As an adobe contributor, I'm worried and tense because my 4 years work and struggles went within a second with just an email for Adobe stock. Such an horrible experience.

Deleted the account but got billed anyway

I opened a trial for Adobe Stock, but I did not want to continue using it. I knew I must make sure to net get billed. Strange was, in my account I could not find any subscription that I could cancel. This was mid february two weeks before end of the trial period. So to make sure, I deleted the account. Guess what. Now I found 35$ billed on my creditcard. I had to chat with their support and they tell me the account is still active. Looks all like a trick to me. But at least in the end they accepted to terminate my subcription and promised a refound. Nevertheless cost me 1 hour solving the problem they created.

It's a rip-off

They should have better cancellation terms. Not recommended and not value for money. Even working out how to cancel is not intuitive. I'd already spent a fair deal of money (£24 a month) and then get stung - over £100 for cancelling. You should not be penalised for cancelling a subscription. Steer well clear of this scam.

BEWARE of details they hide!

This product is a VERY close to a scam! They get you by signing you up for a YEARLY contract but hiding that info! No one does yearly contracts anymore! They put in LARGE letters that it is "risk-free". And then they trick you into thinking you are just getting a month-to-month subscription, when in fact just the PAYMENT is month to month and the contract is for a year.

Worst AI images ever

I used it to buy images but they sell AI generated images that are outrageous, the preview is too small to see all the errors and defects they have so you realize it only after you bought it. When you search you can disable the AI options but if you forget about it, then you waste your money. They should delete the AI option, or disable it by default, and let you choose if you want to enable it. It's crazy that if you submit images as a contributor they require perfection, but Mr. AI can do the worst stuff and it's ok.

HOW TO CANCEL WITHOUT A FEE

Adobe Stock is leading its customers into a binding contract without highlighting the early cancellation fee. The early cancellation fee is hidden in the T&Cs which is poor customer experience. I accidentally signed up and when I tried to cancel there was no help provided. The customer services agent (Mansi) left the conversation when I expressed my concern.

Thankfully I found the solution below in earlier comments from May 2022. I can confirm that the below still works.

WHAT TO DO TO CANCEL WITHOUT A FEE?
CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT PLAN AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CANCEL IMMEDIATELY AFTER within the trial window (usually 14 days).

It would have been good if the solution came from Customer Services. It is a shame for Adobe that they are 1) guiding customers into a binding contract 2) they aren't helping their customers to find a solution. I spent nearly 3 hours today with this issue. I am thoroughly disappointed in this product and the company.

I've used Adobe for years

I've used Adobe for years, and love them, so I am incredibly disappointed that they have this scam of a contract for Adobe stock. If you do the free trial and forget to cancel, they will enroll you for a full year of $36/month that you can't cancel without a fee. Then once your membership FINALLY ends, all of your unused credits disappear.

Very disheartening. I will be cancelling my memberships and learning how to use new editing software with better business practices.

Getting absolutely terrible

Getting absolutely terrible. Lazy AI generated images are taking over most categories I search wanting real photography... barely any real photography anymore. All Adobe cares about is making money ...no surprises there I know!

So many mixed feelings

First, let me start with I am a HUGE fan of Adobe, and their creative suite is next-level. I don't go a day without using an Adobe product during the course of business. That said, Adobe Stock is a mediocre service. (1) Their credit system in weak. And it is absolutely annoying that you can't use extra photo credits for stock video. Dumb. (2) Quitting is impossible. I get a number of credits per month and they carryover. As a result I have 100+ unused credits. If I cancel, I lose them all. So I'm stuck.

With all of that, the images are high quality and I use them regularly. But, man, they could really turn this into a great product with a couple of tweaks.

They do not even deserve 1 star

They do not even deserve 1 star! They are a bunch of greedy, dirty, unreachable money sucking bunch of scammers. You can not cancel your account until you pay for the whole year after the trial. They have a filthy policy which is very unclear so watch out for these scammers! Good I got my own tricks up my sleave and I was able to avoid this. A big middle finger!

The content is only fairly good

The content is only fairly good, but if the subscription if cancelled we're charged in a lump sum payment until the end of the period, in my case it was £144. I also lost all the credits I'd accumulated. which being a student was very very hard. My advice is to avoid subscription to this rip off at all costs, there are plenty of alternatives around. Terrible way to treat their customers and don't deserve any.

Cancelation Fee Con

The content is of reasonable quality and variety, but their fee systems are a huge rip off. When cancelling, you not only lose any credits that you've already bought and paid for, but what's worse, they slap you with a huge early cancellation fee. Even though you sign up to a monthly contract, they still charge you with the difference between the date you join and a full 12 months. Horrible way to treat your customers.

Free - as in cheating you. Greed is killing.

