What a lovely experience i had as I was taken here for my birthday, the staff made it a great experience for me and the food was very nice indeed, overall I had a wonderful experience and thankyou

Great food, Great staff and great prices.

I was quite disappointed with my Christmas dinner. The £60 per person cost did not seem to justify the quality, as the food was cold, the potatoes were overcooked, and there was a considerable wait for the gravy. Only the beef was cooked to my satisfaction. I do not plan to return.

On Thursday 5th December a group of us (20 in total) had our Xmas get together at your pub.I must say it was perfect the food was delicious and the Xmas pie was amazing.The staff looked after us so well and we wasn’t waiting for anything. Well done to all your staff everyone said they enjoyed the night x

Had Sunday lunch the carvery was excellent and the staff were really helpful and polite thank you 1/9/24

Having read recent reviews we decided to give this place another go to see if it had improved with new management. The answer to this is no! We had pre booked a table but had to wait 20 minutes in a queue just say we had arrived. Once seated we ordered from the app, after 45 minutes I went to ask how much longer it was likely to be only to have my head snapped off and told "you were told there would be a wait when we took your order" (obviously this was untrue as we ordered on the app and there no such information given). Anyway we were told it would be at least another 20 minutes. When the food did finally arrive it was barely edible, the chicken was so over done you could hardly chew it and the broccoli in the sizzling plate was cold and raw. Having waited so long to get the food and the staff being so rude it seemed pointless complaining. It was clearly understaffed and the staff they did have were under trained and overworked.

Not been up for a long while as last two or three occasions have not been impressed. Went today and Nina and her team have turned it round again. Food was amazing , staff were very smart and very attentive, service was a lot quicker than visits previously. Well done guys keep doing what you’re doing . Hope to come again soon

Have visited a couple of times. The sizzle n save meals were very good. We have a positive experience every time and the current staff are very good especially Sue.

I took my grandson for tea yesterday, hadn't realised this place was under new management, saw it was dog friendly, sorry I don't agree with animals being in food places I find it very unhygienic.
The food wasn't very nice, peas were cold and like bullets, meat not hot enough and not very tender.
Always used to like this place but certainly will not be visiting again

Last July I visited the Fox and Hounds and had a dreadful dining experience, for which I wrote a scathing review. Having heard it is now under new management, I visited it today with some family members. What a difference!! Everywhere was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. We will be going back soon. Especial thanks to Sue for making our visit so enjoyable.

We arrived on Saturday afternoon and was shown to the conservatory for our pre booked table. We ordered drinks which took 20 minutes to arrive. We then had the embarrassing situation of another party arriving who was also booked on our table, they just stood lingering while no staff were to be seen they then moved them into the restaurant.
We ordered our food all at the same time, it took 50 minutes to arrive but even better the staff member told us not to expect our meals at the same time so the meals were bought out staggered so as one person was finishing the others were only just getting there’s.
Anyway I got half way through the burger and the chicken was all mushy inside so I left it. My son’s burger was also pink.
I have spent the morning throwing up with awful stomach pains that have floored me.
The glasses were not clean nor was the cutlery.
We won’t be visiting again.

EDITED TO ADD:
I have had to visit my GP today and they have confirmed I have food poisoning and was dehydrated quite badly.
I have sent a complaint to the local council

Venue was expecting a large party, food was pre ordered - but they only had TWO kitchen staff, so service was VERY slow, food was poor (lukewarm, lacking flavour, poor quality)

What a great restaurant. Really good value for money. Lovely Sunday Carvery. Staff were really attentive even though it was busy. Would certainly recommend 😊

First time I have been up since July when I had my son 16th birthday their that was a let down but we went today for mothers day and to say the food was lovely and very hot and will definitely will be coming back soon

We visited intending to eat. BUT, we were put off by two large, drooling bulldogs allowed to sit on a leather settee. So, we sat outside on the picnic tables on the lawn, right next a pile of dog poo several days old, just where children might play. Wished we had read Tripadvisor reviews first.

I have added this para after the management reply. Drooling is the least concern; perhaps the dogs were leaving hook worm eggs on the seat for children to pick up? Or perhaps you tell children which part of the pub or lawns they cannot go in? I note the Tripadvisor review where a customer trod in dog poo, inside the restaurant, during the month you say there were no dogs inside. Since when has 30August to 18th September been "a month". Customers will decide.

I have added this para after the management amended their response claiming the dogs belonged to them - and not the elderly man who walked them in and was sat on the settee between them. Keep digging!!

Returned to try the Sunday Carvery after hearing the new Manager had made improvements.
There are no improvements to the food !!!!
Carvery meat was either turkey, beef or gammon but what spoilt it was the veg were all lukewarm to cold. Peas were like bullets, parsnips dried up and cold as was the carrots, potatoes and swede.
No serviettes available so went round other tables to help myself. It’s such a shame it used to be so busy and meals were really nice. Not going again sorry.

Went to the Fox and Hounds with my friends who came down from Scotland... Kiera, the Chef couldn't do enough to assist us as I have specific dietary needs and one of my friends has Autism and has specific dietary needs. Lisa, behind the bar was so friendly and professional, always eager to help us and nothing was too much.. Gabriel was out server and he was so professional and friendly, tending to our needs and going out of his way to make things nice. Overall, the quality of this pub has vastly improved under the new management of Colin and his Team!! The feel is always welcoming and the food hot and delicious!! I would highly recommend!

Lovely owners, food excellent,made us very welcome and dog friendly.

The food was excellent and then a walk around the park next door really topped off the day

Expensive for what it is... 2 course pub grub and a couple of drinks for 2, £85.... veg wasn't included in most of the meals which is basic... its nice enough but not for that price. I can go to my old local (not much futher away) with food just as good quality and an atmosphere just as lovely for half the price.
