They aren't scammers - but they could communicate better.
I needed some very specific high-value items which were shown as available on the website. I placed the order on a Monday, and received an email acknowledgement immediately. I then heard nothing more. After a week, I rang to find what was happening. The phone was answered quickly, and I was told the order had been delivered. It hadn't arrived with me, so I was transferred to customer care or some such. Again, I had a rapid and competent response. We worked out that the parcel had been delivered to the wrong location the previous Thursday. They agreed to find it and get it to me. Today (day 8 after order) it did arrive, and despite rattling around in an unpadded box everything works. The company clearly has extensive information, but just needs to share it with the customer. Look at the way Amazon do it with a constant set of updates. And put some simple padding in - even loosely crumpled paper. Pay for it by not putting free chocolate in.
