Spray foam removal warning

The firm have carried out work on my mothers house despite being told shes a vulnerable woman on her own.

They have cut the previously sprayed foam out and installed a membrane. As a surveyor the correct method would be to remove the roof tiles / slates and install a new membrane and replace or reinstall the tiles/roof.

I had been contacted by spray foam…

I had been contacted by spray foam removal company. Richie was very knowledgable about his job. Arrangements were made for the guys to come on 3 & 4 April. I moved some of my appointments to suit in with them. Unfortunately the day before work should have started I received a phone call to say the job was running late.. and they would be with me at 12.30…. The time scales were moved on at every turn. They eventually arrived and started work, not enough covers to put on my stair, new carpet fitted a couple of weeks ago. Guys arrived at 4.50 and they were away just after 7pm. Arrangements made for them to arrive at 9am next morning!! Didn’t happen.
Arrangements were then made to come on 1st May…. Received a phone call van had broke down. It has been a bit of a shambles from beginning to end. Unfortunately I can’t get up the attic so I am waiting of a tradesman coming to inspect it. In the meantime I am being harassed for payment, even though they have been told it will get paid after the roof is checked. The last day working at the house was to take again a day and a half but they finished in half a day hence the reason this needs to be checked"

Spray foam removal or replace the roof instead

Spray foam removal experts attended and indeed they did remove all the spray foam from the roof space, However the damage to the roofing felt was so extensive that a new roof was needed. Cost for the spray foam removal was £5,700 a whole new roof was £7,200. So for an additional £1500 you can get the roof replaced which included getting rid of the spray foam. Lesson Learnt for the next house I flip.

Happy with removal but tidying up needs improvement

They were able to do the job within 1 week of contacting them. The price matched another supplier and they didn’t ask for a deposit. We were satisfied with the removal of the spray foam from the roof. However, there was a lot of large chunks of foam left on the loft floor. Following our complaint someone returned for 2 hours to tidy this up. After their departure we still found large pieces of foam lying around the loft, enough to fill a bin bag. The fibre insulation on the floor of our loft is covered with small pieces of spray foam debris, which we accept would be difficult to clear but we weren’t prepared for this.

Amazing admin and engineers, exceptional service

Thanks to SFRE, I was able to sell my property as the surveyor had flagged the spray foam in my loft. I contact the office and they were able to book me in for the same week, completing all the work safely and cleanly over 3 days which was very impressive. I would recommend this company to anyone going through similar issues, very well priced compared to other companies! Thank you all for your help and guidance
