Welcome to "The Best Film Music Concerts in the World" by Star Entertainment GmbH. These concerts have been presented in different countries for 17 years by leading promoters and venues, starting at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with Sir Christopher Lee, whose narrations are still featured. Among the more than 20 promoters have been leading venues such as DR Koncerthuset in Denmark, production companies such as Star Entertainment GmbH, and local promoters such as VMS, Rolf Weinmann, Zahlmann, and Lancelot Productions, just to name a few. What makes these concerts so extraordinary, in addition to their quality, are the original soloists and the fact that this is the only film music concert series in the world with star guest presenters from the films. As these promoters and production companies represent the highest quality, it is noteworthy that Star Entertainment facilitated the orchestra and musical director for Semmel Concerts, which has been performing for Hans Zimmer himself for several years. The original producer has cooperated in the past with Europe’s greatest film composer, Ennio Morricone, as well as Harold Faltermayer, who composed the Top Gun theme and performed it live on stage for Star Entertainment, and has had personal exchanges with some of the greatest film music composers of our time, such as Klaus Badelt, the composer of Pirates of the Caribbean, Howard Shore, and Hans Zimmer, whom he met when Hans Zimmer won the Golden Globe. The title of the Hans Zimmer concert was agreed upon mutually with Hans Zimmer and his representatives at Semmel Concerts. The promoters are united in their quest to present the highest quality and most extraordinary concerts, as well as in their social commitment, regularly inviting COVID relief workers, social workers, and orphans free of charge, as well as dissidents and protesting students in Belgrade, or, for example, the victims’ families and survivors of the genocide in Bosnia on the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement in 2025. Since the invasion of Ukraine, many of the concerts have been performed by Ukrainian state orchestras, which in 2022 performed the national anthem of Ukraine after every concert, receiving a standing ovation from the audience.

Music of The Lion King
Concert at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet 12.4.2026

I was dissatisfied with the Music of The Lion King concert produced by Star Entertainment Europe by Lancelot Productions as a rental production at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet 12.4.2026 The advance information and execution were not at all correct or as promised.

However, Star Entertainment Europe by Lancelot Productions finally heard my feedback (after first labeling my feedback as a troll or fake) and handled the case with honor and responsibility.

I hope that in the future, rental productions performed at the premises of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet will match the general good standard of the opera. I am also willing to attend performances produced by Star Entertainment Europe by Lancelot Productions, presuming that they are executed as according to the pre information.

Disappointing is an understatement

We attended “The music of the lion king” at Melbourne town hall on 25th April.

To say the show was disappointing is an understatement, I have seen preschool concerts with greater production value and professionalism than what we witnessed.

Soloists seemingly not quite knowing where they are standing or when they are on or off stage, cringe worthy AI generated backgrounds and terrible sound engineering with the more talented of the male singers at one point not able to be heard at all over the orchestra…

The narrative by the soloists felt clunky and unnecessary and by the end we were begging for no encores but instead sat through several encores including Hakuna Matata for a second time.

For what it was the tickets were overpriced and I have never considered leaving a show at intermission, but yesterday was the day… the only reason we didn’t leave was because we thought perhaps the first act was just an anomaly and that it would improve.

Do not waste your money on these tickets, there are far better value and better quality music performances that you can attend.

LOTR in Adelaide

I bought tickets to a show in ADELAIDE!!!which was postponed. We waited for the new date and then it was cancelled. The email to cancel came two hours after the show was due to start. They said to send details for a refund which I did. After many emails I have had no response and no refund. I have emailed info at star-entertainment.eu and vi@lancelot.productions but no one replies. Amex only covers fraudulent transactions up to 90days. I'm out $300.

12.4.2026 The Music of The Lion King

12.4.2026 The Music of The Lion King

If that was supposed to be the Broadway symphony orchestra, choir, and soloists, I have to say their performance was pretty weak!

