Thaely is a vegan, sustainable sneaker company that makes footwear from recycled materials. Thaely is PETA certified vegan and uses about 10 plastic bags and 12 plastic bottles to make each pair of their sneakers. The word "Thaely" is derived from the Hindi word for plastic bags, as the name suggests, Thaely's sneakers are made primarily from plastic bags, this has been achieved by Thaely's very own invention "ThaelyTex" a unique leather replacement made entirely of waste plastic bags. Thaely prides itself with highly ethical production practices and is sustainable down to the packaging. The shoes are packed in a reusable tote bag instead of a dust bag, the shoebox is dyed with coffee grounds and is plantable with embedded basil seeds.

Nice Shoes
The shipping took longer than expected, but that's understandable since they ship from India. The shoes are nice. They feel sturdy. The outer top part is stiff and hits my ankle in a weird spot. I have to wear thick socks and leave the laces loose to prevent a blister. I may try putting in insoles to raise my foot in the shoe so my ankle can sit higher. I feel like the stiffness of the shoes will change the more I wear them. I have wider feet so many shoes my size are tight. I’m an 8.5 W, but I ordered a 9. They’re wide enough to accommodate my feet. A little long, but I prefer more space to being squished into a shoe. These felt fine other than being a little stiff on my ankles. I've worn them twice so far, so I haven't had time to break them in. I look forward to wearing them around. I’m amazed they can use recycled plastics and make a cool looking shoe. Good job. Keep going.

Good shoes!
It’s been over a two weeks and the shoes are good, comfy (after the initial break-in phase). Feels good to be investing in a sustainable lifestyle product. The only (nit picky) glitch I had was with the tracking the shipment. The WhatsApp bot couldn’t really find my order ID, but I stayed patient for it states 5 business days on the website. Surprisingly the package arrived by then, while I expected it to only get shipped by then.

Uncomfortable uppers
First of all, absolutely LOVE the sustainability mission of this company! Why I bought in the first place.
I ordered a little bigger than usual and I’m glad I did— they juuust fit and are a bit narrow for me (I have wide feet). I am currently on day 3 of breaking them in. The sole is comfortable, but the upper is really uncomfortable for me at the moment. The place where the canvas meets the hard plastic digs into my foot as I walk and really chafes the tops of my toes, even if I’m wearing thick socks. I’m really hoping that will change with more breaking in.

Be sure to know what size you are getting if outside US
Honestly can't say too much positive apart from the fact they arrived quite quickly and are as detailed on website. Unfortunately I thought I was ordering a uk size 10 and was sent a US size 10 (UK size 9) so are not any use to me. When I contacted to return them I was told I should have seen on the website that they were uk sizes and couldn't offer a refund as per their tcs and cs. Don't honestly think it's great customer service as they also could have seen they were shipping to the UK and dropped me am email to check.
Good quality, but not that fitting
👍 The shoes arrived very early and seem to be good quality. (Just the font on the top of the shoes quickly fell off.)
A tote bag is for free included, although it is only mid-quality.
👎 I know, that it's not their fault really, but I was quite disappointed to see the package delivered in a plastic bag. Underneath was the promised plantable package (👍).
The shoes are not that good fitting for me personally, even though it is the right size. It irritates my ankles and is slippy at the end. (I would like the material to be a bit more flexible at the ankles, so that it fits for more people.)
I'm gonna try to wear it the next days and see how it will go. Overall, I would say with the concept of the company in mind, I would still recommend the shoes, bc just bc it doesn't fit me 100%, doesn't mean it fits nobody.

