Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 307 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, frequently describing it as terrible, non-existent, and unhelpful. People often found it difficult to reach a live representative, experienced rude interactions, and felt that agents lacked knowledge or were unwilling to assist with issues. Reviewers also reported numerous problems with payment and service, including unexpected disconnections, issues with auto-payments not working, and incorrect billing. Many felt that their payments were not recorded properly, leading to service interruptions, and some even mentioned being charged for services they no longer needed or for plans that were changed without their permission. However, some customers also noted that the service itself worked fine and provided good reception in various locations. A few other people also felt that the service plans were affordable and, in some cases, found specific customer service agents to be very helpful, patient, and effective in resolving their issues.

Second time they didn't honor loyalty…

Second time they didn't honor loyalty rewards. I bought my wife a new iPhone 16 replacement and used my $100 anniversary device credit and low and behold it didn't reflect in my order. Plus they wouldn't allow me to purchase the new phone without buying a plan which we already have a 2 line account. I called customer service and on the first call to finish activating the new iPhone I asked about the anniversary credit and was asked to hold and was disconnected. I called a second time went through 25 minutes of waiting for another associate, which asked me to hold again, while I was on hold my service was completely disconnected from the phone I was talking to them on. I called a third time from my wife's phone, same thing happened as I was being told I had no anniversary credit and suddenly my wife's phone service was completely shut down too. That's three calls in a duration of almost 3 hours that I got nowhere. This puts a bad taste in my mouth for companies that can't honor a loyalty reward when they advertise it. I'm thinking about going to another carrier just because of this poor customer service. I'm screwed out of $100 anniversary credit and $15 for a service plan that wasn't needed. Not a very happy camper here.

Illegal service plan changes

They changed my service plan without my permission on Dec. 22 2025 I found out Dec 23 2025 through a text message saying my plan was refilled using reward points about a hour after I used my card to refill my plan which was charged my actual plan price then the person upgraded my plan using my points. I called hopefully getting it fixed. But just wanted people to know that they have done this and probably to others This is illegal and maybe we need to get a class action lawsuit against this. I am also reporting to the B.B.B. so others will know.

They're THIEVES

They're THIEVES! Took my points and put towards a new phone when I requested a bill credit. They wouldn't reverse it so I'm going elsewhere. Have been a customer over 10 years. So Much for gratitude.

Verizon Owned Scammers

Scammers, owned by Verizon. They give good deal; then drop the bomb...you lose data access (can't use Google Maps, etc). Then you get some rude guy from Bangledesh who wants more money.

Online phone orders is a scam

I purchased a phone online from straight talk. The value of the phone was $700 an IPhone 17. After a weeks wait; I tracked my order and ordered has not been shipped. Called customer service and was told the phone was out of stock and I can not reorder a different phone. They suggested I call my bank to get a refund???? Because they do not give refunds... Someone please tell me the necessary steps I need to take..

Had to buy a new phone because old one…

Had to buy a new phone because old one got shattered, didn’t remember pin or old email it was on, so had to get new phone number for new phone, set up auto pay on new phone wich I also had on old phone, took payment out and two weeks later took another payment out for old phone, called them and they said it doesn’t automatically cancel and they couldn’t reimburse me, wouldn’t you think if the number is no longer on my account and they gave me the new number they would automatically cancel it, been with them for twenty years but thinking about switching, poor customer service!

If I could give them less I would!

If I could give them less I would! Not only are they telling me I’m SOL! They offer the worst plan they can for me! I get on their website and it says they have 100GB of hotspot data add on for 1000 points, at the price of 10$. I use it and it doesn’t work, so I call them and they tell me that it’s no longer active on the website and they can’t do anything but give me 2 GB after having me use another 1000 points to verify that it doesn’t work! Absolute insanity and disrespect coming out of that office!

Straight Talk SCAM alert!

I have never been as upset with a service as I have with Straight Talk. Please, if you know what is good for you, do NOT use this service. The customer service representatives are clearly trained to talk in circles to confuse you. They do not give refunds whatsoever and their policies are confusing. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered and I work in the hospitality and customer service industry. Please STAY AWAY, they are scamming many.

Be careful of your saved up reward…

Be careful of your saved up reward points. They let you redeem your points online for credit without clearly noting its only toward a new phone purchase. They also will not reinstate your points when you realize it can not be a credit towards a refill. They have two different ways to redeem your points on their site so be careful. It's obviously done on purpose this way so you lose your points.