This was promised:

"MUSIC FROM THE LION KING
Immerse yourself in the unforgettable world of music from The Lion King.
In this concert, you’ll hear familiar
favorite songs from Disney’s iconic story. Performed by star soloists from the original Broadway productions and accompanied by the Broadway Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, this concert captures the spirit and adventure of The Lion King."

I don’t really believe that (they were Broadway artists), though.

To me, the whole thing—*Music of The Lion King*—was a sham!

I know The Lion King very well (I’ve seen both the movie and the London musical production), and what I saw now was like a production by someone who doesn’t know it at all.

Don’t waste your time and money on these productions—make sure the production has a license and has received good reviews!

NOTE: The production company responds to these criticisms by dismissing them as false or trolling. All the information about the production comes from their "intro," which I received along with my ticket. If necessary, I can provide screenshots.

Don't waste your money

I attended The Music of the Lion King concert on April 12, 2026. I had heard that they were using background videos created with AI, but there was no mention of this when I bought the tickets (I should have checked their backgrounds better before purchasing).

The first half went ok, but the second half felt like I was at a different concert. The soloists turned into hosts, and the worst part — along with the AI-generated background videos — was the performance of Shakira’s Waka Waka not once but TWICE. What does that have to do with TLK?

The songs lacked the grand characteristic of TLK and I highly doubt that they were performed by the renowned Broadway Symphonic Orchestra.

Don’t waste your money on their concerts.

Edit and answer to Star Entertainment GmbH: Nice try. And FYI: Finland is not part of Scandinavia.

Veranstaltung am 6.4.2026

Veranstaltung am 6.4.2026 - 20 Uhr Berliner Philharmonie - Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon.

Update regarding the response from 16.4.2026: Your response is factually incorrect. I responded to the form that included a phone number; no other information was requested. And while we submitted our claims through the ticket vendor, this does not change the fact that the event did not take place without any prior communication, and we only found out on-site that there was no lease or usage agreement with the Berlin Philharmonic. The right approach would be to apologize—mistakes happen—and then accept the consequences by offering compensation.

Unauthorized concert using Howard Shore’s name without permission

Title: Unauthorized concert using Howard Shore’s name without permission
I attended the “Der Herr der Ringe & Der Hobbit – Das Konzert” on March 22, 2026 at Konzerthaus Karlsruhe. I paid €185,93 for 2 Premium tickets and left deeply disappointed.
Misleading advertising: The Instagram ad explicitly used Howard Shore’s name — “Vom legendären, weltführenden Komponisten Howard Shore.” However, Howard Shore has publicly stated on his official website (howardshore.com) that these concerts have NO association with him and that the music is assembled from unauthorized bootleg arrangements. A lawsuit is currently in process.
Guest bait-and-switch: Billy Boyd was advertised. Dylan Smith (a minor actor from an Amazon series) appeared instead.
AI-generated content: The promotional video suggested original film footage. Instead, AI-generated videos were shown — clearly because they have no rights to the originals.
Musical quality: The musicians performed out of tune throughout the entire concert. Not a single piece was performed correctly.
I have filed a PayPal dispute and contacted Star Entertainment directly requesting a full refund of €185,93.
Do not waste your money on this show.

Update: Star Entertainment replied claiming nobody filed a PayPal dispute and that I have a fake account. Both claims are false.
I am a real customer who attended the concert on March 22, 2026 at Konzerthaus Karlsruhe. My PayPal dispute case number is PP-R-LDP-621568363. I have also sent a formal refund request directly to Star Entertainment’s official email address.
Regarding Howard Shore — his official statement about these unauthorized concerts is still publicly available on his website. I encourage anyone to search “Howard Shore unofficial concerts” and read it themselves.
Regarding Billy Boyd — I have a saved screenshot of their Instagram advertisement featuring his name.
I am not a troll. I am simply a customer who paid €185,93 for a misleading performance and wants a refund.

