Awful experience and zero customer…

Awful experience and zero customer service. I’ve been waiting more than three months to be sent the return label. I tried to return before Christmas but was the repairs were not being done and to wait for the new year! The bracelet I want to return is faulty, the elastic band used has snapped making it unwearable. They supposedly offer a lifetime guarantee but it’s clearly false advertising. In the meantime and unbeknown to me my wife purchased a separate bracelet which was returned based on being too small, the measurements are way off, what was ordered is not what arrived. Instead of exchanging for a larger size as agreed they have just returned the exact same bracelet that was sent for an exchange! Avoid spending money with these charlatans, and find an alternative

POOR QUALITY - AVOID

I very rarely leave negative reviews. I bought a lava bead bracelet from Stone and May just over a year ago. It has elasticated strands which are starting to snap. I was going to return the item as I recall it is “guarantee” but hearing the reviews, I guess this may be painful, so I’m just going to accept it was a poor choice of mine. I also see their website is no longer in existence. I paid over £100 so not cheap. One other reviewer claims he/she had a response saying negative reviews are of no concern. Not a good attitude and it would appear these negative reviews have taken an effect now!!

Great Quality. Great Service ❤️

A couple of years ago I bought a volcanic lava bracelet which I thought was very good quality, and the service from Stone and May was good as well.

For Christmas I bought my husband a tigers eye bracelet and onyx bracelet. They were packaged well and well presented. They arrived in good time and tracking was provided. I was happy with products and service.

I have just bought another 5 bracelets; moonstone, howlite, angelite, amazonite and another volcanic lava. Again, tracking was provided, they arrived in good time and I absolutely love them.

I placed my most recent order over 2 orders on the same day. I qualified for free shipping in the 1st but charged on the 2nd. I emailed them and they combined shipping and gave me a refund for the shipping fee I paid.

Thank you for sending these beautiful jewellery pieces and providing a consistently good customer experience 🙏

Non existent customer service!

We have purchased 6 beaded bracelets from Stone and May. All was good until our last recent order for 2 bracelets. One was fine, the other poor quality and no resemblance to the bracelet on the website. We have now sent two emails on the matter to Stone & May, a week apart and neither have received a response! Very poor customer service! All I can say if you have a problem they don’t want to know. We will dispute the transaction with our card company and recommend this as a course of action to anyone having a problem with a recent purchase from Stone and May.

Beautiful skull cuff broken

I bought a beautiful skull cuff bracelet and I have not taken it off my wrist since purchase. However unfortunately it has completely broken…literally saw something fall to the ground in the morning, looked down and my bracelet was in two. I am devastated, I really treated myself to this bracelet and have taken such good care of it, followed instructions of not opening and closing it as it’s been on my wrist the entire time. I then realised there was a lifetime warranty so contacted them on two different emails with no response, Instagram message and then finally the form on their website to which they replied to eventually but blamed me and suggested I’ve not taken care of it. Without seeing my original email or photos of the bracelet. Said it’s not covered in the warranty…so I feel it’s really misleading as you have to click on a separate link to find this info and it also states it’s if the item is opened over and over it’s weakens it which is obvious and granted but that’s not what’s happened with mine as it’s not come off my wrist for me to do that the entire time I’ve had it. For this reason I won’t be repurchasing from them as I feel I’ve been blamed for a fault when I’ve done nothing but take care of the item. Such a shame as it’s so beautiful and this was an expensive purchase for me so it meant a lot.
I understand it’s a small business so emails replies won’t be super fast but I emailed weeks before I tried to submit a form on their website so it’s disappointing customer service and I do feel like I’ve not been listened to or acknowledged as I’ve genuinely taken care of my bracelet.

Fantastic products and service.

Fantastic products and service from Stone & May. I have purchased a few bracelets from them and found the workmanship exceptional as well as their customer service. The fact that they offer a lifetime warranty for overhauls and repairs speaks for itself. On this occasion you truly get what you pay for.

I have bought 2 x Tigers Eye bracelets

I have bought 2 x Tigers Eye bracelets, 2 x Onyx bracelets, 1 x Howlite bracelet and a Wheel of Life pendant.

