Disappointed
At first I was positive about this organisation, the booking process was flawless.
But during my sailing trip in the Seychelles numerous things went wrong. Short story: - a cranky and drunk captain, which was replaced mid week after a huge fight with the rest of the crew - spent the last half day at the quay waiting for a fuel truck that didn’t come - an itinerary that wasn’t followed up … and honestly the whole week hardly any sailing happened. (And there was plenty of wind)
All not GS fault. I wrote them a kind and complete mail with my feedback the day of deboarding, but after three weeks still no reply. (They did confirm receipt of my mail)
It hurts me, after all it cost me almost €2800.

WARNING: Globe Sailor Offers NO Protection or Value - Book Direct Instead

They Take Your Money But Provide ZERO effective Support When Things Go Wrong (all words!)
I used Globe Sailor as a booking agent for a €8,000+ yacht charter, believing they would provide protection and support. This was a costly and time consuming mistake.
What Went Wrong
**Multiple paid services never provided:**
**Boat misrepresented:** Advertised as sleeping 9 people, but one "cabin" was actually unusable wet storage. We paid for 9 berths but only got 8.
**Communication failure:** Never ensured an introduced to our captain until we arrived, causing complete chaos with provisions and supplies.
**Safety issues:** Only glassware provided for children's drinks (resulted in broken glass and injury).
Globe Sailor's "Service": NOTHING
When I contacted Globe Sailor about these issues:
- ❌ Could not get us refunds for services we paid for but never received
- ❌ No effective advocacy with the boat owner/operator
- ❌ No compensation for misrepresented accommodation
- ❌ No resolution for communication failures
- ❌ Essentially told us to deal with it ourselves
What You're Actually Paying Globe Sailor For: NOTHING
Globe Sailor adds their commission to your booking cost. In return, you get:
- A booking you could make directly yourself
- NO protection when services aren't delivered
- NO leverage when things go wrong
- NO customer support beyond forwarding emails
- NO refund assistance
- NO accountability from the boat operator
**You are literally paying extra for NOTHING.**
The Reality
Globe Sailor is just a middleman who takes a cut and leaves you exposed. When €600 of paid services weren't provided, they were completely useless in helping us recover our money.
My Advice: BOOK DIRECT!
- Contact boat operators directly
- Negotiate your own terms
- Save the commission Globe Sailor charges
- Have direct relationship with the operator if issues arise
- Actually have leverage when things go wrong
At least when you book direct, you're not paying extra for a "service" that provides literally nothing when you need it.
Bottom Line
Globe Sailor is a parasitic middleman charging for protection they don't provide. Our €8,000+ holiday was significantly marred by their negligence, and they couldn't even help us recover €600 for services we paid for but never received.
Save your money. Book direct with a charter provider. Globe Sailor is worthless.

Very efficient, well priced and trustworthy
Alec really understood the type of boat and sailing holiday we wanted. He was quick to get us quotes and they were discounted substantially from the prices I’d researched independently. It’s given me so much more confidence in booking our charter knowing that we have the backing of this large company.
