Sameer was knowledgeable
Sameer was knowledgeable, effective, and easy to work with. There were a number of times where I asked him for help with a recruiter call with very short notice, and he never batted an eye, always coming through. Most importantly, he got results, as I was able to negotiate an uplevel and a significantly increased offer. This is my second time working with Rora, and cannot recommend them enough - they have deep expertise which can make a massive difference in salary negotiations.
Rora is amazing, especially Amir
I worked with Amir at Rora when I was making a big job change and evaluating other companies after an acquisition. He helped me so much to understand roles that could be a good fit for me, pay across those roles, and overall aspects of the general hiring process. I'm mid-career (10+ YOE) and I still learned so, so much from this. I wish I'd had this kind of advice much earlier in my career. Amir also helped me avoid an opening that was very tempting but a bad fit for me. He had amazing foresight and I'm very thankful that I had his advice on the whole process, not just the negotiations.
Amazing help
Rora was incredibly quick and efficient in responding to all of my requests. They were extremely thoughtful and kept in mind many details I had lost track of, which helped a lot with drafting up emails and arguments. They were also very kind and considerate about my own hesitations and reservations. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new role, especially directly after graduating.
Fantastic experience with the Rora team
Amir was incredibly helpful and understanding throughout the entire process. He was helping me find the best fit, not just the best compensation. I appreciate that he was very responsive, too! The entire Rora team was a pleasure to work with. I would gladly work with them again and recommend them to friends and family.
I would recommend Rora to all PhD grads looking to work in tech.
I would recommend Rora to all PhD grads looking to work in tech. My Rora advisor, Jordan, taught me how to more effectively job search, network, interview, and negotiate. She was responsive on WhatsApp, and I felt comfortable asking her any and all questions. Practicing mock recruiter calls with her really increased my confidence. Rora helped me negotiate a higher compensation package in the end than I could have on my own. The skills I learned from working with Rora will benefit me throughout the rest of my career.
Excellent coaching
I was a new grad, so I had no idea how to navigate the industry job market. However, the Rora coach I worked with was super helpful in this regard. I could really focus on doing well in interviews. I think this helped me secure an offer while there was rampant hiring freezes across firms in the industry.
Extremely Valuable Service for Job Applicants
It was wonderful being able to confide in and be coached by Nicole throughout a long and stressful interviewing process. I'm so glad that I listened to her advice and trusted in her experience. It was a pleasure to work with her, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to my friends or to use her in the future should the need arise.
I was a new PhD without any experience, yet Rora helped me increase my total compensation by $30k+ through two rounds of negotiation...without having to share compensation from any other offers! Rora is an absolute must for any job market candidate, and I cannot recommend their service highly enough.
Berkeley PhD learns how to negotiate
I got my Eng. PhD from Berkeley and was wondering if I could land a job with proper compensation. Rora came in and gave me the confidence to handle the situation, which is especially important for a foreign student.
I wasn’t sure about my commitment until I learnt their framework and what they could offer after. The framework preps me mentally. Then the data gives me a rational understanding. Lastly, the mock negotiation is the killer. Not only it helps on getting the proper compensation, but also it develops my negotiation skills, which I use routinely.
I supports its new products and hope they can help more people.
Support for negotiations of first industry job
Coming from academia, I didn't know a lot about negotiations when I applied for my first industry job and I friend recommended me to try Rora. When I contacted Rora, I was already done with the interviews and knew that the company was interested in hiring me and we soon would have to speak about money and benefits. Crystal from Rora did a great job in quickly teaching me about negotiations and was always available to discuss recent conversations with the recruiter and hiring manager to understand what the company could offer me and what I could ask for without being rude. If I didn't have her consultation, I would have definitely agreed to a lower offer.
Great return of investment
Like maybe some of you reading this review, I was initially unsure of this company given that I hadn't heard of them before. I was not sure if it's legit or not, and what their expertise was. However, I carefully read all of the available reviews on Trustpilot and decided it was worth it to have the free consultation and decide after I get a feeling for them.
The negotiator gave me an excellent first impression and described exactly the tactic they would use to help negotiate a higher offer. I had relatively bad leverage to begin with, but they assured me we can still use it to negotiate successfully. The negotiator also suggested a few alternative job titles (with higher pay) I could pursue given my background, but based on a brief further discussion, we decided it was best to focus on the position the offer was in.
Through the process I got extremely fast replies from the negotiator and they seemed to always know exactly what to do. They guided me through the various steps, prepping me very well for each conversation.
