Built in Obsolescence ?

Great product at first but expect these smart devices to fail after a year or so. I don't know if they have built in obsolescence but once you get use to their functionality you have to keep buying and replacing them. Shame. I must have thrown away half a dozen now.

Got there in the end

I have had quite a few messages back and forth With the Tapo support team over the last few months(they have always been quick to respond) but as soon as I was escalating to “engineering” and had one email from Cliff the issue was identified and easy to put right.

Camera lasts only a year

Camera lasts only a year. TP Link doesn’t want to replace it. Chatted with Joshua but didn’t really get the help needed. Really bad experience. I have 15 Tapo-devices and the next ones are definitely not going to be Tapo.

Unless the weather is perfect the…

Unless the weather is perfect the detection rate is dreadful, one camera had to be replaced under warranty, not an easy task at all, now another camera is showing signs of condensation inside the unit, today having a slight fog outside the property means no detection at all, Waste of time as a security camera.

pretty fed up with my tapo system.
had it 4yrs now, its unreliable,
missis so much movement no latter how much you try to adjust sensitivity. a women was hit by a car that drove away today, we couldnt help with footage as my camera decided to stop working for 4 hrs… i have 14 of these things, randomly useless for the security of your family