Beautiful - Quite narrow fit
The shoes look amazing and the packaging was done quite well! I love that the boxes themselves are compostable or can be planted to bloom! (They don't grow new shoes.) The only plastic waste to speak of in the packaging is the tape to secure the outside, so well done minimizing that footprint!
Unfortunately for me, the shoes run quite narrow, so I cannot wear them. I'm going to try shoe stretchers, but they are so tight that I am not sure that will work. I would need a wide size in something like this, which just isn't an option (regular shoes in other brands tend to be okay). It is difficult to not have half sizes and going up a whole size is a substantial difference.
Thank you for making a product with an innovative, carbon negative approach! I look forward to your company growing and hopefully offering more options in sizing.

Not comfortable out of the box
The shoes are too rigid for me causing a lot blisters and pain. I prefer a more out of the box comfortable shoe.

Great idea, got some kinks to work out.
I love what you guys are doing. I am happy to support you as a customer, and I want you to be successful. That said, there were issues with the shoes when they arrived. The end of one of the shoe strings was actually sewed into the inset of the shoe. I had to physically rip it loose. Not great. Since I'm in the US, I had no idea where to start to return them or ask for help. I share this only so you can improve, because, again, I'm pulling for you.

My first order was 1 size too big
My first order was 1 size too big. I reached out to return the order in its original packaging with it 5days of receiving the order. However your support team let me know you don’t accept any feature even though that’s what is listed in the website. I loved the shoe but now I will not recommend it to anyone since the customer service was so bad. Disappointed that I have to go back to Addidas instead of shoes made in my own country. Please do better. Thanks

The shoes are terrible
The shoes are terrible, so poorly made, they look used already, logos were not lined up, i understand they are for recycled materials but that doesn’t excuse the poor quality control. I give them two stars because the box is a neat idea for planting flowers. Avoid these shoes at all costs. Go by some flower seeds instead. Sending them back doesn’t seem great really, I’ll just give them to homeless people.

Pretty but uncomfy
While the shoes are pretty and well-constructed, they’re incredibly stiff, which makes them less comfortable to wear long-term. They are also not very airy, which heats up my feet a lot, especially in this summer. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to break them in and they’ll be more comfortable, but I’m not sure how that will go. That being said, they are pretty shoes and if someone doesn’t run as warm as I do and doesn’t have as wide feet as I do, they might be more comfortable in the shoes!

Wrong size shoes. Sent an email twice with no reply. Very dossapointing. Have a look at my order and emails..
If we are paying more then 5000 grands…
If we are paying more then 5000 grands it should be like that. 1st the box quality is not upto the mark . 2nd courier services and packing is not to great. 3rd and the main product received has sainted marked everywhere . I would like my refund back I have also put an email on 3rd August about the same. I hope you will replay on my refund email. At the ankle the shoes hurt a lot.

shoes are ok in general
shoes are ok in general. Could not see in the pictures on website the sides are 100% plastic. That is actually a problem as hard plastic is not flexible and hurts on the interior top part.

Great concept, but shoes were uncomfortable for my feet
Online ordering was smooth. The online price was 80€ with shipping included, but I used a 20% discount code at checkout to reduce the cost to 64€. The delivery arrived from India to the EU 4 business days after ordering. The import tariff required after delivery was 23.10€. The design and build quality were decent for the price. The business concept of using recycled materials is wonderful.
Unfortunately, the shoes were painful for me to wear. While walking, the hard plastic used in the upper made contact with the top of my toes, and the hard plastic used on the sides made contact with my ankle. At first, I thought I could break them in over time to eventually be less painful, but I soon realized that this would not be the case for me. In the end, I had to donate the shoes (worn only for 1 day) to a person who could wear them without discomfort.
My recommendation would be to try walking in the shoes before buying them, to determine if they'll be comfortable on your feet for regular use.

Did not like the fit too much
Did not like the fit too much.
Cool concept and I understand that recycling is costly. If you care about sustainability this is your go to shoe.
I would rate it a 3 for the comfort. The shoe fits right but you can’t wear it for more than a few hours and your feet start to hurt.

Better than expected
i bought the white version and It looks even better than the pictures. I had it for a week, but it feels solid, durable and well build. No complains ... plus shipping was fast.
