Very Understanding

My mother-in-law died just before Christmas and was cremated locally. She was actually from Yorkshire and had no friends down South, so we organised a service in Yorkshire and needed to move her remains up there. The local undertakers were not able to transport her remains and were putting pressure on my wife to collect them. This was stressing her out, in addition to trying to organise the service up North. I contacted Speedlink and the lady I spoke to was very sympathetic to my wife's situation and organised everything very well. I cannot rate highly enough. Great service.

Great experience, lovely people

We have used speed link transport Limited on a number of occasions to ship high value equipment where we have been unable to do so ourselves. They are a very professional organisation and a pleasure to deal with from the booking enquiry through to fulfilment. You even get a tracking link so you can see where everything is which in our case was very important as we were synchronising at the other end of the journey. In addition they’re very flexible to changing requirements which in our line of business is essential. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to transport either time critical or high value items or both.

They made a very stressful time, easy and trackable. Collecting my brother’s ashes from the Funeral Home and bringing to me just over two hours away, This enable both myself and his wife some comfort and relief at time of grief, stress and worry.

Respectful, trustworthy and efficient service

David and the whole team have been excellent in supporting our family to bring back our father’s ashes. They are professional, so efficient and so caring. They have gone above and beyond on multiple occasions and we knew that we could complete the team at every stage with such a precious package. The team were respectful with both the remains and us and we are so grateful for their work.

I was so lucky to find Speedlink, They helped me bring my late cat ashes from England to Canada, which I thought impossible. The staffs of Speedlink are professional and responsible, keep me updated at very beginning about transportation process until I got my parcel. Big Thank to Speedlink! Highly recommend!

Stay away if you want reliability

I will summarize to save readers'time. Great sales person efficiently helped me book my transaction by phone. I paid for collection and delivery. Collection FAILED twice in a row. Speedlink ducked its end-to-end responsibility, deferring it to their subcontractor DHL, trying to infer it was my fault because nobody answered doorbell (which never rang). They eventually told me to go drop off my package myself to a DHL collection point! - which I did. To add insult to injury, next day I received an (I assume automated) email from their system confirming package had been COLLECTED BY DHL (!?!). Not even once in various email exchanges did they use the word "sorry", instead bombarding me with defensive facts and screenshots. I messaged the MD via Linkedin, but after a brief reply reassuring me he/they did value their customers, and he would look into it on the monday, since then total, deafening silence. Had I received some vague expression of sympathy or apology I would have written a positive review. But.. bottom line: such a disappointing and painful experience, that the lesson is: never again.

I won’t thank you for your review as it’s neither factual nor fair. It is also completely unlike the experience virtually of our clients experience. What I will say is judging by your Trustpilot history, you seem to have difficulty with couriers either collecting from or delivering to your home location. So perhaps it’s not entirely down to us?

To be frank, SpeedLink is primarily a B2B, time critical service provider. We specialize in business shipments from business locations with staffed receptions, goods out or shipping desks. While we do offer services to consumers at private residences, this can sometimes be problematic due to the nature of home addresses not being geared to business activity.

Additionally, the confirmation email that contained the labels that we sent to you on the day of booking clearly stated:

“If you have received this email, it is because you have opted for an Express or Economy service as an alternative to our flagship service. If you feel you need a guaranteed service and do not have the option of delay for any reason whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact us to request a quote for an upgrade to our time critical direct service.”

At no time did we receive a message or call from you that there was no option for delay, or an enquiry for our enhanced, guaranteed service. IF you had emailed or called, we could have advised.

We did however provide you out-of-hours support over the weekend and provided alternative options for you, to which we were met with somewhat berating emails.

I am sorry you suffered a delay, and that you feel you were provided a less than perfect service. However, I think we as a company went above and beyond to support you with your issue, particularly over the weekend while our contact centre was closed. Again, I suspect your location, (hi-rise residential block of flats) was more of the issue, rather than a service failure on either ours or our service partner’s part.

