This is another outfit making money off ill knowledge senior Citizen. Have people switch to a Medicare advantage plan who will not authorize care seniors need. In my case taking advantage of my sister give poor advice from a poorly educated representative name Sam. Someone who is not in healthcare just make bonuses off switching seniors.

I was sold an Investment-Linked Policy (ILP) by Toby M Williams, a financial advisor representing Synergy Financial Advisors, as a long-term wealth building solution. After 7 years of monthly contributions, I invested a six-figure sum and got almost the same amount back — a roughly 3% annual return. That’s it.

To put that into perspective, the S&P 500 returned around 12-14% per year over the same period, the DAX around 8-10%, and even Singapore’s CPF — which is completely risk-free — returned 4%. So I took on full investment risk and ended up with returns worse than a government savings account.

What makes this worse is that Toby never once reached out during this time to flag the poor performance or suggest alternatives. No portfolio review, no proactive advice — nothing. I was essentially left to watch my money stagnate while paying substantial fees buried in the product: admin fees, investment fees, plan fees, and surrender penalties that lock you in.

This isn’t a review about how nice the advisor was. This is about results — and the results were terrible. The money I could have made by simply putting the same amount into a low-cost index fund would have been significantly more.

If you’re considering financial advice here, please do your own research on low-cost index funds before signing up for any ILP. The numbers speak for themselves.
