Really quick response

Really quick response, even though the ai phone assistance said there was no appointments for another few days I got a call to say a slot had become available. Ben was out to me Really quickly, was lovely to deal with and had the issue identified almost straight away. All pricing was discussed upfront and payment/invoices dealt with efficiently. Great experience

Let down after initial positive experience…

I initially ha a positive experience with Stillorgan Gas for a boiler service. The engineer who serviced th eboiler identifies a necessary repair and told me that he needed to irder the parts and set up an appointment to fit them. I received a date and time slot for today 11-1pm and was asked to pay 100€ over the phone. At 1 pm today I called the office and was told that the engineer had been held up in an earlier job and would surely come between 1pm and 4pm. At 3:55pm he still had not arrived. When I called the office, I was told that he might not arrive today. A potential date which still had to be confirmed was given for Friday.

While your initial service went well, we completely understand how frustrating the delay and lack of clear updates must have been. Unfortunately, the parts needed are not currently in stock with our suppliers, and we are still waiting on confirmation from them despite following up again this morning and yesterday by giving a physical visit to the suppliers.

We do apologise for the poor communication on the day — we should have kept you better informed.

As soon as we have an update, we’ll be in touch to arrange a new appointment.

Phone operator lied, possibly, about operational area

Called Stillorgan Gas to on 12 March at approx 1230 to arrange a full service for a condensing boiler.

I was informed that they do not travel all they way out to the distant climes of Dublin 24, despite their website stating they do: see the "why-they-call-us-the-boiler-kings" page on their website.

I got the distinct impression that the person I spoke to on the phone simply did not want to do the work involved in booking a service.

Problem sorted

We had a few small leaks, and one larger (unknown) leak. Had Stillogsn gas send a few plumbers and they managed to fix the problem…it wasn’t straightforward!
Found them very helpful and responsive. Special shout to Francisco for all his help! Highly recommend.

Very good experience overall

Very good experience overall. Very polite and friendly service person.
Only negative is that I had to phone in to check that he was coming that day. I made the appointment many months previously but would have appreciated a call to confirm.

The issue has not been solved

The water pressure issue has been resolved. However, the issue with the boiler automatically turning on and off in auto mode has not been resolved yet, and I am still waiting for the company’s solution.

In addition, when the engineer was at my home, he was frequently on the phone, apparently dealing with another customer’s issue, which affected the focus and time spent on my service.

Expensive but they will turn up, even if no repair work is done

My elderly family member paid €120 for a call out to repair a non-functional oil boiler.

Stillorgan gas arrived at the agreed time.
But 8 minutes later, they were gone (per cctv camera showing an empty driveway).

No repair works were done. They blamed a failed part that they didn't stock and would take a few days to source and that it likely would be fairly expensive, but they'd call back in a few days, leaving my elderly family member in the cold in the meantime.

True to their word, they phoned back, but it was 5 days later.

However, I engaged a different plumber to sort it in the interim. That plumber assessed it was a common part that failed, he had 5 of them in the van as its one of the most popular parts required (they cost just €15+VAT) and he had the repair done in less than 10 minutes. He waived his callout fee after hearing that "another plumber" had let us down.

No doubt Stillorgan gas will respond to this, as they respond to everything, but the above is factually correct. I am not including any personal identifiers for GDPR reasons, as is my right.

Prompt,efficient,and knowledgeable service

A minor weep from the cylinder/immersion was dealt with by Alan urgently.i have dealt with other firms in the Dublin area over past 25 years and this was far and away the most ,prompt, efficient and courteous service. I highly recommend this company Thomas Conroy

Avoid at all cost

Looked promising initially as very prompt response and next day call out. Issue was with Radiators not heating.

But overall I would say avoid at all cost. Informed that the pressure was low and given a quote to repair this. Fixed price for this which was accepted. However it didn’t fix the issue. The young plumber remained for a further 3 hours, charging e120 per hour. Problem still not fixed and over e1000 spent. Throwaway remarks about needing a new boiler.

2 days later, woke at night to hear water dripping. Looked into the attic where the new pipes had been inserted. Pipes were leaking, and had wet all items in the hotpress.

Rang again & a very prompt response, as clearly a mistake had been made. Different plumber accompanied younger guy ( who had inserted new pipes) and rectified the leak. By the time they arrived the leak was significant. ( have photos and videos).

Inserted chemical into radiators in an attempt to remove possible sludge. Radiators worked for a few days. Again not working. Chemical due to be removed after a few weeks.

Rang again asking for this to be removed, Damien couldn’t give a price for removal, no availability until January and the price quoted was now e140 per hour and he didn’t appear to know how many hours.

So overall I would recommend stay away unless a very minor issue, as clearly this company do not feel oblidged to stand over their work

Tails Upgrade & EV Home Charger

From the moment I made contact & following the site visit, I knew I had made the ‘right’ decision in going with Stillorgan Electrical Services. Two Electricians worked tirelessly all day in doing the necessary works for a tails upgrade & EV charger installation. I would highly recommend Stillorgan Electrical Services & I will definitely use their services again if needs be.

Very efficient and friendly service

We had a problem with the fan in our boiler and the issue was very quickly diagnosed by the technician. A follow up visit was promptly arranged to fit the replacement part. It was a very friendly and efficient experience and I would fully recommend the service.

A very professional service

I was very happy from the start dealing with Stillorgan Gas. Damian responded quickly when I rang the number, and we had a call out from the electricians the following day. Both young men were professional and thorough, and I was not charged a call out on the basis that the immersion problem turned out to be a plumbing rather than an electrical issue. Even more impressive was that Jack from the plumbing team called in three hours later, was equally professional and polite as his electrician colleagues, and inspected the immersion and arranged for a quote for the repair to be done the following day.

We have been using Stillorgan Gas for over 20 years, and we have always been very happy with the way they have responded: this latest experience confirms to us that the company is as professional as ever.
