The worst business interaction I've ever had, full stop!

It'll be hard to be constructive, but easy to be honest. I knew exactly what I wanted to accomplish when I met them. Once they had that information, they repeated it back to me to make the sale but as soon as the money was paid I was promptly steered in a completely different direction. I asked for a high-performance website; they misguided me into their "M3 Magnetic Marketing Machine" - something I never asked for and was never delivered anyhow. The price tag for this mysterious solution to all my problems was $10K, and I regret not having seen that warning sign sooner. These people struggled with even basic communication but had no problems when it came to demanding money - and for the entire project cost to be paid up front BEFORE any milestones were delivered. They spent over 12 weeks doing who knows what and when I refused to pay $2,500 to complete the $10,000 project cost, they sent me a video message saying "we've pulled out - forget everything." They tried to keep my $7,500 and deliver nothing in exchange. But, I fought back and won - getting most of the money back. But they were a total nightmare to work with - unprofessional, unprepared for the type of work they promised to do, and completely insensitive while maintaining their must "pay themselves and their employees first" stance. Both project owners spoke rudely and unprofessionally to me on several occasions but in the end it was a catastrophic failure producing nothing more than wasted time profiling my business in lieu of designing an actual website. I was pressured into signing an electronic form to approve a "concept for launch" which they then positioned as a 'point of no return' contract form to ensure that no matter what, they get paid. I learned a great deal by this experience but at a very high cost. I can't stress enough how little I think of them and hope that nobody else has to have an experience like I did.
