Excellent customer experience again today after three visits in the last three weeks.

Excellent customer experience again today after three visits in the last three weeks. I met Tao today who helped me with her advice on hydrangeas. I bought a lot of flowers over the last three weeks and I each time all staff like Tao and Philipe at the front area with the bark etc were excellent. I rang ahead to find out if a certain garden product was in stock and was promptly called back to confirm it was. Ladies on reception/ till desk also very helpful. Definitely 5 Star Customer Service and Experience.

Out of sight out of mind

Sunday we went for a late lunch arrived just after 3 we waited in line with three other groups in front we seen many people leave but after 10 minutes the line did not move the people in-front got coffee and cake to go as they got feed up waiting. After 15 mins the group in-front(group of 3 like us) got shown to a table, we still waited and then a couple arrived and was offered a table straight away before us we were told as it was just a table for two, we would of taken it as at this stage as we were sick of standing(staff avoiding the area to monitor the queue) we weren't given the choice of a smaller table just left standing as this couple got offered the table when they only walked in the door. After nearly 25mins we got a table down the back to our shock when we sat down we noticed loads of empty tables a whole section completely empty, we did wonder why so many people left but the queue did not move.We ordered our food one egg and two sandwich and soup from the new truck, our drinks arrived we began to final settle in to be asked by the waitress to move tables as a group of 7 just arrived, we had to gather our drinks and cutlery ourselves and move yet I counted 8 empty tables around us(all beside each other too). But yet have to move in the middle of service shoved in a corner. I wish I did not move as at this stage it was clearly out of sight out of mind. The eggs arrived but the two sandwich’s didn’t we waited eventually after the eggs had been eaten, I went up and asked if the wait would be much longer for the sandwiches as I had enough and would of left, only then they remembered to go out and check the truck. I had to go up again to get staff to request a coffee and cake order as we were completely forgotten about shoved in the corner and the table for 7 seemed to be the staff main focus at this stage. The waitress then came over and asked us to pay the bill as closing which we did, happy to leave at this stage. All and all food was good but the service was shocking, after waiting so long for a table people getting to skip the queue after just walking in the door and not given the option to sit at a smaller table as we had one more person, then to be asked to move tables after waiting so long when more then half the room empty was ridiculous and made no sense. If I had known all that time we waited that it was half empty out the back I would of left as it was clear staff was not monitoring tables or the people waiting. We put in the corner and forgotten I also asked the waiter twice for a glass for the water as he only brought 2 glasses to a table of 3 he never brought the glass or more water so I got no water. I felt I had to keep reminding them we were there to busy chatting amongst themselves or serving the table of 7 (who just had cakes and coffees) it wasn’t overly busy at this stage like I said it was more the half empty out the back where we were sitting so couldn’t understand why we were being treated so poorly, we have been plenty of times before but today visit has made me rethink returning the service has definitely declined and staff didn’t seem bothered when I brought it to their attention.

DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION AT ITS BEST

We visited with our three sons who have autistic spectrum disorder. We asked if we could take two small chihuahuas in as they are assistance dogs for the boys, and it was agreed.

Once inside I was challenged by five different staff, curtly objecting to the tiny dogs being there.

I explained the dogs status as assistance dogs and while the staff said it wasn't company policy, reluctantly agreed. However the manager eventually accosted me and asked me to leave with them. I had pointed out their status and offered to show a blue disabled parking badge by way of evidence, but this wasn't accepted.

The boys were most upset by this fiasco and inconsistent decision-making by staff. It quite honestly ruined the day for them.

There is no certification for assistance dogs of this nature in N. Ireland, where we are from but it was suggested that if had a vest or lead to identify them as assistance dogs it would have been ok. This is nonsense as such items can be obtained from eBay by anyone and proves nothing.

On our way out, I later saw and overheard a group of staff who were doing an Instagram piece laughing about it.

Such a lovely garden centre, shame about the staff and their lack of compassion for the needs of the disabled.

Ordered 3 things on line

Ordered 3 things on line
Went next day for collecting
Asked assistant to have them ready after I had lunch
On my return was told one idem was unavailable ( Easter wreath)
Manager would refund my money , which happened
After a phone call to you to ask if they might be in again was told I’d get a call back
Never Happened
Do you wish to have return customers or not
This is not a good service
