Data processing without consent

I got contacted by their recruiter via email based on my LinkedIn profile. Email did not contain any details besides the clients industry and ballpark salary

Concerning thing was that it was not the official email but a default alias. At first I even thought it might be impersonation attempt. After reaching out to the recruiter in question he admitted he sent the "offer" and got my data from Instantly(a platform I never used) where it was uploaded by some Joseph.
At first I thought OK, somebody posted my data without consent, but the recruiter might have acted in good faith. When I pointed out the GDPR infraction at the source however instead of acknowledging it, the recruiter just claimed using my email is not against GDPR, it's just recruitment and blocked me