Trolls keep spreading systematic and organized false claims on Trustpilot:
there is no lawsuit in process by Howard Shore, and there are no bootleg arrangements. Shore is one of several composers of Lord of the rings music presented, he has transferred his music rights to music rights associations and has no involvement at all in any of such concerts. The claim in the fake review is deliberate misleading information and repeated systematically by paid trolls over the internet. The concerts were started in 2006 by Saruman actor 'Sir Christopher Lee' and have been performed in correct legal manner for 20 years by many promoters and original film actors all over the world, with visual contributions ranging from the Queen of Denmark to Ted Nasmith and visual producers from Austria who create visual designs for Oscar winning films. The reoccurring comments about cheap AI loops is another deliberate and systematic attempt of misinformation across the internet.

Billy Boyd was not advertised as presenter or live guest of the concert. Dylan Smith is the most recognizable actor from the series. This concert series is the only one in the world which features the star guest from the films at all.

The promotional video does not suggest any original film footage.

The musical quality is very high and the concerts series is among the best in the world according to the public review statistic on Facebook of all public reviews on social media; 60.000 positive and 18 negative ,with a positive rate of 99.7 percent which is a unique achievement. The musicians performed throughout the entire concert is completely made up as well as the claim that a single piece was performed correctly, such allegations only serve defamatory purposes.

Nobody has filed a PayPal dispute or has connected with Star Entertainment.

The posting entity has never posted a review before and has created a fake account with a fake review.

Attended "music from the lord of the…

Attended "music from the lord of the rings, the hobbit, rings of power" concert on March 12th 2026. Centennial hall London Ontario. This was a star entertainment organized event and it was so terrible. I literally gasped in shock of how awful and slimy this company is. The way they add notes, and pauses and keep songs under 1min 30 so they avoid lawsuits. It's scummy and I even feel worse for the musicians. "Featuring scenes from the movies" false it was just ai from like 2023 and Christopher lee was 100% deep faked. Everything about this show screamed AI everything down to the music. It's like they put a prompt into AI and said hey write out musical notes that sound like the Lord of the rings music but make it so we don't get a lawsuit. It was terrible. It was cheap and I truly want to refund. I've seen official Lord of the rings in concert where they play a massive Orchestra under a big movie screen, and they play the score to the movie and it is phenomenal but this this is something else don't waste your money. Don't waste your time. I wouldn't even go for free to be honest. It was supposed to be a gift for my buddies birthday. We are huge Lord of the rings fans and I listened to the soundtrack daily and this was off by a long shot. Sure, the actor that they got the host was honestly the only good thing about the show. It was some dwarf from The Hobbit, who barely had any speaking Lines, but he shared some interesting facts but honestly, other than that, I would give this negative stars if I could, I feel terrible for the musicians. I hope they get paid and I hope I get my money back. I have proof of my ticket so don't say it wasn't advertised in Canada because it is if you can guide me to where I can contact someone who can give me a refund I will take down this review, but stop scamming people and stop playing terrible music and dishonouring a fantastic trilogy.

For lord of the rings fans out there, you'll understand this review

"This made me not want to rewatch Lord of the rings"

I attended the Harry Potter concert in Belgium and was very disappointed by the experience. The production ran poorly: several video screens malfunctioned throughout the show, which disrupted the atmosphere and made key moments hard to follow. A promised special guest never appeared, and the overall execution felt unprofessional.
After the event I filed a complaint and was explicitly promised a refund, but several weeks have passed and I still have not received any money. The organizer has also been ignoring my emails, leaving me without any update or timeline for repayment.
I’m sharing this so others know what to expect and so the organizers are held accountable.

False advertising

False advertising! The only reason I bought the ticket is because it stated that Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) will host it “Live on Stage”. He was not there and I specifically bought a front row seat to see him live.

An event got cancelled and I never received a refund. It has been weeks now and star entertainment has not emailed me back at all.

