel without calling them at specific times of day - insane practise when you can sign up anytime through the website...
