I was hesitant at first to try career coaching as I was not sure what to expect and whether it was worth the investment. A year later I finally gave it a try and I'm so glad I did. My career coach, Shannon, is such a great listener. She has offered great guidance in helping me identify my values, and career deal breakers which are things that I never considered. I highly recommend for anyone unhappy with their current career situation or just anyone who needs guidance in finding the type of career that energizes them.

I love the structure! My coach is helping me figure out what I want to do when I grow up (I'm 40) and she is helping me figure out what is most important to me as I navigate a career change. She provides awesome feedback and helps me figure out new and exciting things outside the box I've put myself in. We create goals and I get homework with the accountability of a coach. I'm really enjoying this process.

They help you look at what is best for you and work on brainstorming resources toward that goal, whether you want to stay within your company, find a new setting, or go into business for your own. I had so much support in learning on how to communicate my needs to my boss, figure out what my strengths are, gaining support on how to get the most out of conferences. They also have many worksheets prepared to give you time to think about your own skills, imposter syndrome, and many others!

I have worked with several coaches in my search for job placement, career development, and strategy. By far, Dr. Amanda's coaching has been the most effective for the following reasons:

1) She conducts weekly one-on-one coaching sessions. These are active updates on my goals, what I have accomplished, any bottlenecks, and how I can do things differently.
2) She summarizes each meeting and follows up with notes, homework assignments, and goal board updates. Each follow-up note is encouraging and helps me move forward with my weekly wins.
3) She checks in with me mid-week to be sure I'm staying accountable.
4) She truly cares and is very kind.
