Very good I'm now 95% done and very impressed with the pergula. I'm old school and the you tube instructions do not impress me. Some paper instructions especially with the super setup would help alot.

Let me start off by saying that Patrick Hill is the star in my pergola buying experience. His personalized attention, patience, sense of urgency, and a clear understanding of the value of post-sale customer support make his service extraordinary.

I was in the market for a pergola last year, when I came across multiple videos of this product on YouTube. What stood out was the sincerity and authenticity with which the information was shared, combined with easy-to-grasp product comparisons and explanations of wind and snow loads etc. However, I didn't have the budget and went the cheap route - had issues right from the beginning, culminating in an emergency replacement need.

I researched multiple products, but kept coming back to the value proposition of The Luxury Pergola. Both brothers are crystal clear on what the objective of their product is - sturdiness, durability, and reliability. Given that my backyard is a wind tunnel, that was quite important to me.

What sold me in was 4 factors:
1) Patrick - Prompt, responsive, and willing to answer every question with patience and clarity
2) Free product sample - Confirmed what I saw the videos
3) YouTube videos
4) The non-corporate appoach and ethic - The interaction felt personal, non-judgemental, non-forceful, and understanding of the customer's thought process

The packaging was stellar, and the attention to detail top-notch. Harrison's instructional videos are solid. And so was Patrick's continued support through the installation process.

Now for a few observations and suggestions:

1) TRUE DIY? MAYBE. The product is second to none when it comes to strength, sturdiness, and reliability. The wind and snow ratings are utterly believable when you see the material in person - it's aircraft-grade indeed. And it's heavy - better to go with a contractor in my personal opinion

2) INTEGRATED OPTIONS - The product delivers on the core promise, but could benefit from offering integrated lighting and screen options like some other companies do. Not every customer has strength and durability as the first driving factor in mind - some are looking for a one-stop shop. I get the DIY part, but if I got lighting and screen solved for as part of the pergola build itself instead of ordering from multiple places and working with multiple contractors, it would help reach a wider audience.

3) SOCIAL MEDIA / COMMUNITY - I feel a sense of pride in my purchase and this product, and I am sure others do too. A community page on Facebook could go a long way in doing 2 things:

A) Get a lot of DIY questions answered by other members who are passionate about sharing their own experiences (e.g., What waterproof fan did you install on the center beam and how? Did you run wires inside the posts? How do you get a screen installed inside the posts when you have those 4 screws sticking out?)

B) Reduce customer service overhead for the company because community members are already performing that job, which in turn helps direct resources towards sales, marketing, and outreach.

I am very happy with my purchase, and I know the product will last a lifetime, just like its warranty. Again, a big shout-out to Patrick. He is the primary reason I have The Luxury Pergola now standing tall and magnificent in my backyard.

What made my experience great :
(1) The quality of the Pergola.
(2) The staff (Chase) helping with the purchase and support during the assembly.
(3) Final product is awesome.
(4) Very strong/solid pergola, while any wind is not a problem.
(5) Finished paint looks great

Excellent product but need to be more customer friendly. By this I mean don’t just put a video on YouTube, put detailed instructions in the units. Which screws go were. You could take a page from IKEA’s playbook. You need to have detailed instructions throughout the process, including pictures and drawings.

We purchased the 10'x20' Pergola and installed it a week ago. It was immediately put to the test with two consecutive days of very strong winds - strong enough that many people were still without power after the winds subsided. My entire house sounded like it might blow over. I frequently checked the pergola, which had the louvers closed, and it didn't budge during the strongest of gusts.

I installed this pergola myself, with the help of a couple people. We were able to get the frame up and mounted in about 3 hours, and my wife and I installed the louvers in about another 3 hours after our help had left. I spent a little extra time custom cutting my posts and re-drilling the pilot holes to accommodate my patio's 3 inch grade over 20 ft. I installed directly on pavers with concrete footers beneath so I had to buy 6 inch concrete anchors instead of using the supplied 3 inch anchors.

The customer service at Luxury Pergola is just as awesome as their product. Patrick was very helpful in answering my many technical questions or getting me in touch with someone who could answer my questions. He would even email/text me outside of their work hours.

One thing I wished, prior to installing myself, was that they had a written manual to quickly reference screw sizes, parts, steps, etc. Perhaps there is one that I didn't find or ask for. I also wished they would have performed some installations on less than ideal surfaces - sloped surfaces, over pavers, possibly show how to custom cut, etc. However, it turned out perfect so I didn't really need it!

Overall, awesome company and awesome product. We can't wait to get the sun shade screens when we can recover financially from all the work we have done on our house recently!

Luxury Pergola is very "customer oriented". When I first considered purchasing from them I had some questions and dialed their number they advertise on their website (I forgot it was Sunday) but to my surprise the owner picked up the phone and answered all my question and sent numerous videos for me to watch.

After finalizing the size of the pergola (needed to wait until pool deck was poured to confirm available space) I ordered my pergola in October 2023, with a delivery date for mid February which corresponded with pool completion and fence installation.

