As it was my birthday I decided to take my family to the Rake and riddle in Penclawdd. Our sitting for all twelve of us was for 12 noon and having arrived a quarter of an hour early we ordered drinks - after waiting for over half an hour my son called an assistant and asked why our order hadn't arrived. Eventually the drinks came but no apology tendered. Subsequently we had to call a waitress to take our food order. We left the establishment at 2.45pm feeling rather disappointed at the abysmal service received. Whilst the food was very good the service left a lot to be desired. My family and I have visited this establishment several times since it opened but would probably choose to go elsewhere in future.
