I am using Square from last one year as…

I am using Square from last one year as a emergency backup whenever our main EPOS is logging in or restarting and every single time whenever I use Square they hold my money and even though today they told me to give my camera recordings of us selling goods we are running this grocery store from last year. We pay our taxes get stuff on invoices have everything legal and I don’t think they have any right to do our audit as we didn’t need anything wrong but they have a lot of problems while processing the payments.

Square does sometimes pause transfers and ask for extra information (like invoices, proof of delivery, or other records) when our systems flag unusual or higher-risk activity. This is part of our responsibility as a regulated payments provider to protect you and your customers from fraud and chargebacks, and it’s covered in our terms and our information-request process.

The request for camera recordings is one example of documentation that can help our review team confirm that the payments are for legitimate in-person sales. If you don’t have or can’t reasonably provide that, you can still respond to the information request with what you do have (e.g., invoices from your suppliers, recent bank statements, tax records, and a clear description of the goods/services you sell and how you take payments). Our review team looks at the full picture, not just a single document. To move things forward as quickly as possible, please:

- Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Settings → Information Requests (or use the link in the email/text we sent).
- Fill out the form and upload whatever documentation you can, then submit. Our team typically reviews submissions within 1–2 business days and will follow up by email or Dashboard if they need anything else.

I know it feels like an audit when you’ve been operating legitimately and paying taxes, but these reviews are not an accusation that you’ve done anything wrong — they’re a standard risk and compliance process that applies to many businesses, especially where card activity or patterns trigger our automated checks.

You have sent me a Happy Anniversary…

You have sent me a Happy Anniversary for 2 years. Its actually been between 5-6 years since I started using Square. Whilst I do enjoy the service, you really should get your facts correct before reaching out

Those “anniversary” emails are usually tied to a specific product or account event date (for example, when you first started using a particular feature), not always the very first time you ever used Square, which is why it can look wrong on your side. The reader worked really well for a…

The reader worked really well for a bit, but then BAM! It won't connect and says "Can't connect to rooted device." And the app itself wasn't working too well , with tapping and swiping just for that period.

Intially when it was working, it was super smooth!
Might be a software issue or something else?
Hoping it gets resolved soon.
But overall its a nice setup..the app is fantastic

User interface is spot on.
Very easy to use.
Loved it

The ‘Can’t connect to rooted device’ message means the phone/tablet is running software that looks modified or ‘rooted,’ and for security/PCI reasons Square readers can’t connect to rooted devices. If the device has ever been rooted or unlocked, you’d need to return it to the original manufacturer software or instead use a different, non‑rooted phone/tablet to take payments. I’d also make sure your OS and Square app are fully updated, since what you described with tapping/swiping freezing can point to a device/OS issue as well. If you’d like to send your device model and OS version, Support can double‑check whether we’re seeing a false alarm vs. a genuine root detection.

Lots of promises ... plenty of waiting

Lots of promises from sales people that don't convert to a timely implementation and solution with post contract signing being a vacuum where no support is provided until they get around to it - no use signing people up if you can't immediately get them onboarded and provide the support you bundle into the contract.