Despite all this, from what I gather from our tracking details, you made use of the information provided to lodge your shipment with our partners service point over the weekend, which meant your shipment got underway on the Monday and delivered on Tuesday – to France, with customs clearance as well.

I feel, “Bravo SpeedLink” is more in order.

Highly recommend

Highly recommend. Having checked out all the (very few) couriers that specialise in transporting ashes, Speedlink sounded the most professional. Having employed them to carry my mum's precious ashes across the country, we are very pleased with our choice. They were very efficient, picked up her ashes in the morning, kept us informed of their progress throughout the day and a very courteous man delivered them 5 hours later with a big smile. Very happy with their service.

Efficient service with empathy and care

If you need something sensitive, time-critical or requiring a high level of care to be transported, then I can really recommend Speedlink. They are a caring company who will endeavour to go the extra mile to make sure your needs are taken care of in a careful and sensitive manner. I needed to transport some large and heavy furniture and personal items that had a lot of sentimental value as family heirlooms, and it was not an easy job in terms of moving the items out of the property, having very specific pick up and drop off timeslots, and some other complications. This was all handled very well by Speedlink who worked through various options with me to find one that suited. Booking and payment was very easy with the links and invoice paperwork provided. It was a relief to know I was in good hands and to receive my items delivered with care. I would have no hesitation in recommending their services and in booking again when I have anything else to transport as I know it will be handled with empathy and care.

Extremely reliable

Great experience

Great experience. I was in France with no passport and needed it within the next 24h to be able to get back to the UK. SpeedLink was super helpful and got my passport delivered to me the next day for a reasonable quote. I definitely recommend their service!

Gave me one less thing to worry about!

I ended up phoning before booking and speaking to the owner, Dave, as I had a bit of a complicated situation.
I live in Scotland, and my Sister in London, but following my Aunt passing we needed to deal with things from her house in Preston – some boxes and some furniture, some going to London and some back up to Scotland.
I’m not great with logistics – But it was a 3 hour drive from me, I knew I needed to get down to the house, pack things up, give them to the driver, but also I’d need to race them back up in Scotland to get them at the other end, and also trying to arrange delivery for my Sister when she would be at home, as she needed to arrange time off work.
I was really stressed out. I panicked as we needed to get the house cleared for the new owners, but Dave calmed me down and was very helpful. We arranged that the van wouldn’t pick up the Scottish load until 4pm and the furniture at 6pm so that I had time to get down in the morning to box things, wrap the furniture, and get it out of the house.
Then, boxes for Scotland would be delivered the next Morning, so I had time to get back up the road, and the furniture was temporarily stored for a couple of days while he sorted delivery with my Sister.

Honestly, we had just had the funeral, and we were spinning so many plates I was a mess; Speedlink were really helpful in putting a plan together. It was one less thing to worry about.
They turned up when they said they would.
They did what we agreed
Everything arrived on time, undamaged, and for a fair price.

Would recommend, 100% would use again.

One of the worst experiences of my life

UPDATE: I HAVEN’T READ THE RESPONSE POSTED TO THIS - NOT ONLY BECAUSE ITS TAKEN SO LONG FOR ANY ANSWER WHICH IS FURTHER PROOF OF THE LACK OF INTEREST SHOWN TO CLIENTS - BUT BECAUSE I REMAIN TRAUMATISED BY THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE. I GREATLY REGRET TRUSTING THIS COMPANY WITH SUCH PRECIOUS CARGO AND I CAN ASSURE YOU EVERYTHING IVE WRITTEN IS TRUE. THE PURPOSE OF THE REVIEW WAS TO STOP ANYBODY ELSE, ALREADY DEALING WITH GRIEF, TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH ANYTHING SIMILAR. THAT IS MY SOLE INTENTION. I WOULDN’T WISH MY EXPERIENCE ON ANYBODY. NOT EVEN A BULLY OF A BUSINESS OWNER.