These were different orders and I never encountered any issue with my orders. Kat was also kind enough to replace a broken part on my pendant that was due to wear and tear, not a manufacturing fault.

These are handmade products and I highly recommend Stone and May.

I will definitely be purchasing more products in the future.

The negative reviews appear to be issues which could have been resolved had people read the sizing and returns policy.

Do not let the negative reviews put you off.

Terrible customer service at Stone & May

Terrible customer service . I recently purchased an Onyx bracelet in size medium having bought a Tigers eye bracelet last year . As a returning customer it should have straight forward surely as I bought a medium before . No , the new Onyx one was clearly smaller . I emailed and had a reply from Kat asking to send a picture . I did putting my other Tigers eye bracelet in the picture so that they could clearly see . Kat then replied saying a medium should have 22 / 23 beads , I replied saying that the medium I have had 24 beads . I was then told from Kat that ironically they changed their sizing in 2022 . My reply was well there was nothing stating that on the website and that I’d bought the medium again in good faith as I had a medium already . I mean how was I to know they had changed the sizes which I suspect is total rubbish . Anyway I was told from Kat that I would need to pay £9 to return the bracelet and a further £13 for them to send it back !! Is this a way to treat a returning customer who was sincere , not seeking a refund and only wanted the bracelet sized correctly , all of which was not my fault . There has been no reply since I sent my last email stating how unhappy I was to have to pay postage when it’s their mistake . I’ll never shop here again and would warn anyone to stay well clear . Kat has zero customer service skills and karma will coming calling when people from the uk stop shopping with this outfit . It isn't the money for me , I’ll happy give it away , it’s the principle and how shockingly bad their customer service was and looking on here clearly is .

Hi Giovanni

Thank you for your review.

No, it is not total rubbish that our sizing had changed. It is true that each size of bracelet has been one (just one) stone bead smaller since 2022. However, our sizing guide has remained the exact same which means the new stone amounts still fit the recommended wrist circumferences, which are as follows:

Small - wrist circumference of 14.5cm-15.5cm
Medium - wrist circumference of 15.5cm-17.5cm
Large - wrist circumference of 17.5cm-19.5cm
Extra Large - wrist circumference of 19.5cm-21.5cm

The above information and guidelines for choosing a size have NOT changed.

As one stone bead does not make a difference in fit big enough to make the bracelet not fit entirely this information was not provided on our website. I suspect that even if it was, not every customer, especially returning would read it, because we already provide extensive sizing (as well as other) information about our products. Realistically, if you are a returning customer and are buying the same product again - would you read all of the description again? Personally I wouldn't. Also, how long would you expect us to keep this information up for? 2 years, 5 year, 10 years? Again, the difference of one stone bead did not impact the overall sizing which is provided in our size guide.

You are welcome to return the product if it doesn't suit you.

Soon, as it gets more and more difficult for small businesses to function as everything is being taken over by huge companies who can afford this so called ''good customer service'' (which I assume means: the business pays for absolutely everything even if it's not at fault, just to appease the customer) customers will be left with little to no alternatives but cheap, mass produced products available at marketplaces such as Amazon.

So, a one star review over one, singular stone bead. :)

Unresolved issue which I'm not willing to pay out any more money !!

Most of the negative reviews are for same reason, don't feel need to go into every detail as I said I agree.
I overlooked one email as I was sent so many trying to sort this.
Kat's reply to my dissatisfaction was negative reviews don't affect my business, keep stacking them up and I'm sure this might change anyway thank you for my ring 😊

Hi Sharon!

Of course I will bother replying. You have provided zero information on the issue therefore making your review completely untrustworthy and pointless.

Sharon contacted me to exchange a product for a different size. Sharon is located in the UK, my company is based in Poland (Brexit, remember). I had provided her with the instructions on how to proceed with the exchange. Bear in mind we are a small business that does not offer free exchange postage. Here's my exact email, which is always the same for all customers:

''A postage label for a small tracked parcel to our workshop in Poland is 8.30GBP. Payment is arranged via PayPal. Once we receive the payment I will send you a ready postage label and filled out CN22 Customs Declaration.