DO NOT get this service

If I could give negative stars, I would, I've had this service for 3 years, worked great the first. Now for 2 years ive been trying to change my password, I've done everything from bot chat, email links, calls and even through text. NOT ONCE have I ever had a live representative, have I ever had a reset link work, or even had actual help with my account and password resetting. Im am sick of this being a problem and never having help with my account. I cant even get a service pin unless I walk into Walmart. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE TO ANYONE. Im looking for a new service as of today because im fed up, and im done giving my money to a crap phone company

I've been with straight talk for years…

I've been with straight talk for years and have earned quite a few rewards points. I've tried several times to use them and it would never work. So yesterday I called and after 3 reps told me they don't know what to do they'd send it up the line and I'd get a call yesterday. It's now 5pm the next day and still no call. I'm done with these morons and Verizon really screwed them up. There twice as bad now that Verizon bought them. So tomorrow we switch our 4 phones to T-Mobile

Spent 1000 dollars for a new phone in April. Tried to do a system update and the ew phone just quit while trying to install it. Contacted customer service and was told I could get a replacement phone called 2 days later cause I got no email confirmation and now they are telling me they can't replace it. They do not know how to treat their customers right. First agent refused to transfer me to a supervisor told me I couldn't even wait on hold for one so called until I got someone to get me a supervisor now on hold. Thinking it's time to switch carries cause this is bullshit they are basically telling me sorry u bought a brand new phone from us but ur out 1000 bucks

I have had straight talk for a decade

I have had straight talk for a decade, it was perfect until November of last year. The data runs out days before the end date and my phone is pretty much useless, and renewing my service every month is a whole ordeal. Back and forth with signing in and incorrect codes. Calling customer service is no better. This is my last month with straight talk

Throttling of unlimited internet…

Throttling of unlimited internet access. Two weeks with ultra slow service, no change with new billing cycle and even less accessible then it was before the new billing cycle. 7 hours and 24 calls to the gook customer service. Either is is a case of fraud by the company or a deliberate denial of service. And walmart says it is not thier problem even though they are the authorized representative. If the is a new class action I would love to join it . Or start a new action because it is obvious the last two class action suits did not fix ant of the fraudulent activities of straight talk or walmart

$200 credit toward purchase of phone

This review is specific to the $200 phone reward after one year of service. I was told I had a reward for $200 to use toward any phone at Straight Talk or Walmart. Considering the vast array of choices I went with walmart.com. I picked out the phone I wanted and it was a Note 20 Ultra. I had one in the past and it was my favorite of all. I was super excited. I put in the card number per instructions but was unable to use my credit. I called Straight Talk. A nice lady assisted me and tried and was unable to complete the purchase. She suggested I go to the Walmart store as it was a walmart.com issue. I live a good distance from Walmart and decided to give it another try and had the same issue. I had a nice young man assist me at Straight Talk and he tried for 45 minutes to complete the transaction but was also unable to. He escalated the ticket. When on the Walmart app I saw a feature id never seen before that said benefit programs. Since the credit was applied to a ‘device OTC’ I clicked the tab. About 3 phones showed up as eligible. They were about $50 phones. So I would lose the rest of my reward. I wasn’t able to purchase my Note 20. I called Straight Talk again explained the problem and the gentleman suggested I find a phone any phone from their app and found several phones that were very nice and decided to use my credit there. After finding the phone I wanted he was unable to complete the transaction using the card number I had been provided. After being on hold he told me he was sorry that since I had put it in my wallet at Walmart I had to use it there and it could not be used at Straight Talk. The $200 credit issued by Straight Talk couldn’t be transferred back. I was told they were sorry but they would do nothing. I explained I was told I could use the reward on any phone at Walmart but this was untrue. Even the straight talk employees assisting me believed this to be true. They didn’t care. This appears to be a way for straight talk to get out of issuing the full reward. You think you’re getting a $200 credit but find you can only purchase a $50 or $60 cheap phone and they get to keep most of their money. I feel tricked and uninformed. I feel a company as big as Straight Talk should honor the credit on the phone of my choice at Walmart just as they wouod on their site. Many carrier phones are compatible with Straight Talk. I feel I was terribly mislead and this is poor business practice.