Incredibly helpful staff until the point of sale. I called when the international tracking for human remans (ashes) stalled just after the Xmas period. I was seeking reassurance as they were human ashes and children were waiting for what was left of their dad to arrive in Australia from England. I had the misfortune of speaking to a patronising, unsympathetic man who I later learnt was the owner. Because he was so disparaging and dismissive, I firmly asked not to speak to him again. His reaction to this was to call my mobile repeatedly then sent a weird email. No reassurance was given as to why they were no longer moving but he repeated the last possible date of delivery which wasn’t the point. I didn’t call to complain or query the timeline. Later, when the ashes were marked as delivered and hadn’t been I rang late at night, absolutely distraught for obvious reasons, and had the odd experience of being berated for the previous communication rather than finding support. The only help I was given was a copy and paste of several courier emails I already had and an accusation of abuse. I subsequently spent 3.5 hours that night into the early hours on the phone to Australia Post and the British Embassy in Australia to locate them myself which I did in the early hours of the morning. The highlight of the last conversation was when I was told it was my fault for not choosing a more expensive option (the transit chosen cost thousands not including the calls to Australia from a landline). The individual in question showed neither compassion nor urgency in locating the ashes and was only interested in winning an argument he had created himself. He told me it would take “weeks” to resolve and I could call Aus Post “in the morning”. My family and I, and the family of the deceased remain shocked and traumatised by the experience and still don’t understand how they could be so callous when dealing with a deceased loved one. I’ve hesitated in posting this as they are so unpleasant and I won’t respond to further comment but would urge others to remain cautious if trusting them with human remains. I’m sure it wasn’t anybody’s fault they were low - that’s just bad luck and must happen sometimes - but the way I was treated at such a terrifying moment is inexcusable. I’ve been shown more concern when tracking misplaced parcels containing clothes and to continue a self-made argument (with a paying customer) is bewildering to us. I did my research and firmly believed I’d chosen a specialist courier who cared for bereaved people using the service. What happened to me was unfortunate and frightening but the attitude of the company to it and their treatment of me made it horrific. All I originally did was say his attitude was insensitive (which it was) and I (understandably) didn’t want to deal with him. When the ashes were lost all he cared about was punishing me for that rather than trying to help or make me feel better in an awful situation. What made it even worse was that he was quite calm at first and it must have been apparent that I was panicking and upset. The reaction of this courier was all about ego and a complete disregard for the welfare of a distraught family trying to locate human remains when thousands of miles apart. Speedlink made a heartbreaking situation worse and for no reason other than pettiness and self-entitlement. I sorely regret using them for such an important purpose and will never trust them again.

I’d struggle to thank you for this review as it is neither fair nor factual.

The cremated remains shipment you entrusted to us – it was never lost, stalled, or delayed as you claim. In fact, the exact opposite is true. It was delivered from you in Liverpool all the way to Harrisdale, Australia in record time over the Christmas period.

This shipment started and completed over the course of 19 calendar days. Allowing for the weekends and bank holidays in between, this shipment was actually completed in 10 working days – on a service which we normally advise takes in the region of 6 to 8 weeks. Added to this, we were available to assist you over the holiday period when our contact centre is normally closed for the holidays – as we do for all cremated remains shipments.

I really am at a loss to explain how we could have done better, particularly as this was conducted over Christmas. Both my team members and I were nothing but courteous, helpful, and compassionate at all points of contact. The visibility of the tracking showed the shipment was in progress, making its way to and across Australia far earlier than promised. The ‘stall’ in tracking was simply down to the shipment being between stages, rather than being lost. I did try to explain this to you, that the tracking is in stages rather than a mile-by-mile report. Your question on the day "Can you tell me exactly where the ashes are right now? Their physical location?" was a completely unreasonable question, as you knew full well that the ashes would be carried by Australia Post. You said yourself you did extensive research on our service prior to engaging our services, and this was advised to you throughout both verbally and by email.

