We had an excellent experience with The Solar Co. From the get go they were personable, spot on with communication and very knowledgable. The after care support we are now continuing to receive remains the same. Would highly recommend getting in touch with them if you are seeking to get work done in this area.

Ours is an installation on a flat roof at the rear of a loft conversion, in a conversation area in Ken & Chelsea. This means there are restrictions on what can be done, but Mark and Geoege were very familiar with the rules and confident in recommending what was allowed.

They made good suggestions and dealt well with my (many) questions patiently and swiftly, before we settled on an optimum plan. This even made use of some scaffolding that was on the next building, making the whole installation as cost-effective as possible. We went from enquiry to plan to installation in 4 weeks

Installation was also very efficient. The team was onsite at 0730 and had finished the whole job - panels, inverter, battery, Uninterruptable Power Supply and car charger - by 1500hrs, when the system started working. They worked hard, were unfailingly polite, took off shoes indoors, and tidied up well.

They promise ongoing support and help with tarrifs, etc so I am looking forward to many years of good service. Thanks!

We were very impressed with the Solar Co from when they first came to price up solar panel, battery and EV charger installation. Impressed with their drone that could check the two flat roofs they could go on! Prompt contact around cost and various questions we thought of subsequently so we decided to go with them. The team that attended with George to fit it all were very pleasant, polite and tidy! The electrician and George both helped setting up the two apps and patiently explained how they worked, a very simple process. We are very pleased with the outcome and look forward to the savings 😁.

From the very first enquiry, the team responded quickly and professionally. George took the time to properly understand my motivations for installing solar, ensuring the system was tailored to what mattered most to me rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution. His communication style was also perfectly pitched to my level of knowledge, which made the whole process feel clear and collaborative.

The initial site visit was excellent and immediately built trust and confidence in the delivery. The projections provided were transparent and helpful, clearly outlining expected benefits, as well as recommended tariffs and overall strategy.

Mark’s pre-installation survey was equally thorough, capturing all the detail needed to ensure a smooth installation and reinforcing confidence in the team.

Installation day itself was seamless. The team were respectful, worked around parking restrictions without issue, and left everything clean and tidy. The system looks great, and the extra touch of cleaning the roof lights while they were up there didn’t go unnoticed.

Post-installation, George shared a comprehensive Google Drive folder containing photos, product manuals, and all certification, which was incredibly helpful.

Since installation, generation has been strong, setting up the export tariff was straightforward, and I’m already seeing the financial benefits.

I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering solar.

I am writing to share a very poor experience with The Solar Co, which stands in complete contrast to the many positive reviews I see here. After sending a detailed enquiry regarding a sensitive conservation area project on in SW London I was contacted by a representative named George.
I am amazed by the high rating this company holds, as my interaction was anything but professional. Despite my clear written brief regarding Wandsworth Council planning requirements, George was dismissive, claiming it was unnecessary to contact them. He also disregarded my need for integrated panels on a 1920s slate roof, a specific requirement for this conservation area, stating it was not necessary but they could do it if I really wanted it. He stated it was fine if they were not seen from the road. This information is incorrect and suggests a lack of attention to local planning constraints.
The conversation felt like a pushy, fast-talking sales pitch. I was repeatedly interrupted while trying to explain my requirements for a full home backup system and solar charging. George suggested all I needed was a battery-only solution despite my explicit request for solar panels to reduce my bills.
While older reviews mention "clear communication" and "bespoke service," my experience was of a salesperson who was rude and unwilling to listen. Compared to other companies I have been in touch with for this project and a quote, who have been incredibly thorough and proactive with councils, The Solar Co fell significantly short. They also charge for any initial site visit and consultation which no other company I have been in touch with does. If you have a property that requires careful planning and a technical, collaborative approach, I would advise looking elsewhere. If at this initial stage I can't even finish a sentence to explain what I want trusting such a company with a bespoke project at a considerable expense would not be my choice.

The Solar Co came up with the most appealing quote, seemed very professional, carried out the work to a high standard and when there were some issues 9 months later they came out and fixed them for free.

