Sterling doesn't know what's in their products
I'm always interested in how products perform in the long term, so I hope this review will be useful to others. Two and a half years ago I bought two AL1220 LFP batteries. One arrived not working. I sent it back and it was replaced free of charge (not the shipping, though. In hindsight, the issue was the BMS coming loose inside the case. Now, the original battery's BMS has died. I wrote off any warranty and opened up the case to see if I could fix it (no joy). However, I did discover that the cells in the battery were not prismatic cells, as advertised, but cylindrical cells. If something that fundamental is false, what else might be different to what the seller claims?
Sterling's response was simply to say that they had specified prismatic cells in their batteries. Present and future customers should be aware of this issue.
Very quick service and sensible price
I visited Sterling Products, Droitwich with my Combi S inverter which had a problem. I had asked on the phone if I could leave it with them for servicing, but when I arrived with it I was told that they would immediately do a full check and that I would be welcomed to experience the process. It was brilliant! The gentleman who did the job was very polite, quick and experienced, tested every item and in a short time he had changed the module and tested the repair. It was perfect! I departed with a good working inverter, a very fair price and an excellent service! Fantastic!

You can not get a better customer service than sterling power. Very helpful on the phone and the technical support team know exactly they are talking out. I'd recommend there batteries to anyone 100%. Many thanks for your time

I recently bought a camper conversion. Totally new to the electrics I thought the BB1200 unit wasn't working. A couple of phone calls to the techs at Sterling and a couple of checks proved that it was dead. Sent it off on a Friday, following Monday morning I had a email from a techie who said it was a simple diode fault and it was mended. Tuesday morning it was on my doorstep and I fitted it. Seems to be working perfectly.
I think this is the best customer service I've ever had, all the guys I spoke to to were polite and helpful. I'm still surprised at the speed of return.
In this world of rubbish customer care I wish more companies were as pleasant and efficient as Sterling Power Products.
Missing excellence by a long way
Solar charger. One wire always falls out connector when others dont. Screw just seems to not wind the holder properly.
Lipo batteries. Come with bluetooth battery monitor built in. On Ben Sterling wont work from those figures as they are by his words inaccurate. Battery £600 almost.
Bought 4 battery to battery chargers. All had problems. 120 amp flattened starter battery. Needed new battery cost £200 and Sterling would not pay for it. Shown video of their charger faulty.
Connectors in to 120 amp charger only accept diameter like pencil. Correct wiring for the power produced is like 5 pencils round. Clearly bad design.
1600 watt sterling power inverter. Ising 60 inch sony bravia tv for hours then turn that off and the inverter suddenly starts beeping saying power issues. Turns off imac computer.
Ben sterling sent me free two battery monitors. First did not work. I sent it back. He fixed it and was sending it to me but first asked for money. It suddenly was not free anymore. How is that…?
40a AMPS battery charger which dont put out 40amps. Puts out half that.

Our BB1260 is out of warranty and failed, so I was thinking ..another £400.00 .. after several emails back and forth with Sterling getting me to run tests, I returned it to them on Thursday, by the following Monday had an email from DPD parcel on its way to me. then an email from Sterling, capacitor replaced and unit on its way back. no charge. how is that for service.

Difficulty of receiving response to information request explained by email system fault(s)
I am modifying the review I provided for Sterling Power regarding communications below as I have been contacted by Sterling Power using another email client which shows attempts to communicate were made. For reasons that remain unexplained nothing was received at my end of these earlier attempts. I am now happy to have received evidence confirmation of communication attempts.
Maybe the service in the UK / Europe is 5 Star but from the Antipodes after 3 attempts to get an email response for a potential purchase to be sent to a UK based freight forwarder / escrow agent - no response
13/05/2023 On 10/05/2023 I received a response from Anonymous via TrustPilot notably 7 days after posting the review above claiming that 3 responses had been sent 'somewhere' and that I could see those by following a supplied Dropbox link. I conducted a further search of the entire email system in use here including spam junk etc for 'Sterling' 'Power' and the only returns where what was sent from here and the Trust Pilot review with the Anonymous response. I have retested the 2 email addresses Anonymous may have used and both work perfectly and daily receive mail from the world. My contact details included phone numbers, one of which is a mobile and one could expect that after 3 attempts at contact some other sending method would be attempted other than what clearly was not working - if anything had been sent from a functional email service / provider. That would be worth a review in itself. My review stands and I am reluctant to pursue a belated Dropbox link to retrieve something from Anonymous in these circumstances when the email addresses provided and the system here is working as expected .

I made a pre-arranged visit to Sterling, with my faulty 3000w inverter. It owed me nothing, being around 18 yes old. Owen couldn’t have been more helpful, first bench-testing it to confirm the fault.
Having done that, he opened it up, cleaned a few things, but the fault persisted.
I was fully prepared to have to buy a new one, but he found me one of the same vintage. He confirmed that it was working, and sold it to me for an amazing low price.

Great product battery to battery chargers
Great product battery to battery charger12-24v. I blew it up shortly after receiving it. They fixed it without hesitation and had it returned a 400mile round trip delivery in 3 days. I got the bill and they said it would be £20 I’m amazed they were fantastic.
What a really Lovely team of nice people to deal with its renewed my faith in a real good old British company that offers exceptional services. Top marks all around. The best products on the market without any doubt that’s why they are number 1 sellers world wide.

Repair is done in hours and it's back with me plus cleaned up and looking like new within a couple of days. Customer service just does not come any better. The 5 stars says it all. Bought 5 Lithium batteries plus charging equipment only to find out there is no app to monitor the batteries, this has now been remedied and they are performing well
After a slow start all is well so yes, I can recommend them.
