Hendrik is the best guide we have ever had. We are an old couple from Germany and travelled a lot. Don’t hesitate to book tours with him. He is a warm, helpful person and does everything to make us comfortable. His knowledge about his country and especially the Toraja culture makes him the best choice to visit Sulawesi. We are very impressed of Toraja life, the people and the beautiful nature.

We stayed at Hendrik‘s Guesthouse and booked spontaneously a 2-Day Tour with him. He was already booked for a tour but helped us to get a guide. Further he organized for us a transfer to Ampana. All worked very well and we had a perfect time with Jusuf, our Guide. We would definitely book again with Hendrik.
My wife and I are from California. We spent 5 days in Toraja. Henrik was our guide and we stayed at his guest house. In a sentence - 5 stars to not do justice for Henrik. He is a GREAT guide for Toraja and a great person. He is from Toraja and knows the culture inside out. He is well connected to people in the area so knows exactly where and when the ceremonies are - which is the most important thing. After all, the main reason we visited Toraja was for the ceremonies (the funerals, weddings, etc). He took us to ceremonies day after day. Each day was a full day from 9 am - 5pm. He is detail oriented and everything was organized to the smallest detail.
Besides being a great guide for Toraja, he is a great person. He has a very pleasant demeanor and is a pleasure to spend 5 days with.
I strongly recommend Henrik for your trip to Toraja. I can say that he has travelled all around Sulawesi as well, though we did not go elsewhere with him. But he did give us great recommendations about other places to visit, which we ended up going to - such as Ramang Ramang outside of Makassar.
