Don’t stay

We are regular customers and genuinely wanted this to become our go-to stay, especially as it’s dog friendly. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was extremely disappointing.

During our one of our night stays, there was a party taking place from 9PM until 8AM. We experienced constant noise throughout the night and had absolutely no rest. We tried calling the emergency number with no response and also messaged the Bells WhatsApp number in the early hours of the morning. Everything has been documented.

When you pay for apartment-style accommodation, you reasonably expect quiet enjoyment and a safe, peaceful environment. A full night of disturbance completely undermines the purpose of the stay. The property itself is nice, but being kept awake all night is unacceptable.

There were also issues with communication. We were initially told the dog deposit was refundable (we have this in writing), but later received an email stating it had been refunded as a “goodwill gesture.” This was not goodwill — it was an error on their part that had to be honoured. These are separate issues from the noise disturbance.

Alisha, the hotel manager, said she would “look after us” on our next stay and mentioned organising an extra free night. Unfortunately, we did not get this confirmed in writing, and the follow-up has not reflected what was discussed. That was disappointing, especially as we had originally left a positive review based on that conversation.

Other issues:
• Parking is extremely difficult and expensive. The church opposite costs around £80 for one night.
• You are not proactively updated with key codes and can easily lock yourself out the following day.
• Cleanliness was below standard — cobwebs, dust under the stairs, and dog toys left behind from previous guests.

Overall, very disappointing given how promising this place initially seemed. We expected much better, particularly as returning guests.

4.5/5 Stars

On arrival the two men were very welcoming and helpful with one young man carrying our bags up (we were on the top floor). We stayed in the room Big Ben and it was spacious with a modern quirky look to it. The hot tub was nice and hot on arrival which made all the difference because of the cold weather. The room was clean and warm on arrival. The fridge was filled with drinks (which really helped so we didn’t have to leave the room). The next morning leaving the hotel there was one blonde lady at reception she was unfriendly and abrupt. She didn’t say bye or smile but instead once we handed the keys over she looked at us awkwardly until we left..

I would recommend going with a few family members or friends because of the price and the space.

Hot tub 10/10
Cleanliness 10/10
Hospitality 7/10
Space 10/10
Views 10/10

All in all a really good experience and I would go back here again.

Overpriced and overrated.

Overpriced and overrated.

The double bed felt like two mattresses shoved together and was hard as a rock.
The pillows were hard and lumpy.
Apparently you have to pay a deposit to stay there, even after you have paid.
Strange smell on entry.
Just stay in a hotel

Highly Recommended. Stunning Place

Fantastic evening at The bells. Excellent service from start to finish. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a complementary drink, the place smelt amazing and was superbly luxurious from start to finish.
The staff we very accommodating, friendly and professional.
The apartment was faultless.
One thing I will say is.. if you are travelling from afar and you forget anything then don’t worry as these apartments have you covered, from emergency chargers to drinks & snacks (at cost of course) I’ve never stayed anywhere that’s such attention to detail, this place definitely pulls out all the stops of luxury that’s for sure.
Definitely the best place we’ve stayed in Leeds and will for sure be returning and recommending to everyone.
Thankyou for a lovely stay!