Got tired of seeing the try 7-day free trial so I removed Adobe completely inc. 77 entries in regedit and installed
Sumatra PDF Reader.

Adobe has so many negative reviews that it is incredible that a company that once made the best in photo editing and vector handling has lost control due to greed.

I get drawn a lot of money every month, without the opportunity to end it

I received an email with a reminder of Adobe Stock monthly subscription plus other products, where I am drawn around 500 NOK/ 44 Euros a month. The email contained a link to manage this so called "subscription", but it is impossible to administer and end this subscription! They referred to the Apple account, where the "purchase" had been done, but there is no Adobe Stock-subscription to end there. So, I tried to contact Adobes customer service, but there is no customer service! You are just sent into a loop, and end up chatting with a chat-bot. "You can quit your subscription at any time through your Adobe account or by contacting customer support" it says in the email, but this is misleading! Adobe delivers good products, but you lose total control of your money, because they steal without you being able to end it. This is poor treatment of consumers, and should not have been allowed to operate this way! Unethical and irresponsible.

$149 fee for canceling a monthly…

$149 fee for canceling a monthly subscription?!?

This is a scam comparable to gyms with a free trial, then make it hard to cancel, and finally fine you 6X the monthly cost to cancel a "monthly plan".

Signed up for a trial and forgot to cancel. The monthly fee is on me for that (they do hide the subscription in your account), but charging an extra 6 months is a scam that companies like Adobe should be above.

I lost all money and idle work !!!

I worked hard and posted about 1,700 high-quality drone videos all over the world in two years to stock.adobe.com (contributor 210938883)
And this is really a lot of work!
A couple of years passed and money started coming in. I won’t say that you can somehow live on this money, but I persistently continued to upload and hoped that in the future my family would be able to improve their financial situation.
Once I clicked on the "Withdraw money to Paypal" button, but the next morning I discovered that my account was blocked !!! 8-(
My heart beat faster because there was a risk of losing a huge job...
On the blocking screen there was a link - I clicked on it and asked a question - why?
I waited about 2 weeks - silence...
Then I found e-mail contributor-support @adobe.com - and after some time my account was unblocked! Hooray!
But I discovered that I was fined $38.36
I started corresponding with Diego from the support service to find out why the account was blocked and why I was fined money.
But weeks passed and there was active correspondence - a lot of words and even more water... But I was never told the reason for the blocking and no one returned the money to me! Disgusting!
But this is not the end of the sad story - a week ago I clicked on my favorite button “Withdraw money to Paypal” - but the next morning I was horrified to see the familiar account block screen!
I immediately wrote to Diego in support - and to my disappointment a week passed, but no one answered me and I did not receive the money!

I don't even know what to do...
Now I’m intensively uploading on esp.gettyimages and contributor-accounts.shutterstock
(I can’t upload to pond5 - they don’t accept the ProRez codec)

Please advise what to do?

ai generated pics, supporting genocide

why is adobe stock allowing fake ai generated photos of the palestinian genocide on their site without making it abundantly clear they're fake? disappointing, and horrifying.

The worst customer support ever - both for the buyer and for the contributor. Unethical behavior.

I work with Adobe Stock both as a customer (I'm a graphic designer) and as a contributor since 2016

As a customer, I found it impossible to resolve certain billing issues - the site wouldn't accept my credit card, and the support took weeks to respond. When they did, it was just generic, unhelpful copy-paste.

From a contributor's perspective, it's even worse. I'd like to remind Adobe take 67% of the revenue from the sale of author's images. Yet, there's zero service for contributors! On the contrary: they keep getting blocked without any explanation. The formal reason often cited is a violation of intellectual property rights, but they never specify exactly where the contributor went wrong. With over a million things registered as intellectual property under various conditions worldwide, you can't know all these intricacies. The moderators reviewing your works on upload are clearly not experts – neither in the field of images nor in copyrights. They often reject things that aren't copyrighted and, conversely, approve what shouldn't be. Perhaps they intentionally approve contentious works to later use them as a basis to ban someone. The ethical and right approach would be to delete the violating work from the portfolio and explain to the author why such works cannot be uploaded. But this doesn't happen – they instantly block the entire portfolio, not allowing a person to earn. Meanwhile, one can wait for a response (even an automated copy-paste from the support bot) for months. I'd like to remind you that the works in a contributor's portfolio don't just appear out of thin air - they are the result of hard work. Work that, due to Adobe's incompetent and unethical actions, doesn't generate income for either party.

Adobe Stock's treatment of its contributors, as if they're inherently spammers and malicious violators, is frustrating and depressing.

Such unethical treatment of people, especially those who generate revenue for the company, is unacceptable. I advise everyone to use other stock platforms and software products. There are many more ethical and user-friendly alternatives out there.