Edit:since they replied, I bought the tickets from event bright. Star entertainment emailed everyone that refunds would be processed and mine never was, and eventbrite is telling me the organizer, which is star entertainment, needs to be the one to refund as they are just a 3rd party that facilitates sales. Dear customer,

Making an allegation of “scam” without providing any verifiable details is defamatory and unacceptable.

To assess your claim, we require the name of the event, date, city, and venue, as it is currently impossible to determine whether you are even referring to a concert organised by Star Entertainment.

Please also note that Star Entertainment does not sell tickets directly. All ticket sales and refunds are handled solely by the official ticketing platform used for the event. Any refund request must therefore be addressed to the ticket provider shown on the ticket confirmation.

Without the above information, your claim cannot be verified and does not substantiate the accusation made.

Unpaid trial week - Terrible experience

After interviewing with this company, I started working for them, initially with a one-week paid trial period (confirmed by them in two separate emails). The trial was meant for them to see how I worked, and for me to understand if the job was a good fit.
During the very first days, I realized the job was nothing like what was described in the job posting and nothing like what I expected, so I decided not to continue and worked only four days.
I then issued the invoice for those four days, and from that point on I received nothing back. Months of unanswered emails from my side, not even a reply on WhatsApp.
Do not trust this “company".

Edit:
You tell me that I should raise my issue through the appropriate channels.
Which ones, exactly? What are they? Email?

Because in the countless emails I’ve already sent, none of which I’ve ever received a reply to, your Business & Marketing Leader was always in cc.

Are there any other ways to contact you? Because you have been extremely unprofessional, and this appears to be a defining trait of your company, as also reflected in the reviews above.

Absolute Scam. Do not buy tickets to their shows

Absolute Scam

I hope their activities stop before more people get scammed due to their horrible and nefarious ways in how they treat those who bought tickets to their shows. I was to attend an event about harry potter in concert in Melbourne in Aug 2025. Turns out they cancelled a few weeks prior saying that the lead star/collab is not available.

We paid between $120-140 AUD per ticket. When tried to reach out for a refund, we barely heard anything from them or their team. To this day, the refund is still being processed without any further clarity, communication or timeline.

If there is way, collective action can be taken against them, sign me up! cuz what they are doing is exploitative and predatory behaviour and people should not suffer due to such organisations

Beware of this SCAM! You'll spend $$$ on tickets with NO WAY to get your money back!

3 weeks ago I was served a FB ad for The Music of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit In Concert. I two purchased back-of-balcony tickets totaling $200 - a LOT for the worst seats but I wanted to buy it as a pre-wedding date night treat for my fiance and I since we'll be having music from LOTR at our wedding.

The tickets were resale through ticketmaster, and I paid for insurance. The show was scheduled for Oct 7. When I looked up more about the show to get excited, MY HEART DROPPED. Turns out this show is a known scam concert that the composer of the LOTR has warned against, and they just finished a run in Europe where customers said it was a trainwreck that many walked out on it was so bad.

Unfortunately for me, ticket insurance only covers illness and emergency. I figured we'd just go anyway. Well, TODAY I receive an email that it's postponed with no date TBA. I contacted ticketmaster and they said i'm ineligible for refunds because the refund period was back in MAY (5 months ago). How was I supposed to know BEFORE I bought the tickets that the show was already postponed before?

Anyway, there's groups on facebook where people who got scammed by the Europe concerts trying to organize a class action lawsuit it was such a waste of money. When I tried to find this company's website, it's conveniently 'under construction' so there's no way to contact the organizers regarding a refund.

If I don't hear from the company itself, I'm filing a chargeback with my credit card company because this is absolutely unethical, shady, and scammy.

So many people left during the intermission and it was honestly one of the worst things I have ever seen.
Never waste your money on a show by this company.
I can't put the correct date in below for some reason, but I went on 21/05/2023 - it seems legit because the tickets are being sold by Ticketek. I'm shocked that they would actually sell tickets to something like this.
