Poor communication and product still hasn't arrived after 6 days,I called and they have said it hasn't left the Australian branch yet...so possibly another week..wouldn't deal with again.

No NZ stock
Website makes this out to be a company with stock in NZ, however everything was shipped from Australia, 6 weeks later nothing has arrived and customer services have washed their hands. Would never buy or recommend this company
paid on the 1st June, no reply, no update 25th
Ordered and paid on the 1st June, as today the 25th, not contact regarding any delay or anything
Ignored my emails, had to call the number, lady was helpful but seems the internal communication is a problem, companies website states "fast delivery" 9 days to get a tracking number, parcel is being held with MPI for a specific reason
Website is misleading, they are not possessional.
I would give them a lower score if possible, 1 is far too generous
Rather $#@! In my hands and clap, happily, than use this pathetic excuse of a business
The Lighting Outlet's service is terrible.
My experience with The Lighting Outlet NZ was terrible; my order shipped late and was not the correct order. I contacted them and they didn't apologize, refused to process a refund, refused to process a return (in fact, they said, in writing 'we don't offer returns or refunds for NZ customers'!). When they finally agreed to send the missing parts I'd paid for weeks before, it was held up. Still haven't received the parts. It's taken so long without getting what we ordered that I've had to buy a replacement unit locally. Just awful service.
Never have accurate stock. Bad communication
They NEVER have accurate stock counts and are slack in communications. It took 12 days from time of order to then contacting us to say the light was out of stock.
Returns are non-existent and also exchanges are very, very difficult. Its a real pain to deal with this team.
🤬I have had terrible customer service…
🤬I have had terrible customer service from here, I ordered something on the 15th of May, it is now 15th June and still do not have my item. The item got recalled by them due to it being damaged in transit before even making it to me. Not once have they told me this nor has another one been shipped nor have they responded to my 3 emails regarding this item. We have now had to log a claim with our credit card company instead and logging a formal complaint with the Companies Office. BEWARE of this company.
Terrible
Terrible. Slow delivery. Claiming to be an NZ company but being run from Aus!
I have been waiting for my lamp for…
I have been waiting for my lamp for ages and do not get any updates, don't order here, it may never arrive.
Avoid this company
Avoid this company. The light that we purchased turned up a different colour than the one displayed on their website, yet the company sticks with their no returns policy despite the false advertising.
Sent the wrong colour lighting
Sent the wrong colour lighting, refuses to send replacements or refund. Sent photos to prove the very obvious mistake. On the boxes did not say anything about cool white or daylight colouring so only realised after paying for electrician to install. Really upsetting.
Faulty product and refused to refund or fix
Bought a $650 fan that was faulty, they refused to take it back for a refund or fix the issue. Ended up having to throw the fan away and buy a new one from a more reputable supplier. Do not buy lights from these guys!
Outdoor lights not suitable for outdoor use
Outdoor lights are not suitable for outdoor use - they rust within 3 months even while installed in a non-coastal area in NZ.
Went' back to supplire who simply said rust is normal. Worksafe NZ opened an investigation after we reported them. Waiting outcome...
Provided wrong info and penalized
I purchased two wall lights and sent an email to ask what is the best lightbulb. Was provided options and I brought 4x E27 lightbulbs at approx $40 each. I received them (one was broken) and when I went to install the bulb was wrong. It needed E14. I emailed asking for replacement or refund and was told to provide photos and was offered 15% refund. So weird! They gave me the incorrect information and I'm penalized. Since then I've seen people have issues when something goes wrong so order and hope for the best or AVOID and save yourself the hassle and expense.
Holding $900 will not refund only issue an expiring credit
Ordered 4 ceiling fans. Were the wrong size - returned quickly via DHL in original packaging and requested full refund. Was issued a credit "Gift Card" - and follow up 6 months saying our credit will expire in August 2023. We purchased these fans with money NOT a gift card. But because the credit is now a "gift Card" they can under consumer law "expire" the gift card. It implies that the goods were purchased by a "gift Card" - which they were not.
Its terrible customer service and poor refection on the companies ethos. We do not and did not want a credit note we want a full refund (less the restocking fee that was deducted).
Amount is $900 so not insignificant. Plus how can a credit (now Gift Card) of $900 expire.
We wish to be credited to our bank account or credit card asap. To no avail.
Accounts Credit dept quoted consumer rules/regs and bought forward an opportunity to extend Credit note a further 6 months. Still beleive this is unacceptable and worry what if we had pourchased $3-4 K of goods and unable to get a refund. First time we had used this company - wanted to suppoort Austalian - as we renovate many properties - but will not use them again due to poor refunds/return policy and withholding cash refunds. Eventually after over a year used all the credit note. Some products we tried to buy out of stock or in the case of bedside lamps only one in stock. Loads of options and good delivery but due to the "gift voucher" refund will not use again.
