Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 307 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, frequently describing it as terrible, non-existent, and unhelpful. People often found it difficult to reach a live representative, experienced rude interactions, and felt that agents lacked knowledge or were unwilling to assist with issues. Reviewers also reported numerous problems with payment and service, including unexpected disconnections, issues with auto-payments not working, and incorrect billing. Many felt that their payments were not recorded properly, leading to service interruptions, and some even mentioned being charged for services they no longer needed or for plans that were changed without their permission. However, some customers also noted that the service itself worked fine and provided good reception in various locations. A few other people also felt that the service plans were affordable and, in some cases, found specific customer service agents to be very helpful, patient, and effective in resolving their issues.

They are terrible

They are terrible if I purchase a calling card on the 1st of the month. Then I should have to the 1st of the next month before my plan is due. But oh no, these people Say you only get 30 days.So in essence you double paying in one month? And if the month is short , you still have to pay early , so they are still days from you and that's just not good business practices didn't have to you pay them and if you should lower your plan, then I want to send you a itemization talking about you old Moore, then you pay is this crazy or not, I've already paid state taxes and all that when I purchased the card from Walmart to re-up my service. They need to be looked into

Double billing....

They have been double charging me for 5 months. I finally changed my debit card number to stop it, the bank suggested after sr8talk REFUSED to acknowledge the double billing. So this month they billed me only once but canceled my service. THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT IS A TOTAL SCAM.

What people say is true about the…

What people say is true about the customer service representatives at Straightalk. Their communication skills are terrible and THEY DO NOT WANT TO HELP YOU. You can tell fairly quickly when on the phone with a customer service rep if they want to help you or not. They will talk in circles and waste your time, try to sell you more services, refuse to give a badge number, basically do anything but help you in any way. I would highly suggest never putting yourself in that position and just going with another provider.

Worst Customer Support based out of India obviously. These agents have a extremely difficult time grasping the English language, much less solving wireless phone issues

Have to rest my phone to much to get my service to work right. 50 dollars a month for service should be a really strong connection like 5 bars no matter were u are tho I only get 3 to 1 bar then drops to 4g on my 5g phone. Watch videos on YouTube can only watch in 720 or 144 sux.love to watch in 1080 tho wishful dreaming on my part. Guess calls and text are OK guess it be hard to mess that up.sure I could get better service for cheaper somewhere else.

Phone was set up for auto pay

Phone was set up for auto pay, they cut my service while I was on the phone about personal business. Cut me off 6 days early. Customer service is a total joke. Their website is also a total joke. Press English 200 times and half the website still pops up in spanish. I canceled auto pay and will not be buying any more plans from them. The one time I did get to speak with someone, they couldn't understand me and I couldn't understand them, seems stupid for a communications company to not see the importance of people being able to actually communicate.

Truly the worst customer service…

Truly the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Buckly up y'all. Not only was I lied to multiple times over the course of 1 week (so far) of being without cell service, I was directed to a link by a Straight Talk representative over the phone who told me I had to pay an extra fee to have my IMEI # unlocked. I ended up being charged close to $90 by what a different representative told me was a scam. At least 4 different representatives told me "my device was ineligible to be unlocked," but when I finally **successfully** made contact with the unlocking department (every other call dropped 1~ minute into the call, and after being on hold for 30+ minutes each time), the Head Representative of the Unlocking Department told me, "I don't know why anyone told you your device couldn't be unlocked, I'll unlock it for free right now." This same representative also assured me that after performing a factory reset on my cell phone, all I would have to do is insert a physical simcard from my new carrier and I would have no other problems with my service. Well. If I had a nickel for each time I'd been lied to by Straight Talk by this point, I'd probably have about 7 nickels. Because I went to my new provier this morning, where I received a brand new Simcard, and my phone is still rejecting it and I am still without a means of communication. When I say Straight Talk has the WORST customer service I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with, I mean it. I am still without phone service. If I have to get a new phone number (I've had the same number since 7th grade), the Straight Talk CEO will begin to cough in 5 days.

Okay so my mother paid my phone bill…

Okay so my mother paid my phone bill for one month over the phone and she didn't give them the right phone number she had given them a phone number that I hadn't used in a few months but she didn't know that and they asked if she would like to have the money taken out every month to pay the bill and she clearly said no and and so she called them and asked them to stop charging her credit card and they told her that I would have to be the one that talked to them they charged her anyways so I called them and I was on the phone for over an hour answering stupid questions and the guy I was talking to asked if he could call me back in 15 minutes because he was having problems with the computer system and he never called me back and the very next day my mom got charged for another month of phone service.... And so I called them again and this time I was on the phone for 45 minutes and told them they needed to refund the two times she was charged and they wouldn't do it even though that phone has not been in service for months this is the most horrible customer service I've ever had

Refuse to honor their own service plans but keep the money

Purchased a 60 day plan. Used the 60 day plan. Renewed the 60 day plan. Received an email stating I paid for 30 days. Contacted customer service who confirmed I paid for and was receiving 60 days of coverage. At 30 days received an email stating my service was expired and had no coverage. Contacted customer service again only to be told the plan "doesn't exist" and that my receipt and chat screenshots proving I was told I had coverage were irrelevant and the plan doesn't exist.

Automation makes it impossible to communicate with a person to have an error corrected do refund

I refilled my service 3 days ago with a platinum plan which is for 30 days now straight talk keeps telling me the service ends today it does not I have been on the phone for hours trying to reach an actual person who can fix this error I've got nothing but aggravation and I'm to the point I'm dropping their service and changing providers after over 10 years, after more than a year of buying three or four plans every month. I just want the error corrected , 30 days as purchased . If they can't fix the error then I want my money back I'm not paying for a 30-day plan to get 3 days of service though I'm betting that's a futile attempt

Run, don’t walk, FAR AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES

My fiancé just bought a new phone at Walmart; paid in full. He’d had it for about a month before we decided to add him to my Spectrum plan. Straighttalk wouldn’t unlock his phone to let him switch providers because of some new INSANE policy that says it has to be X number of days of having a device or it has to be paid in full (which it was) before they will unlock.

Imagine buying a phone from a totally different business, registering it with straight talk (who he’d been with for like 7 years) and having them literally hold his device hostage. Customer service wasted 2+ hours of his life, would not let him speak to a manager, hung up on him the first time and never called back the second.
He had to get a new device to join my plan.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! 0/10 RUN FAR AWAY AND FIND ANY OTHER COMPANY

Horrid customer service took so long I almost broke down in tears…

Straight Talk is a very bad Wi-Fi plan I saw they had a promotion going on where if I buy their silver plan I can get a free phone the phone is very good the phone is not the issue the issue is bad service even if I have Wi-Fi on or mobile data on at the same time it said my phone is not registered on a network my SIM card is new along with the phone every time I try to call my mom or anyone on my contacts says my phone is not registered so of course I tried to contact customer support it was the worst experience I had for example just today after I bought my plan and restarted my phone an hour later I started having issues so I contacted customer support and I was getting chat bought after chatbot it took so long just to talk to a real human and when I finally did she made me repeat what I was saying four times and then proceeded to completely ghost me and not say anything after so I searched it up on Google and the AI overview I was able to get to in under 2 seconds was more helpful than the whole hour I spent on a wild goose chase was able to figure out that I just wasn't able to so I turned on Wi-Fi calling which I can only call on Wi-Fi now and called it a day

I have had straight talk since 2014

I have had straight talk since 2014, I have never had any issues besides getting a new sim card for new unlocked phone in 2017, and Customer Service was able to get that worked out for me, even sent me a new sim card for free. I get great service and connection. I have never been without service ever.
