Taste great & easy to order

Have ordered mine and partner's birthday cakes for collection from the Leicester Wigston store for about 2/3 years now. Staff are always friendly/welcoming when entering the shop. Cakes always taste fresh and good price for the size of them.

Delicious cake, shame about the courier

Ordered from The Cake Solution for the first time for my son’s birthday. Unfortunately, the couriers were very careless with the package & the cake arrived all cracked, smooshed and damaged. The cake itself was absolutely delicious, and when I contacted TCS about the problem, they responded almost immediately and out of business hours. They too were disappointed with how the cake arrived & issued a refund without any issue.
Can’t fault them for taste or customer service. Shame about the courier. Will definitely try ordering again.

This is the Sutton Coldfield shop

This is the Sutton Coldfield shop
At first I thought I’d found a little gem of a coffee shop.
Been there several times and the staff were absolutely amazing, went out of their way to serve my coffee just as I like and always checked it was ok even offered to make another if it wasn’t to my liking, that never happened until! This happened.
The last twice I’ve visited have really put me off.
I visited the day of the food festival and looked forward to the usual great coffee and even ordered a sweet treat for myself and my friend.
I noticed that the staff were different and the person who served me seemed flustered, I ordered 2 coffees and 2 cakes and sat confident that I would have the usual good quality and great service, I paid by card and when I looked at the charge it didn’t seem enough for what I’d ordered so I asked the person who’d served me and she said I’d ordered and paid for 2 coffees and 2 cakes so I went to my table, when the order arrived there was one coffee and 2 cakes, i immediately went to the counter and as she was serving someone else I waited to explain my issue.
She said I’d only ordered one coffee but I said maybe you didn’t hear correctly, and asked for another coffee she didn’t apologise or get me another coffee but served someone else, all this time my friends coffee was going cold as I was at an outside table with my friend, I stood there waiting and had to ask again for another coffee she finally took the money for the coffee and started to do it when the previous customer came back to say she hadn’t given him any change, he said I gave you £20 note and loose change so you owe me £15 she again seemed flustered and gave him his correct change, I don’t think for one moment that she did this intentionally.
The cup of coffee she gave me tasted awful it was barely warm no froth and I’d asked for extra dry. I just put it down to experience and left it at that.
I had the misfortune to try again today hoping my last bad experience was just an off day for that member of staff.
Today there was 2 staff I’d not seen before but ordered 2 cakes and 2 coffees, again I sat outside with my friend the 2 coffees arrive but not the cakes I checked and I had paid for 2 coffees and 2 cakes. After a few minutes I went into the shop to ask about my cakes and the person said she’d bring them to me, by this time my coffee was cold! Still the cakes didn’t arrive so again after a few minutes I went to check where my cakes were, all she had to do was take the cakes from the shelf and put them on a plate.
When I asked the member of staff said they are there nodding at the top of the cake counter I will bring them shortly, totally disgusted by this time I cancelled my cake and took my friends out myself.
So disappointed because I was looking forward to my coffee and cake and the experience was stressful and unpleasant much like the cold coffee I ended up with. No way to treat customers.
