Very poor distance even line of sight

Well packaged and well made product. But absolutely useless.
You might as well use a tile for android devices. At least you get a map description of where your cat has been.
Tabcat doesn't do any of these things and is way overpriced.

Customer service in Switzerland abysmal

Bought TabCat (v1) due to recommendation by friends. It worked well for nearly two years. Then the handset wouldn't find the tab anymore in spite of new batteries in both gadgets.
Customer service by CATTUS SA, CH-2504-Biel, is more than rude. She's even insinuating I was making this up. I'm enraged and disappointed as they are not ready to heed their warranty of 2 years.

A fantastic little device!

I bought this after a horrible week of my cat being missing. It is small enough to fit neatly on his collar without bothering him and comes with a waterproof case. He does love to go wandering and in the last 3 months I have found him using this device on 6 occasions, each within 20 minutes of starting looking. Tonight he was hiding terrified in a bush by a busy road and I would never have found him without it. You do have to have patience and move around to look for your cat, but the 'hot and cold' tracker is very specific and has always located him to the spot. It starts to pick up from about 30m in the open. Not perfect in that it works less well through buildings and in built up areas, but a really simple and effective tracker which I think probably saved my cat's life today, thanks Tabcat!

No range past 120 feet (40 meters)

bought the new Tabcat 2 system for my two cats. Everything worked fine as long as the cats were within the boundaries of my garden (around 120' long) but as soon as they went further afield the tabcat couldn't pick up a signal for either of them, even when I went down to the bottom of the garden. Tried walking up and down the road, doing multiple 360deg circles, went to the top pf my house and hung out of the window....nothing! So absolutely useless to me. Would not recommend this product.

Rude Arrogant British Company.

Rude Arrogant British Company.

You will hate your life trying to get these to work. They fall apart, are incompatible with the old version, not waterproof and if you need help from the company - they farm out their customer service to another company and those reps are rude and have no clue how anything works and the only thing they know how to do when you ask for help is to say NO…. NO…. and NO. The only consistent thing is that you will spend a fortune buying replacement tags trying to get it to work. Your cat has a better chance of being found if you put an AirTag on him instead. It’s waterproof, $25, battery lasts a whole year and it works worldwide, or buy the RF system (from a very nice American company in CA) that has a one mile radius. I miss my cat - and I HATE this company. :(

Poor customer service

I have used Loc8tor trackers for our 6 cats for many years. Previously I used to think they were one of the best-ever pet products and recommended them many times to other people. Now the company seems to have major problems. The Tabcat products became unavailable for months and now - with limited availability again - they appear to have changed the design back to the older shape: lozenge-shaped tags, with tiny, very fiddly batteries which are a pain when needing replacement, instead of the circular tags which take CR2032 batteries. The replacement cases I ordered and paid for on Feb 7th and need urgently have still not arrived although Tabcat informs me they were sent on Feb 9th. Our local postal deliveries are always excellent so I cannot understand the delay. I am still waiting for a response to my email 3 days ago when Tabcat asked me to confirm my delivery address (which they would already have had from my order) so that they could “take a look into this”.

Worked great for just over a year, then things went from bad to worse.

Used every day and worked well a year. We found the range to be not very good so we added a Tractive tracker as well. That combination gave us long range to +/- 10m or so via GPS and then a pretty accurate final fix with the Tabcat. When the Tabcat stopped working things went from bad to worse. Customer services proved to be no such thing - no phone calls answered or messages returned, apart from one brief response which was of no help at all. No response to any email chasers, including an email about replacement under the two year warranty which after a month is still unanswered. In my opinion they should get their back up customer and warranty services up to the same standard as their ‘trusted company’ marketing claims. Until then I would say it’s best to avoid and go for a GPS tracker such as Tractive.

Tags & finder remote stopped working…

Tags & finder remote stopped working after less than 12 months. Website states 2 years manufacturers warranty. Returns form available on website but it states to email or phone first, prior to returning the product for replacement. I have had no response to several emails and the phone number diverts to a vodafone voicemail which is never picked up. Absolute waste of a lot of money.

Round tags unreliable, waste money

The old lozenge style homing tags worked so well. They broke a great product. New round tags work for a while, they break, their battery life is short, the stupid silicone case breaks and isn't for for purpose. That's why I've just bought a girufas today because after many many years, I've lost my last lozenge tag. The round ones are totally unreliable.

The worst decision I did

I ordered a tabcat from Brazil. I paid 70 pounds for the product plus 15 pounds for mailing.
It never got here. They wanted to charge extra 25 pounds to send it again saying it couldn't track the product and got lost.
I refused to paid extra. Then they said they returned the tabcat and they would refund me.
But they din't refund the hole thing, just 70 pounds.
It means I bought it, I didn't get the product and lost 18% of my money. This is worst than investing in any risky thing. I don't recommend, I lost my time, money and I hope nobody goes through what I did.

Awful product/worse customer service

The silicone cover, which is the piece that goes over the locator disc and attaches to the cat's collar, is paper thin and tears easily. I had my Tabcat for only six months when it was lost due to a torn/shredded collar. When I contacted the company to ask for a new locator and silicone cover they said "no." Then, "as a gesture of goodwill" they agreed to send me a new silicone cover. I replied saying that the cover is too easily torn and if the cover doesn't contain the locator securely then I shouldn't have to pay $35 for a new one. They apparently didn't like that I was holding them accountable since they didn't return my email and never send me the cover they promised. When I emailed again asking when I could expect my cover, they didn't respond. As a result, my cat was without her locator for a good six weeks while I was waiting for the cover they promised to send me. Terrible product, worse customer service.

Shocking customer service response

I purchased Tabcat in March. By the end of October one of the trackers would not work despite me changing battery etc. The handset would not recognise the tab. I contacted Tabcat on 31 October, I had the usual bounce back advising that they were looking into it for me. Then nothing. I emailed again on 18 November and received an email saying they had had problems with their email. Then no further response. I emailed again on 22 November. This is shocking customer service in my opinion. Such a shame as the principle of the Tabcat is great, and if you could rely on it it would be worth the £70+ however I would not recommend it to any of my cat owning friends as their after sales is atrocious. Tabcat ... I'm still waiting ...!!!

DO NOT BUY

My Tab does not work & they refuse to honor their warranty. They will not replace or refund the money. The USA phone number is a fraud, no one answers it. Do not buy this. Sharper Image has a similar product for less than half the cost & they stand behind their products.