I got 5 quotes for solar panels for our roof. Many other companies come up with a quote without coming to your home, they just use satellite images but I found out the hard way that this method is not accurate. Other companies didn't take what I wanted onboard or were very expensive. George came out to the house with his drone and camera and measured all the dimensions. I told him that I wanted lots of solar panels and he managed to fit 21 panels on the roof. The quote was a reasonable price and he took my considerations on board.

The install was pretty quick and was done well with minimal disruption. They gave a good tutorial on how it all works and had suggestions for tariffs. They provided very good aftercare.

Around 9 months after install the bird mesh came loose. At first George and Mark found it hard to believe that it could have happened without something tearing the mesh off but they came out to the house and agreed to fix it which they have now done. It seems as though they don't expect this type of thing to happen to them because they have high standards. I don't expect a 0% chance of things going wrong, what's more important is how the company reacts when things do go wrong and in this respect I think the Solar Co were very good.

So I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to install solar. I'm very happy with the outcome.

We had a great experience with The Solar Co. from start to finish. They recommended the right EV charger for our needs and explained everything clearly before the installation.

The installation itself was carried out professionally and efficiently. Mark and George were punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable. They made sure everything was set up properly and took the time to show us how to use the charger and the associated app.

Both the internal and external work were completed neatly and to a very high standard, and communication throughout the process was excellent.

We requested Solar panels and storage to be installed having been recommended The Solar Co.
The pre install and discussions about how many panels, size, location and battery capacity was easy, friendly and very straight forward.
The day of install was staggeringly fast, starting at 8 am and completing at 4pm.
As soon as the power was connected we started generating electricity despite it not being sunny.
An excellent service both pre and post.
One thing to note is that the setting up of the link between inverter and router was done discretely and very quickly at the time of the install.
But if for any reason you change or update your router, the procedure to link the App to the system is quite complex, somewhat baffling and requires patience and a steady hand. Especially if you're doing it remotely.
Happily for us, George took us through the steps one by one so we managed to reconnect everything as before.

I don’t normally do reviews, but I have to review this company as they really were excellent. The Solar Co installed an extensive system for me with panels across 3 roofs – back in 2024. They were the lowest quote but absolutely superb in terms of their professionalism, knowledge, communication and delivery of the project. Mark and George are great to deal with. I really wanted to write this review now as they have just come back (Jan 2026) and saved me from a flood – they have a roofing company they work with as well and they got them up there re-did my flat roofs almost instantly – removing the panels and replacing them afterwards seamlessly. The quality of that work too was excellent and communication great. I’ve had a lot of work done on my old house and usually something goes awry- but these folks are the best.

We found the Solar Company to be very response and answered all queries promptly. They were clear and concise in what they were going to do and delivered what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to it. The installation was superb and they used scaffolding that provided safe access to the roof to install the panels. They were clean and tidy and the installation was straightforward taking care of our house. A local company that were brilliant and efficient.

George, Mark and the team did a great job getting our solar install in - despite the fact that our house kept throwing up challenges. The experience began well - no unnecessary upselling, a conversation about what our requirements were and a discussion that allowed us to get a system specified that met our needs with a bit of headroom and that was affordable. As the job went on and the aforementioned obstacles were thrown up, the team got things sorted quickly and always had a plan to adapt. The roofers that they worked with were top notch and did a fantastic renovation of our flat rooves to take the panels. All in all a great installation. I have to specifically call out the quality of advice and guidance throughout - things were recommended that were far from the easy option for them, but they were the right option.

George was very responsive. Came to see us promptly and provided a very competitive quotation. The work was carried in a timely fashion. All of the installation team were professional, courteous, skilled and friendly. We would highly recommend The Solar Co.

I contacted The Solar Co. when my solar panel meter went blank. George Penny came to investigate 2 days later and the problem was solved in minutes. He was pleasant, efficient, explained clearly what he did and why, and was patient with my rather clueless questions. I have often wondered what I would do if I had a problem with my panels. Now I know who to call!

We contacted The Solar Co after our inverter stopped working and George was super responsive and helpful. He came round to check out our current installation and gave us a couple of quotes (one to fix the problem and the other to install a battery). We ended up going for the latter and within a month we were back up and running better than before. Dan, Matt and the installation team did a fantastic job and worked so efficiently. They explained the new system to us really well and the team have been so responsive with questions we have had afterwards as well.
