Worst airport ever. Dirty untrustworthy thieves
Worst airport ever. I have been subjected to arbitrary unlawful custody and sleep deprivation for 48 hours by Guardforce personnel at the transit area of Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi airport without a reason and they used my regularily purchased flight for the expulsion. Noone at immigration ever stated I was denied entrance in Thailand. The decision has been taken in secret by immigration personnel for unknown resons which they firmly and repetedly refused to discolse even to the Italian embassy. My conduct has been correct at all times but I cannot say the same for airport officials and personnel.
Moreover the airport is visibly dirty since they replaced cleaners with automatic machines which can do only 80% of the work. All the rest is trash and a risk for your health. With the label of "prohibited person" from entering the kingdom the held me hostage and under "control" for 2 nights and 2 days declining firmly any reasonable request I made like accessing a phone, accessing lounge or transit hotel just to be able to rest. My passport was kept by airport personnel all the time and in this state I have been deprived of any right not just as a citizen but even of the basic human rights.
The cherry on the cake is what happened with the vouchers for food my own airline provided. I had right to 5 vouchers for the value of 400 baht each and in that period of time I could use only two - but here comes the absurd: Entrusting personnel to handle some cash (by the way no ATM is accessible and I was lucky to have cash in the first place) in order to make a purchace for a small difference in price I couldn't handle myself (so they stated) they returned telling me that the voucher from airline was not valid and I had to pay the total amount. What actually happed is that this person bought the same item 2 times, the first time with the voucher and the second time with cash returning with one item only and asked not just for 9 baht difference in price but for the entire bill of 418 baht, considering that the burger's value was 409 baht. All this leads me to reasonably assume it is common procedure to steal the passenger's vouchers in order for personnel to feed themselves.
Think twice before coming to this destination. You are warned.
