Swan has been good to me. In fact, their CEO is responsible for me getting off BlockFi before they closed down and would have lost tens of thousands. The revolving door of custodians, Prime to Fortress to Bakkt, does have me concerned but I have always taken my BTC into self custody fairly quickly once I reach a predetermined amount so I minimize my exposure to third parties as we all should be. Swan preaches self custody first and foremost and after shakeups in the industry during the last cycle, they'll get no argument for me. The fees are low, communication is generally good and their education is top notch. I recommend them to anyone looking to dip their toe into BTC but as always, "not your keys, not your coins". I'm looking at you Fortress for charging customers in BTC for things out of our control.

A few weeks ago I remembered I had some bitcoin in this site after almost a year of inactivity in all things crypto. I log in and find that my account has been frozen and a notification saying I have to contact support. "Your account has been closed ... blah blah... risk assestment (sure) ... Balance will be available to withdraw after 60 days.", welp at least I'm not getting scammed. Two weeks later, Fortress Trust pulls an exit scam on them and charge a shit ton to each customer's account - I had around 45$ worth in my wallet and my balance was negative (yikes). I contact support, I'm no longer a customer right? Give me my money then. Their email: "Your account has been closed ... blah blah... risk assestment (sure) ... PERIOD" Same email no mention of my belongings YIKEEEES

Best place to buy BTC. Ive only been a customer for 2 months. Usually i buy BTC on exchanges and move to hardware wallet, but fees to buy and fees to send get ridiculous. The spread on Swan is on point. Thank you. The $0 fees for buying and sending is awesome. I won't buy BTC anywhere else again.

I was a big fan of Swan and often recommended it to friends and coworkers. Not anymore. They won't let me withdraw my Bitcoin and communication was disappointing. First, a message appeared in my account saying that withdrawals are blocked and I have to contact them to find out why. After I filled out a contact form linked, I had to wait for a week. Then I got a message that my account was closed and I'll get my funds in 60 days! They explained there was no wrongdoing on my part but they considered me to be posing risk. Super shady... So sad, but I guess I'll have to take my business somewhere else.

Not sure what is going on with this company. I received $25 worth of bitcoin a long time and it's In an archive account. It’s now worth $21 dollars. What happened? All I know is bitcoin went up but not my account

Swan was good until fortress trust withdrew a fee in the form of bitcoin without informing customers. Just research swan coin fortress trust fee. Super sketchy. Swan changed service providers to Fortess Trust and withdrew an administration fee without informing customers.

I’ve been a Swan customer for a little over a year, and they are by far the best place to buy bitcoin. Almost every single exchange these days lacks direct and personal support, but we’re Swan shines is the availability of support staff through Telegram, email, or private concierge service for private account members.

They are light years beyond other exchanges.

My bitcoin has went missing and there customer support service is terrible basically took my money and it saying a fortress onboarding fee and I still haven’t hear back on why and how I have as much bitcoin anymore.

The app works fast and efficiently. Customer service is responsive.

Update, Their customer service contacted me and addressed the issue. I would have liked a quicker response but they did resolve it so I updated this review to 4 stars.
I tried Swan after listening to a Lynn Alden podcast. I have been happy with Swan up until I try to withdraw my Bitcoin. I made multiple small purchases over the last several months and was finally getting around to taking self custody however I receive the message "withdrawals are currently disabled on your account". Not sure why and I am struggling to get a response from the help ticket. I hope the customer service improves.

I trust Swan for buying my bitcoin. Price margin is fair and better than others. App tool is user friendly. Free transfers into my cold wallet is a great perk! Love the YouTube education and information! Quick email replies to questions. Keep up the good work Swan!

Terrible company that offers no competitive advantage to other Bitcoin exchanges. There are much better options such as Strike, River, Gemini, etc, which offer lower fees, weekend withdrawals and much better support. Here are all the reasons to avoid Swan Bitcoin.

1) Their 0% fee promotion first $10k is not actually a promotion. They add ~0.5% spread to their pricing. They claim that’s normal bid/ask difference, which a lie. Gemini and Binance spread difference is under 0.1% bid/ask.
2) I submitted a withdrawal for $5000 in bitcoin on Friday. I did not receive my bitcoin until Monday evening. Unacceptable timeframe.
3) They have no weekend support for any concerns. Get hacked or a fraudulent deposit/purchase occur? You’re totally screwed on weekends.
4) They ban accounts and hold your money for 60 days with no notice. My account was deemed “high risk” after I made 2 small wires and bitcoin withdrawals. Luckily, I had removed all funds. The ban states you cannot withdrawal any funds for 60 days. An interest free loan. Wild.
5) All in fees are 1.5% (1% fee + 0.5% hidden spread fee) while Strike, River are 1% and Gemini is 0.25%.
6) They recently fired a lot of their staff due to underperformance of the company. Your funds are not 100% safe due to financial solvency concerns. Funny how they ban people when their company is likely a higher risk of scamming people (ie bankruptcy) than you are.

Swan is the best way I have found to buy Bitcoin and move it easily, after the lock period, to cold storage. I am sharing my experience with others.

Swan's account signup and the user experience is clean and easy. The spreads are better than the competition, and the experience is all around great! I have used other providers that also focus on junkcoins; I like Swan's focus on bitcoin. There is no second best!
