We've had a poor experience with Stericycle. There seems to be a lack of communication between the office and the drivers doing the collections. We've had numerous dates booked in for collections with no one turning up. I've literally just had to re-arrange a collection from two weeks ago as no one turned up, despite them calling me to confirm the date. We also get charged for collections we haven't booked. One of the 'classic' situations with them is that the driver will arrive and say that he is picking up a much smaller number of items than we actually booked (e.g. we need 75 bags of waste collecting and he only has 30 on his job sheet). When told that the collection is actually much larger, they say they can't fit it onto the truck!
I've given two stars as the customer service team are friendly and helpful, and do try to sort out the problems when they arise. The trouble is, it just keeps happening.

Recently complained about appalling service, by Stericycle Feb 2026. I cancelled my contract. I did so in writing as per their request had an email today to inform me that they have just taken a payment by direct debit for the service that I cancelled …. This company is absolutely terrible. Use them at your peril you will be charged for collections that never happened. You won’t get any information as to when collections will be happening and you will get no satisfaction when you complain… Can’t recommend enough to use any other company other than these.

An urgent collection of clinical waste was agreed with the customer services team because the sales executive failed to respond to calls and emails. It is impossible to talk to anybody with authority in this company. On the day of collection we were emailed to say the collection was rebooked for the following week with no explanation of why. Fortunately there are other companies in this space that could help us solve the problem. Stericycle refused to take any responsibility for their errors

Following a telecon yesterday with Suzanna, where i requested more stock of Tubs & Bags. Suzanna listened, took note, and actioned my request with the transport dept. She then called my today to confirm & keep me up to date with the arrangements.

In the past, I had several negative experiences with other sharps disposal companies, especially Divert. I searched for quotes and found Stericycle; their customer service is personal, quick to respond, and genuinely cares about their clients, especially the support staff member called Dean. Their transit and depot teams have been smooth to work with, and any required adjustments were quickly addressed. They have a great follow-up system and collection reminders. So far, everything has been positive, but I will monitor their consistency over time before finalising this review.

If I could give this company a review of -1000 I would. They are absolutely shocking and don't know what the meaning of service is!!! I have had numerous collection issues and spent hours on the phone to resolve the same problem over and over again and they just cant get it right. Their drivers obviously don't care about the job they are doing and the customer service has no control over the transport business. They are useless. They have cost me money on a number of occasions from issues with their drivers. I keep on spending valuable time that I don't have trying to resolve this ongoing issue with zero results. I wish I had never engaged with this company.
