Staff was great from checking my eyes all the way to selecting glasses. The only one thing I did not like was that I never saw the doctor to go over what he thought.

Customer service is great my problem was the glasses. I had to return them several times because I couldn’t see right out of them. So I requested a refund I felt bad but I was tired of going back and forth to get the lens remade.they refunded everything but the cost of the eye exam which is not fair considering I have to pay another doctor for an eye exam. I have been there before but I will not return. The staff were very nice and understanding.

This was my first visit to Stanton Optical, and unfortunately, it will also be my last.
I visited the store for the advertised special on two pairs of progressive glasses, which I was told included an eye exam. After completing the exam, selecting my frames, and paying my invoice, I noticed the total was significantly higher than expected. While I understand that optional lens upgrades often increase the final price, I was surprised to discover an additional $80 charge for the eye exam after reviewing my receipt at home.
I called the store and spoke with the manager, who explained that I had received two separate exams costing $40 each. My concern wasn't necessarily the cost—it was that these charges were never disclosed before the exams were performed. Had someone explained the additional fees in advance, I likely would have agreed to them because I value my eyesight. However, performing services without informing the customer of the additional cost and only revealing the charges afterward is, in my opinion, a poor business practice. To the manager's credit, she refunded the $80.
When my glasses arrived, the problems became much worse.
Although both pairs were supposed to have the same prescription, they were noticeably different. One pair was blurrier at a distance than the other, yet neither pair provided clear vision. Even more concerning, I could only see clearly through a small area in the center of each lens. Looking left or right with just my eyes caused everything to become severely distorted unless I turned my entire head. I've worn progressive lenses for nearly ten years and have never experienced anything like this.
When I questioned the issue, I was told that having a wider area of clear vision throughout the lenses would have cost several hundred dollars more. Again, this option was never explained or offered when I purchased the glasses. Instead, I was advised to wear them for a few days to see if my eyes adjusted.
After only a day and a half, I knew they weren't going to work. Driving with them felt unsafe, especially on curved roads where my peripheral vision remained blurry. I also found myself constantly turning my head just to keep objects in focus. Both pairs were different, and neither prescription appeared to be correct.
I returned the glasses and requested a full refund. The manager refunded everything except the eye exam fee, which totaled $114. I felt this was extremely unfair, especially considering the glasses and vision prescription were unusable. She told me there was nothing more she could do and provided me with a direct number for corporate.
Before contacting corporate, I decided to get a second opinion from another optical provider. They performed a much more thorough eye exam, and the results were significantly different from Stanton Optical's. I was also told that the glasses I received could never have been correct because the original prescription itself was inaccurate.
Armed with that information, I contacted corporate. Initially, I was told I would not receive the remaining refund. However, after explaining the results of my second eye exam and speaking with a manager, corporate ultimately agreed to refund the remaining balance.
I waited to write this review until I received my new glasses from the second provider. They made two new pairs of progressive glasses using their prescription, and both are absolutely perfect. The difference was immediate.
I truly wish I could have had a better experience with Stanton Optical. Instead, this was the worst experience I have ever had with an optical retailer. Between the undisclosed exam charges, the incorrect prescription, the unusable glasses, and having to fight for a complete refund, the entire process was frustrating and unnecessarily stressful.
A much better customer experience would have been simple: clearly explain any additional exam charges before performing the services, ensure the prescription was accurate, and when it became clear the glasses were made from an incorrect prescription, issue a full refund without requiring the customer to repeatedly escalate the matter.
Unfortunately, because of this experience, I cannot recommend Stanton Optical, and I will not be returning.

I found glasses two years ago that I love. I found the frames again and was so happy! The lady that helped me this year didn't tell me what the doctor recommended and didn't seem to know how to work with my insurance. I wanted the exact glasses I had the first time without the shiny coating on the outside. That is not what I got. The lenses are white on the outside instead of clear and they don't aren't transitions. The price even with insurance started at more than $700 which I would not pay. The lady that helped me the first time helped her get the price in the $400 range. I'm very frustrated.

I found the advertisement of free exam and 2 pairs of glasses for $79 is just to get people in the door. Even though I got the buy one get one free glasses, (for basic uncoated lenses), I still walked out having to pay 521.00 dollars after the protective coatings were put on. It took 10 days for my order to come in. I ordered 1 pair of regular glasses and one pair of prescription sunglasses. The regular glasses were fine but the sunglasses came in untinted and clear. The employee said she put the order in and didn’t know why she did not order them as tinted lenses. She told me it would be 7-14 days before they would be ready to pick up.
I wort outside all day and do a lot of driving, I was REALLY looking forward to those sunglasses. Work today was difficult because the sun was intense.
Not happy with my initial experience with Stanton Optical.

It is a good service if all you need are standard glasses and have no complications with your eyes.
There was no discussion on the condition of my eyes, such as possible diabetic damage, glaucoma, or cataract (which I know I have in my right eye.
The remote doctor, who basically is just controlling the lens flips on the machine was difficult to understand (French I think). Went in under the $79 price advertised and ended with about $200 for nothing special.

I got one pair of glasses when I should’ve got 2 pair for $80 if my insurance paid $150 just for frames, and I still had to pay $80 out of my pocket, I feel like I should have 2 pair instead of one..!
The customer service was excellent and the glasses came out perfectly.
Staff did a great job. Find pricing a bit high for quality of materials.
