It's an ok alternative to using the storefront on your console. It used to be better when it also supported both the PS3 and the Vita digital stores (they're still going on the consoles). Prices are also hit and miss. Why digital games are now as expensive as physical games is a mystery to me. Wasn't the storefronts supposed to allow for cheaper games due to the lack of physical media, transport, import fees, etc? My advise is no matter the price of the game or if it's in their sales, always shop around with the physical retailers before buying on the PSN.
PlayStation support can be hit or miss with their timing and helpfulness. Somethings like refunds can be done through online forums. But from my experience most problems require a call to PlayStation support, where you'll be waiting in a queue for ages just to speak to someone who'll need to raise the ticket with someone else internally. Afterwards it's then 50%/50% if they'll then sort out your issue.

Absolute joke of a company. Been with playstation many years, I mean many many years. Bought probably thousands in games and subscriptions. Knew a subscription was coming up for renewal so went into my playstation store to cancel to find it not there. Great checked everything nothing to say it was active. Left it, then taken money from my account. So as you do cancelled and went to playstation to find out how to get a refund considering I couldn't find a way to cancel it. To be told nah you don't get a refund? So why make it so hard to cancel a subscription? Oh yeah so you get caught out. Disgusting person from the support who closed the ticket because they dont want to actually deal with your issue.

Quick and Easy, But Prices Could Be Bett
I’ve been using the PlayStation Store for years now, and it’s always been a reliable source for games and content. Downloading games is simple, and the store is easy to navigate. I’ve never had any major issues with my purchases, and I appreciate the regular sales they have. My only complaint is that sometimes the prices feel a bit high, even with discounts, but overall, I’ve always found what I’m looking for and the experience has been smooth.

Wow, what a nightmare!
Wow, what can I say? Truly one of the most horrendous experiences I’ve ever had to go through. A word of advice, turn off your 2 step verification if you’ve changed your phone number, PlayStation are useless at helping you gain access to your account. Even if you give them your credit card details and email address and your ps serial number they still cannot help you with the last transaction ID that was made, which for me was years ago so I now don’t have it. They still won’t help. Horrible company.

Interested in your money, not you!
I requested a refund for a game bought accidentally and suspiciously. What do they do? Permanently suspend my account 3 days later so they can "protect my account" but then all they ask me about is why I requested the chargeback from my bank.
Simply could have checked that I already submitted a refund request, didn't download the game, nor even ever played a game like that and let bygones be bygones or just check if Im happy with the state of my account if neccessary.
Now my kids have to wait 3 days (or forever) during their school holidays.
Pathetic.
Region-locking accounts for the retro vibes?
I still can't believe that it's 202X and users can't change their account region for a Playstation account. I moved from my original location a few years ago and was still using a US Paypal account for funds into my Playstation account. However, after crossing the point where almost all of my money comes into a different region bank account, I wanted to at least switch my payment information. Playstation won't allow you to add a payment method from outside your region (EU Paypal errors out, adding an EU credit card won't work because it locks the address to US). As a side note, I made the mistake of buying a physical copy of a game here in EU, launched it just fine from my US region-locked PSN account on my console, and then couldn't buy any DLC for the game since the store said I don't own the game... lol.
It's unreal to me that this kind of setup still exists, and the "solutions" offered are even more absurd: buy balance gift cards elsewhere and pay for those with a local card, or create an entirely new account in the other region (and thus losing your history/achievements/DLC access/etc. for the games you already own)?
So, I ended up just removing payment information altogether and now I won't buy anything from Playstation for what I'm assuming is going to be forever. Thanks for helping me save money. Peace out!

Misleading Game Information & No Customer Support
1. No Clear Disclosure About Online Requirements
- The PS Store did not mention that this is an online-only game.
- I only discovered this after downloading it, which is frustrating.
2. PS Plus Paywall
- To even play the game, you must have PS Plus—an extra cost that wasn’t stated upfront.
- Now, I can’t get a refund because I’ve already downloaded it.

brought a digital game, these clowns stopped me from accessing it and dlc . spoke to customer service who said they get back in 5 days... 7 days later no sign of anything. contacted customer service who told me to wait, 2 days later still told me to wait with 0 reason its taking so long. asked to talk to manager the ignore me (all the advisors ignore this and complaints about their colleagues)and said the chat was supervised asked for refund and the scumbag cut me off. cant buy the game again cos store stops me or on disc cos these clowns sell a driveless console. dont be fooled by the kind reply they will write after this message. the chat reps they ironically call playstation "experts" knows nothing and dont even speak english as their native tounge so takes 3 or 4 times to even get anything through and even then they still manage to mess it up. im not surprised if they reported my issue as something else. Monopoly causes complacency, cancelled PS5 Pro preorder and going PC next generation. keep your PortStation clowns.

Idk why is so many people rating them so low, maybe they do make some mistakes but in general, I like playstation.
What I bought recently was PS5 and I don't see any real reason to get PS5 pro becasue they didn;t change anything in like soo many year and it's a bit sad :(
But overall, I like them because they have good service and recently I bought PS5 controller because I needed one more and it was great. What I like is that even if you add skins like camouflatge or something else, the price don't change and it was quite a deal.

Playstation.com are thieves. You buy things for your account and at any point in time they can permanently ban you from your account for whatever reason they make up. You can't talk to an actual person or dispute their opinions and or fact checking. No customer service no nothing but stealing money. Gear store in canada charges massive duties and tariffs for products to canada. They don't inform you or include it in check out. They also do not refund purchases cost if you refuse charges. Huge scam.
The duty and extra charges are hidden in terms page and not part of checkout, process is opaque and not transparent. Consumer has zero warning or options.
