Boring , dull and overpriced.

Boring, overpriced and overrated. Really basic, simple script with annoying characters who keep shouting over each other. Slow and dull plot line which fails to engage.

Also the seats are incredibly uncomfortable for such as expensive ticket price.

Don't waste your time and money on this much hyped failure. I wished I hadn't.

Superb staging and visual effects

Superb staging and visual effects, engaging story told using original and innovative devices, excellent cast performances - couldn't fault any of them, totally brilliant - and the stage direction and choreography was awesome! For fans of the show there were lots of inside nods to the series, and it was great to learn the high-school backstory of some of the main adult characters like Joyce, Hopper and Bob.
The Phoenix is a beautiful theatre, I loved the size and scale of it, it felt intimate with the performance and our view was excellent. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. The facilities were great - managed to avoid a queue for the ladies loo! (Matinee weekday performance). Also loved the immersive touches like the hand drier ‘out of order sign’ was in Stranger Things branding and said that the 'Hawkins electrical engineer' had been informed!

Underwhelming

We were really excited for this one, unfortunately we found it quite underwhelming.. off sync staff & special effects, messy storyline. Rushed and why was everyone screaming and talking over each other for the whole of their performance? I wouldn't recommend, waste of money

It was so boring

It was so boring. There is a lot of filler, feels like you are waiting a long time for the spectacle scenes which are impressive but the acting in between was bad. We stayed after the interval hoping for a better second half but regretted that choice. The acting was so bad we thought we had an under study cast but that wasn’t the case.

Perfection

The story is exceptional but the special effects are absolutely like nothing I’ve ever seen before on stage. Incredible!

I hadn't seen the tv series but went with someone who had.

I hadn't seen the tv series but my daughter had, so helped me with the characters and background plot for the first 30 minutes.
The scene changes, artist skills and special effects amazed me, making up for my lack of knowledge and production length (a bit long).
All in all, a great night that I throughly recommend.

The play was brilliant however seats were restricted view and not informed.

The play was brilliant however our seats were disappointing. We paid extra for seemingly better seats than the upper circle however we found ourselves under the low roof which restricted our view for key parts of the play. The tickets did not indicate restricted views at all. We felt conned for what we paid and meant that we couldn’t immerse ourselves into the show.

The show is absolutely amazing

The show is absolutely amazing! So well cast and acted. A must see for a Stranger Things super fan mum and son. The only issue is the seats are absolutely the worse theatre seats ever! I’m only 5ft 4 and the leg room is so tiny! The most uncomfortable experience. I suffer from disabilities and can’t stand for long but during half time I was so uncomfortable I had to stand and stretch my legs.

INCREDIBLE!

INCREDIBLE!

I was eagerly awaiting this moment, being a huge fan of the Stranger Things universe, but I didn't expect to be so blown away!

The staging, the acting, the costumes, and the special effects brilliantly bring this incredible story to life.

So much talent on stage, transporting you to another world for almost three hours. I was speechless for the rest of the evening.

My only regret is that the audience didn't rise to applaud this incredible work and properly congratulate these amazing artists. The thank yous were brief, and it frustrated me; I felt like I wasn't giving them back even a quarter of what they gave us. So thank you! Thank you to all these wonderful artists for giving us such exceptional moments. If I could, I would see the play again in a heartbeat.

Thank you again, and bravo a thousand times!

Great show, disappointing that ushers don't stop phone use.

The production is phenomenal and isn't the first time we've seen it. What is disappointing though is the amount of people using their phones during the performance. A gentleman next to me was constantly trying to take photos, the man next to him was just on his phone scrolling, two over from him, the guy was WATCHING THE FOOTBALL. Another woman in front, and one to the right of us were on their phone.
WHAT DO YOUR USHERS GET PAID TO DO?!
STOP PEOPLE USING THEIR PHONES, we paid A FORTUNE for our seats and our views were constantly disturbed by people ALL AROUND US on their phones.
It's so disappointing that you allow this to happen.

We decided to go see Stranger Things in…

We decided to go see Stranger Things in London as we are big fans of the Netflix show. We first went for our wedding anniversary. On the arrival to the show in the evening, with no prior notice we was turned away at the doors with no explanation to why the show had been cancelled. We was absolutely gutted. We’d spent so much money to get to London and stay over. It ruined our anniversary. We then decided to re book our tickets as we was told this hardly happened and the show would go ahead again. We then went for my birthday a few months later. We booked the day time show instead as we wasn’t staying over night due to costs. On the way to London we received a text to say the show was cancelled again and wasn’t going ahead with no explanation. Another trip gone to waste. Absolutely appalling. We won’t be booking for a third time and we have now asked for a full refund. Very disappointed ☹️

Cancelled last minute

We travelled all the way from Manchester, paid for parking, tickets for the tube (none cheap, obvs), only to be sent a vague SMS saying the show "cannot go ahead as planned" which in plain English means cancelled. The email with more vague details came in 25 mins later. Imagine the dissapointment and the frustration, if only they told us only a few hours earlier or the evening before. Can I get all my money back? No, not really, only if you reschedule, refunds are a worse deal. What about apologising and at least trying to look like you care about your customers and not just their pockets? I've had cancellations before, but never this lack of respect.
And to add insult to injury, the morning after the nightmare, I get an email saying "hope you enjoyed the show, give us a review" - here's the review, hope you enjoyed it!

BE CAREFUL BUYING EXPENSIVE SEATS WHEN RESTRICTED VIEW

The staging and effects are superb. The acting, story and dialogue is pretty basic though, no where near as good as the TV show. And my goodness do they drag it out, I really struggled to make it to the interval (90 mins). The second half is better and the guy that plays Henry is excellent. I went with too high expectations maybe, but I was bored for long periods. A word of warning, we splashed out on the highest priced seats. On Saturday these are £190 each. Centre of Row F. But Row F has no incline at all from Row E, so even a 6'3 guy like me had a very restricted view with big heads in front of me. My wife who is a lot smaller couldn't see much at all. I appreciate some of the older theatres have problems like this but don't waste your money on expensive seats, as you'll likely be disappointed. You also don't really need to be in the stalls for the immersion, given how small the theatre is. Overall for the £300 we spent for two, it was pretty disappointing, even with the fantastic staging.

A wonderful experience for true fans as…

A wonderful experience for true fans as it is full of nostalgia but also a great story line and experience for those who haven’t seen the TV Show.
Special effects were great. It was dark but full of comedy and fun. The right amount of scary and excitement.
