I would strongly recommend that you do not purchase any second hand VW from a dealership without them confirming to you, in writing, that it has not been written off prior to the sale to you!!
I have always had VW cars since my very first car with all of them being purchased from the Crewe dealership. However, my latest experience has ensured that I shall never purchase another VW.
I purchased a Tiguan (preloved) from the Crewe dealership. From the outset there were a few issues which I thought were minor - the gear stick knob came off whilst i was driving, and the fuel gauge was always showing as 3/4 full despite having a full tank of fuel. The gear stick was an easy fix, however it became apparent that the fuel gauge issue was not.
The car went in 3 times to have the matter looked in to, each time I was assured when I picked it up that the matter was fixed. It was not. It also then took a further 6-8 weeks each time for the car to be able to be returned to the dealership for the matter to be looked in to.
On the 3rd and final time, the car was in the garage for 5 weeks, with no apparent way of fixing the issue. Whilst the car was in being 'fixed', the customer service levels were shocking - I was not actively kept up to date, and instead I had to call the dealership to find out what was going on. Everytime I called, I was provided with the response of 'they are still looking into it'.
Eventually, I told VW that I no longer wanted the car as I had lost faith in them and the car - there was still no solution to the issue found. It was at this point that I contacted an entirely different dealership, for a different brand of car. Within 5 minutes of being on the phone, they advised that the car I had purchased had been written off prior to me purchasing the same.
This had not been disclosed to me at all during the purchase process - I would not have bought the car.
When I advised VW of this matter, they 1) denied that this was the case and 2) told me that if i wanted to return the car to them then I owed them.
The matter was eventually resolved, however I had to get the finance company involved. It took over 3 months for the matter to be resolved.

I’ll admit, I’m a fairly easy sell when it comes to cars. I know what I want and what I want to spend and Swansway Audi Blackburn have just made it super simple for the second time. Big thanks to David Pirie for all his help and his support team. They’ve dragged me away from a lifetime of loyalty at Mercedes and have looked after me ever since. Great cars, competitive prices, friendly sales team and no tricks.

I visited the Seat showroom today because they were advertising a car I was keen to buy ! Not local by any means but I had purchased a VW T Roc from the same companies VW franchise .
Anyway business must be booming because the salesman I saw frankly couldn’t be bothered with me ! The car wasn’t at the dealership ! The end of our conversation I left .
Picking up my wife’s new car this weekend from Kelvin at Barlow Morors who was brilliant !

Louis provided an excellent level of service at the VW Centre. He was highly professional and took the time to explain everything in detail, ensuring that all information was clear and easy to understand. He also offered helpful advice, which we truly appreciated.
It is evident that Louis is a specialist who takes pride in his work and is perfectly suited to his role. We are very satisfied with the service we received. Thank you for your professionalism and support (Oldham).

Right from the very start felt rushed .definitely not explain to properly.nothing the salesman csaid was true .myself and partner felt very be littled ....arrived to collect the car was made to wait an hour and a half ..ignored .was sold an unsafe car that should not have left the garage ...had concerns before I left but was totally not listened to ..on way home got a clunking noise when braking ..phoned to complain next day ..shrugged off ..not taken seriously..one key fob was dead ...when they collected the car on the following Monday one wheel nut was missing on n/s front wheel .and the other 4 studs were hand tight ..could quite easily of been killed if wheel would of come off which it was very close to ..after they checked the brakes it turns out the front pads were cracked which they changed and was made to feel gratefull by the manager ..apparently this car had a fresh mot and completely checked .its been the most stressfull week of myself and my partners life .no confidence in motor match ...and still getting things wrong ..I would personally never recommend or purchase from this garage.1 star is too much .they don't deserve that

Bought from VW Oldham polo gti day of collection salesman Jonathan told me 2 tyres will need changing said they will put midrange tyres on drove home 120 miles car felt noisy and jittery had tyres checked and found they put cheap Chinese mud and snow tyres on and they were very under inflated, called them and they did the normal main dealer thing and fobbed me off, i paid for a premium car brand so didnt expect them putting the cheapest nastiest tyres on absolutely disappointed and disgusted in them acting like a back street dodgy car trader and will now cost me to replace them. A warning to all future customers to be very careful when buying from them.

Excellent experience from start to finish with their accident repair centre in Crewe. From the initial phone call they were really helpful, professional and explained the process from start to finish.
They collected my car, delivered a courtesy car, dealt with the insurer directly (despite my insurer originally preferring me to use one of their providers), they repaired the car in half the time they originally quoted and delivered it back to me fully valeted, all without costing me penny other than my insurance excess. The main benefit is that they only use Jaguar approved parts, which keeps my Jaguar Warranty valid.
The repair job is amazing and far better than I was expecting, you'd never know the car had been in an accident and the paint match is unbelievable. I would highly recommend Swansway Accident Repair Centre in Crewe if you are ever unlucky enough to be in an accident.

I purchased a vehicle from Motor Match Stockport in good faith, expecting it to be of satisfactory quality and properly inspected prior to sale. Unfortunately, shortly after purchase, a number of faults became apparent that should reasonably have been identified during the dealer’s preparation and inspection process.
When I raised these issues, a manager had stepped in to deal with my complaint and I was directed to pursue repairs through an external warranty provider rather than the dealership addressing the matter directly. Expected to pay for diagnostic charges. A warranty is an optional product and does not replace a supplying dealer’s responsibilities and my statutory rights that I am expected to receive by law. I have since had to spend considerable time following up, requesting proper acknowledgement of the issues, and asking for documentation. I was later told that the fees would be covered in the form of a good will gesture on this occasion.
This has made what should have been a straightforward aftersales process far more stressful and time-consuming than necessary. I am still seeking a resolution based on the dealer’s obligations to perform the one time repair that is my statutory right. I would like this to an opportunity for Swansway to step in and deal with this complaint directly as I have already included Black Horse and Swansway in the email threads.
I hope the business reflects on this experience and improves how post-sale concerns are handled, as customers should not have to push this hard simply to have legitimate issues reviewed properly.

Very pleased with the polite and helpful service from the sales people Joe & Elliot. Nothing was too much. I have had numerous cars from Swansway Chester and have never had any problem with any aspect regarding my vehicles.

I had the pleasure of purchasing a Seal U from BYD Crewe. We were looked after very well by Henry who was polite and friendly, but also professional and knowledgeable, and after the sale was complete he went out of his way to ensure we were happy and comfortable in our new car, which was appreciated. I felt the inevitable negotiations on trade-ins etc. were honest and fair, and I left feeling like I'd had a good deal.
Thanks to all at BYD Crewe for a smooth and pleasant experience.

I was happy with the service at Motor Match Chester because they are super friendly team. Very knowledgeable about their stock and can those niggling questions you have dispelling myths along the way too (e.g. second hand electric cars). No pushy sales tactics, just genuine enthusiasm for their craft and allow the customer time to reflect. Really really appreciate their help in buying my car.

Billy was great, I was a bit frustrated that a wall box was offered but then retracted, it's caveated to the max on the website so had no proof. I think we got a good deal overall but do feel a sense of loss with this