You can use our shipping box and secure it appropriately or put the jewelry box in a padded envelope.

Once the exchange is finalised return shipping to the UK is either 13GBP for UPS or 8GBP for tracked post.

I will send you the PayPal request shortly, it will be in a separate email from PayPal. ''

Sharon had then informed she doesn't use PayPal. The very next day I sent her a link to pay for the label through our website, much like buying a product. No issue.

Sharon had paid and this is my email that followed:

'Please find attached your return label and filled out customs form. Please attach both to the parcel and do not make any alterations to the labels as they will become invalid. The label will expire in 7 days. You can post the parcel from any post office.'

Some time has passed and Sharon emailed me asking 'Hi I am still waiting for this to arrive , do you have an update ?'

I was a bit confused as I had not received her parcel with the product to make the exchange. I told her this and she said 'I haven't received the packaging to return the ring yet, paid for over 2 weeks ago ?'

I was then even more confused. We don't provide return packaging and I had never informed Sharon that we do. Nowhere on our website do we state that we provide return packaging so where did this info come from? Honestly, I shop online a lot and it's been years since I had a company provide return packaging. Sharon was sent the label immediately after she had paid for it, but it's up to the customer how they package their parcel. I had told her she can use our shipping box - the one she received the product in originally - as that is what 90% of my customers do.

I explain this to Sharon as well as the fact that her label is now expired as it's been over 7 days. Sharon then admits to overlooking this information:
'Just checked my emails I've overlooked this , I was expecting a return envelope by post. I haven't used this but paid for it , I don't see why I would have to repay for it .
You can just email another one?'

I proceed to explain to Sharon that I can't get a refund from Royal Mail if the label is expired. Due to this if she wants a new label we will have to purchase it again and she would have to pay for it. This is where Sharon disagreed with me and told me the exchange process has been very complicated and I have not made this an easy process for her.

Now I don't know how much easier I can make this for my customers. All I ask of my customers is to provide payment then I generate and fill out the label and customs form for them. All they have to do then is place the label on their parcel and post from their local post office within 7 days (this is Royal Mail's rule not mine!).

I don't understand how it is my fault that Sharon somehow misunderstood me and expected return packaging. Sharon admitted to overlooking information about the expiry date of the provided label. Yet even after admitting to this Sharon blamed me for the issue. Unfortunately, as a small business we cannot afford to pay for the errors of our customers. Yes, customers can make errors too, let's be realistic.

You be the judge, dear Reader.

Logo on pendant!

We bought a pendant with a specific design on it. Sadly on the back of the pendant there is indented a large SM! So if the pendant the wrong way around all anyone will see are the letters SM. It was not possible to know before buying the pendant that it would have SM on the back! Also the chain is very delicate.

I'm honestly quite baffled by this review.

First of all, I can't find you in our customers base so I don't know which pendant and chain you ordered.

Second, I have had no emails from yourself regarding this. Had you contacted us we could have arranged a return if you were unhappy with the product? Just a thought.

Third - yes, you ordered a product from a brand. Our branding is on the product.

And lastly, yes pendant chains can be very delicate. I think most people who are jewellery wearers have had a chain break on them (side note - you did not report that yours broke so what is the issue here?). Our pendants don't come with pre selected pendant chains which means you choose which (if any at all) pendant chain you want. Some are more delicate than others. Perhaps a more chunky one would have been more suitable for you, but that is your choice.

Kind regards
Kat

Poor experience all round…

Poor experience all round unfortunately. Necklace was nice but it broke when pulling a jumper off - quite fragile.
When contacted company they charged me to return for mending. There was a complicated overseas process which could have been simplified. When it went missing they blamed me for filling in a form wrong and shrugged their shoulders. They haven’t been in touch since, they don’t care it seems.
So unfortunately
- poor product
- poor repairs process
- poor communication
- lack of customer support.

I would avoid.

Hi Amanda

Yes unfortunately the shipping costs for repairs have to be covered by the customer, however the actual repairs, which include a full restoration and polishing service of the silver pieces, are completely free and include replacement materials as well.

