I have spoken to kayakers over the last two years at various campsites about what they thought of their Karitek roof rack / loading system and, without exception, they all raved about it.

They said they had had theirs years and loading multiple sea kayaks/canoes onto vans and 4x4’s was quick and a one person job.

Having recently swapped cars from a low roof estate car to an SUV I was finding loading my own boats a bit more awkward so took the plunge and emailed Teal Engineering (who make and sell the Karitek system) asking what I needed.

I got a reply the same day, which is much better than a lot of larger companies, but explaining the different parts I needed to make up the system as they’re tailored to each vehicle.

I bought an easy load rack that allows me to load either 3 sea kayaks or, adjusting the mounts, 1 canoe and one sea kayak.

I was offered the choice of having it fitted by them or delivered on the day of my choice to fit myself. I chose the latter and was sent fitting instructions via email in advance.

I fitted the rack by myself and it’s as good as I was told by the many people I’d spoken to about it.

These racks have a huge following in the paddling community as they allow loading at the side of the car and the first boat acts as a counterweight to make loading the others easier.

They a large investment, but so are our boats, and both are made to last many years. If you buy a sea kayak and only paddle it once you’d have been better off hiring one.

Not only will this tack work out as a token ‘price per paddle trip’ over the next ten years but it will also save me injuring my back and shoulders struggling to load my boats without it. That means I can continue paddling long into retirement.

Had a Kari-Tek system fitted to my newly purchased van. Being a small female and wanting to load heavy kayaks the team took the time to get the system right! I’m very pleased with it and would highly recommend the fitting service!

Wish I bought one years ago. Its so much easier to get my sea kayak onto the roof of my tall vehicle. Excellent customer service, only took a couple of hours for them to fit and I was back on my way. I can tell this product will last me a lifetime. If you thinking of buying one, do it, you wont be disappointed.

Their product, the kari Tek roof rack systems are fantastic, there is nothing better out there for Kayaks and Canoes etc. The team at KariTek are as good as their product, super proffesional,friendly and very helpfull.

I bought a Karitek EasyLoad about 7 years ago to transport kayaks and canoes on my Renault Trafic camper van (with a pop-top roof). In that time I've never had a problem with it. Loading / unloading is easy, and it's relatively straightforward to remove the rack if needs be. A well designed and well engineered product.

The Kari-Tek hi lift roof rack is a well thought out well engineered piece of kit.
Since having it I've been easily able to single handedly get two tandem kayaks, weighing just under 60 kg combined, onto the roof of our 2.85m high motorhome. Given that I'm 5' 8", and 70 years old, you can reasonably infer that without this piece of kit, our kayaking opportunities would be much reduced. The days of getting up onto the roof with a telescopic ladder, then hauling kayaks on a rope with a heavy blanket laid over the roof edge, are now thankfully over.
The entire rack is readily removable; as I write this I'm in the motorhome in France, with the rack removed. I think that I've taken it off five or six times over the last year, then re-installed it shortly afterwards to use it for a kayak outing.
I've driven around in Scotland with it, in sustained 60 knot cross winds, and it was reassuringly stable, with no movement of the boats whatsoever.
If you have a motorhome, or a high top panel van, and are looking for the best secure and easy method to transport your kayak, canoe, SUP or windsurfing rig, then this is the best solution out there.
The chap who designed this piece of equipment is very helpful, and should there be anything that you require help with, he's very quick to respond, and answer any queries.
Bearing in mind that this rack is in effect a bespoke item of equipment, it's very reasonably priced, and if it allows you to continue kayaking or canoeing for another decade or more, then that's worth quite a lot in my view

I bought a Karitek roof rack to easily load my two kayaks onto my Ford custom transit camper.They were great to deal with at point of purchase .The cantilever design means you never have to lift the weight of two boats at a time. It loads easily and is a great bit of kit.
It has been somewhat time consuming to fit at times because we fitted rhino roof bars which the Karitek rack now sits on. I would advise anyone else buying these to go straight to karitek as it makes everything slicker, neater and easier.
Recently I lost one of the dagger pins and had to recontact the company. They were easy to deal with giving a very fast response and everything sorted within days.

Kari-Tek helped me fit my rack onto my new van without having to buy a new one. They carefully assessed the changes in the vans and supplied those parts needed. Excellent service.

We had an Easy Load rack on our VW Transporter and it was excellent - great bit of kit! We now have a Hi-Lift on our much taller Peugeot Boxer Campervan. The winch sometimes feels like a bit of a faff at the end of a hard day, but it's a good way to get 2 kayaks on the roof of our van.