The delivery of the pergola was outstanding. My pergola came in 19 boxes, all well marked and extremely well packed. These boxes are not easy to move because of the weight and dimensions, two men minimum job. Reviewing the installation videos (numerous times) will make installing the pergola go as advertised. All the required items they recommend having on hand will be needed at some time during the install. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't change a thing!

Now for the not so good (which is not much). I ordered my pergola with two shade side. Knowing that, I did not order base trim because the shade side interferes with the base trim and you need to cut the trim pieces. Also when I ordered, if you did not select base trim, the post bases would come powder coated the same color of the pergola you ordered. Well sometime between ordering in October and delivery February Luxury Pergola made changes to their process. The post bases now come NOT powder coated and they have free base trim that covers the NOT powder coated area. But that trim STILL need to be cut or altered if you have shade sides! I wish Luxury Pergola would have let me know of the changes before delivery (only breakdown in communication) because I would have told the to keep their new base trim and ask them to powder coat my poll bases as advertised.

SAFETY: As I mentioned above my pergola is by my pool. I have three grandchildren (10, 7 and 1) who will be in and around the pool and pergola. During my attempt to attach the free base trim, three of the pins sent broke during install. So I went back to videos showing how to install of trim and you will notice them having difficulty in getting it right. I attempted putting three base trims together, all came out looking awful and that is not my biggest grip, THE CORNERS ARE EXTREMELY SHAPE AND EVEN MADE CUT MAKES ON MY LEATHER WORK GLOVES!
RECOMMENDATION: Rework base trim, not safe. Don't just sent it and say it free, let buyers decide what will work for them.

The side were not delivered with the original order (I was not told this, just figured it out when I ran out of boxes). The sides came about three weeks later, again extremely well packed and straight forward install (watch video).

I do woodworking and I am customizing 4 base trims that will be SAFE, won't interfere with sides, will allow drainage post to drain and allow for electrical post and wiring.

Well made, high quality product. I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with the construction of the pergola and the excellent service that I received. The order was shipped and delivered exactly as described, in a timely manner and with no issues. I was able to track the driver and was called about 1 hour before delivery. Well done and thank you for such a great addition to our home.

I ordered a material sample, the ordering process was short and simple. The product arrived as scheduled. The quality and strength of the material is the best I've seen for over 30 years and I have seen and used Pergolas throughout the years. Whatever size you get. I'm sure it will outlast your lifetime and your children's. I recommend this product to anyone who wants the most superior product on the market.

Customer Service has been top notch. Chase and Brandon are always quick to respond to my many questions. I just received my delivery, loved the tracker app, was able to go about my day and plan when I needed to be home. The TQL truck driver was courteous and helped me off load the boxes.

I continue to be impressed with Luxary Pergola. I have not seen such detail/care in packaging materials in a long time.

And I am blown away at the weight and heavy duty structure of the base piece that I took out of one box. Now it makes sense regarding the recommendation to use 20 inch diameter sonotube for the footers.

Looking forward to getting this put together.

We had been looking for a pergola to shade our patio for some time and had reviewed other DIY products as well as had several bids by local contractors that were significantly more expensive.
We stumbled on The Luxury Pergola while researching an imported competitor. We were impressed, but like many people, concerned because this was an online purchase and we couldn’t find much in the way of reviews.
Since we live about 4 hours away, we decided to travel to Indiana and see the product in person.
We were incredibly impressed! Not only is this pergola built solidly, but it is taller than most products out there which would work better for what we wanted to do. We met with Brendan and bought a super-pergola (20X22) with a 20 foot shade screen, before we headed home that day.
Our pergola was built by three old guys aged 66-72 (and a little help from a material lift). The truck arrived as expected and was unloaded quickly (we had a great delivery driver!) and organized to start the building that day. Everything was very well packaged and labeled which made the process easier. All of the YouTube videos were helpful to make sure we had the tools we needed ready to go.
Throughout our pergola journey, Brendan was there to answer questions, give us helpful tips, and keep us informed. We wanted the pergola up close to our house and he helped us figure out how to do that with engineered drawings. Our city is known for its tough permit standards and we had presented the drawings with the permit request. We had the building commissioner and two permit inspectors comment on how well built this product is.
Besides the integrity of both the pergola and the company that makes it, we were also impressed that all of this is sourced and built in the US. Not many other companies can say that.

Don’t make the mistake of trying to buy a cheap imported imitator. This pergola is more than a shade structure for a house — it has become an extension of our home here in Texas.

Recently purchased a property with a pretty barren backyard that needed some loving. Going the traditional route of hiring a local builders, having a designer come out, mock everything up digitally, paying for laborers etc, we were getting quotes exceeding 20k. Instead, going with the kit from luxurypergola and spending an weekend putting it up with the help of some buddies, we saved thousands but still got that expensive look. Recommend for anyone who's handy and looking to save on ridiculous labor costs these days.