Yes jewellery in general is very fragile! I won't deny that one bit. :)

Yes unfortunately as you have made alterations to the pre generated and pre filled out customs form that I sent you, which I asked you specifically not to do as that would make them void, the parcel has not been accepted through customs.

I did NOT blame you for filling out a form wrong, because you did NOT have to fill out a form as it was filled out for you by me! Please don't be untruthful.

The parcel has not gone missing, according to the tracking it is on its way back to the sender (yourself). You also have access to the tracking number.

Unfortunately in this situation that I have been put in I don't have any additional support to offer you.

Kind regards
Kat

Appalling experience

First thing to say is a had an original order of a skull signet ring which was great and I have had a lot of wear - I’ll give honest background to my review as I did have a previous successful order.

New designs were released - dagger signets. Based on previous order I purchased these in both silver and gold.

On arrival I unpacked and looked at the silver one and it wasn’t quite as good as expected but I did wear it. I work in an office and when I returned home I noticed the silver was all scratched. I wouldn’t expect silver to scratch like that from one wear (particularly sat at a desk)

On reviewing the website when I got home I was actually horrified when I compared the item I got to the image on the website. It became very apparent there had been some issue with the moulding and there was a ring around the dagger on both the silver and gold rings and both daggers lacked the definition substantially of the advertised product.

I acknowledge I should have checked sooner but as I was waiting more than 3 weeks since I ordered it wasn’t fresh in my mind.

I contacted the company in question (I’d already had to contact them about delivery and it was somehow my fault they don’t check their spam folder in case customer emails have gone to the wrong place).

I got no acknowledgement about the absolutely terrible quality of the items. It was deemed to be my fault the silver had scratched and not a quality issue.

I was offered a 20% refund for the items (I had got some discount for ordering more than one item when I ordered). However I considered the rings were still not worth that amount of money and I have seen better quality in those machines you get at a fair. Or for £5 in a cheap jewellery shop for costume jewellery.

After multiple exchanges and a really poor attitude from the store we agreed I could return the gold one but I had to keep the silver (which has gone in the bin). So I am still significantly out of pocket.

The store advised they would send the customs form so there were no issues. And to be honest the customers form stated the item was valued at £15 and I think this is the only truthful information about this poor quality item. Albeit I think it constitutes false information on a customs declaration when they charge £65 for the item. Albeit they are probably only worth £15 (based on the quality of the ones I received they weren’t worth that).

The item went back and I received the refund for 1 ring and 20% for the other I was “lucky” enough to get to keep.

I can see another review reference quality and tarnishing and the lifetime warranty which clearly is non-existed as is quality control.

The attitude which I received wasn’t the best and I would be embarrassed to put my name to the horrendous quality item I received.

I had recommended this site to other people and have now shown them the photographs of the quality of the last ones I got and the reaction to those is shock and generally followed by a laugh that someone tried to pass off the item I received as the item on the website.

If it was a QC issue and that was acknowledged and the actual item shown on the website sent with an apology it would have been an issue. These things happen but misleading customers by the images on a website is not acceptable and I have made enquiries with the polish equivalent of Trading Standards as this company is based in Poland.

False advertising- no warranty and poor quality

Initially I gave this company a 5* review as the jewellery was lovely. However the long term quality is APPALLING.

The silver tarnishes very quickly (despite following their silver care advice). I contacted the company regarding significant tarnishing on the signet ring I bought within a month of purchase, as it was still under the so called “lifetime warranty” but they said to buy a silver cloth and did not offer a cleaning like advertised. I did by a cloth and it has still tarnished more.

Just yesterday the cuff I bought only 7 months ago snapped. Again covered by their “lifetime” warranty, I contacted the company who informed me that the warranty doesn’t cover this. So despite the break resulting from the poor quality of their product, and advertising “lifetime warranty”, neither of the pieces I bought were covered. So I would ask them what is actually covered by their “lifetime warranty”???

I will be making a formal complaint for false advertising. They do not have any warranty policy, since all their products are excluded apparently.

Advice: avoid this company and shop at other stores like CRAFTD instead.