Given that their pricing is as % of the raise they can negotiate, your ROI is essentially always a fixed multiplier. The total 4-year increase they helped negotiate was more than $250k, so more than $60k per year, and pretty much at the top of the band.
However, personally I was focused on the *additional* value I believed they could provide beyond what I could probably do on my own. My own best case scenario for what I could do on my own was still $100k lower than what I ended up getting with Moonchaser's help, which is still way more than what I ended up paying Moonchaser (and I probably wouldn't have quite reached the best case scenario).
In summary, despite taking a very critical look at the value of their service, I can not find any downsides. Because of their pricing structure (% of the increase you get) it's clear it's in their best interests to help you as much as possible and not slack off. This also means it's a very low risk proposition for the applicant, since if they can't help you at all, you will end up paying only a small fixed fee.
I would honestly recommend this service to anyone. If you already have very strong leverage (multiple competing offers) then you probably can do well on your own, but for those with weak or moderate leverage, I would strongly encourage to at least do the free consultation.
I maintained laser focus on my interviews while my Rora team handled the rest
Being there to listen to my thoughts, hopes, frustrations. Always giving me all the options for me to understand and give final say. Drafting communications was a really really big one for me.
Also getting back you opinions and feelings about the situation at the time. To get your professional predictions was a great feeling to know that Rora is looking and discussing about my case as a team. Knowing that multiple people had eyes on my account was very reassuring.
Sameer was very helpful!
Sameer was very helpful and prompt. Helped increase my total comp by 250k over 4 years. I would have probably gotten less than half that by myself. So while their fees are steep, definitely worth it for me.
I have a badass career and comp because of Rora's team
I've worked with Brian at Rora a couple of times. The first, I was negotiating an offer with a FANG company looking to get the highest offer and not leave anything on the table. I was new to FANG and emigrated from Canada to the US. Brian lifted my original offer by $35k through negotiation mentorship, even though it was my first time ever negotiating an offer – and I didn't even have any counteroffers to leverage. I was under-equipped and STILL managed to get a significant higher total comp.
The second time, about 3 years later, I was looking to make a move and Brian helped me see through the fog and was the catalyst to my decision to pivot. There's many distractions and unlimited possibilities in tech, and Brian's deep experience empowered me to be certain I was making the right decision.
Trust Rora. You won't regret it.
Rora changed my life.
Rora is for real. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be writing this from the living room of the house I bought with my wife. Rora helped me get a 50% higher starting salary than I or other people in my field thought I would get for my first job in data science / software engineering. That is 50% above a reasonable expectation of friends who already worked in the industry, not a pessimistic estimate I established late at night when I was worried I wouldn't find a job:)
Danny was fabulous! He put me at ease whenever we spoke. He provided practical advice, scripts for me to customize, a broader perspective on the negotiation process, and I always had a fun time speaking with him. It was comforting to work with someone that has a depth of experience to draw upon. After I was hired, my skip manager told my manager, "this guy is a good negotiator!"
Rora helped me start a new career in a job that I love.
I talked to Brian at Rora and was…
I talked to Brian at Rora and was absolutely blown away at the level of insight that he brought into my negotiation process. For context, I'm a graduate student and have never held a corporate job. There were things that Brian exposed me to that no one in my network was even remotely aware of. I had already had conversations with friends and professors and none of them pointed out the important decisions I could make now that would set my career trajectory on different paths. I highly recommend Rora!. If you're on the fence, just do it. Reach out now.
Very attentive and productive negotiation service!
Had a great experience with Moonchaser. They're very knowledgeable and provide great customized negotiation assistance from start to finish.
Annie is a very professional negotiator
Annie is a very professional negotiator. She prepared detailed email and call scripts according to my specific situation. That's really helpful for an engineer like with much less negotiation experience.

I am a Graduate from Nigeria who is presently looking forward to migrate to Canada but don’t have any means of doing that.
Don’t know how possible it’s for me to get a job in Canada which will help me relocate to Canada.
So helpful!
I really enjoyed my experience with Annie and the Moonchaser team, especially for my first time receiving an offer with a large international tech company. Annie met me where I was while pushing me in the best way and provided invaluable insights on what was possible to maximize the opportunity. She also provided support around the clock as my hiring process was unique in its cycle with unforeseen challenges – but we got the job done. I recommend Moonchaser to all my friends now to make sure they (especially as women/people of color) make the most educated decision possible. Thanks y'all!