I'm very sorry that you feel the way you do, and I completely understand the pain and anxiety both you and the family must be dealing with. I’ve been there myself and can relate. It’s actually because of that loss that our company is helping people with simple and cost-effective ashes courier services. I’ve endeavoured to bring the same care and attention accorded to my mother’s ashes to every one of the hundreds of clients we’ve assisted over the years.

If this was truly the worst experience of your life, I can with 100% confidence say it was not because of the service or assistance you had from us. You received an amazing service. We picked when you asked. We delivered a week or so early. We made ourselves available for assistance. 10 working days, Liverpool to Australia.

Be VERY careful with this company

Be VERY careful with this company! The 'small print' is extensive. On Tuesday night I paid 145 pounds for courier of a small package we needed urgently: Wednesday pickup in London and Thursday delivery in Paris before 9AM. The call centre said they can do it and I paid. No one told me that Thursday was a public holiday in France. When my package did not arrive I called to ask why and was told it would arrive the next working day (which was Friday and I was fortunately still in France). The DHL tracking tool also said I would receive the package on Friday. When the package did not arrive on Friday we called the service centre again and were told that everything was correct in terms of the contract and the 'overnight' package would arrive next week, date still to be confirmed. Today (Sunday) we are back in the UK ... back to where our package was collected from to bring to us in France 4 days ago. We no longer need the 'overnight' service and we don't know how to get our package back. We continue to follow up with SpeedLink and will post any updates here.

The package was finally delivered to the hotel on Monday, though could not be received because I was back in London. SpeedLink continues to insist that they have provided the service I paid for. They have offered to bring the package back to London, and point out that it will cost more than the previous service because in their words "imports are more expensive".

Thank you for your review and we can only apologize for the situation. This has resulted in SpeedLink implementing a “holiday check procedure” on shipments going abroad to prevent similar from happening in the future.

However, I need to correct some information from your review.
Whilst this was your shipment, it was in fact booked online without any assistance or input from SpeedLink by a colleague of yours named Sally R – who booked using a Gmail account on the Tuesday evening you mentioned at 8:35 PM.

We promptly created and emailed the labels to Sally on the following morning at 9:12 AM. She emailed back within 10 minutes to say the labels were printed and attached to the parcel and it was "ready to go." Our service partner DHL then collected it at 2:59 PM that afternoon.

With the following calendar day being a bank holiday in France, this would have automatically pushed the target delivery day to the next possible working day – Friday in this case. However, this is still dependent on customs clearance and the broker in charge of the shipment being able to reach a consignee to complete the clearance.

Unfortunately, the broker was not able to reach you on that Friday, pushing the delivery back further to the Monday.

This certainly is not the outcome we or any of our customers want. However, since Brexit, all shipments bound for the EU are subject to customs and this can at times cause delays which are out of our control.

You do mention our fine print. I will not apologize for our fine print as any reputable company will have written policies in place. However, we do also have big and bold print on the email that contains your labels. It states in the first paragraph:

“SpeedLink is primarily a time critical, same day or direct courier service across town, the country and the globe. That service is guaranteed, and timings are much more reliable and predictable than Express or Economy services. If you have received this email, it is because you have opted for an Express or Economy service as an alternative to our flagship service. (This next sentence is in Bold font:) If you feel you need a guaranteed service and do not have the option of delay for any reason whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact us to request a quote for an upgrade to our time critical direct service.”

If either you or Sally had called, we could have provided you the details of a different service that does operate on holidays, anywhere in Europe. But no call was made to us. Only Sally’s email saying the parcel was “ready to go!”

So yes, we did provide the service your colleague ‘bought’ – a next working day service. This meant Friday in your case, subject to customs clearance. As you were not reachable on the Friday, you suffered a further delay. This unfortunately, is out of our control.

Lastly, if a shipment is not deliverable, we are always more than happy to help with a quote to transport any shipment back to the point of origin.

Great service

Contrary to other reviews here I can vouch for this courier which was able to arrange a next day delivery of 2 cats.
Their pricing was also very competitive.
